  1. I can’t understand where you would ever get the idea that Ps. 90 is speaking of the rapture. To even get this interpretation the entire Psalm has to be taken out of context. No rapture could possibly be proven from the words, “we fly away” in this context. The entire Psalm is a description of the brevity of human life. What about the measure of “three score and ten” and the measure of a possible “four score”? This is not at all an end time Scripture. Any attempt at all to try to turn this into eschatology is a complete abandonment of contextual regard.
  2. You mean all prophecy where God sent the prophet, right? Not just any prophet?
  3. Huh. Makes no sense at all.
  4. When we take all Scripture symbolically that is allegory. The problem with allegory is that you can make Scripture say anything you want it to. Also, many times in the Bible what God does may not match man’s “logic”. Healing, raising the dead, creating, multiplying loaves and fish, rapture, heaven, hell, miracles. These all do not fit man’s logic. Doesn’t matter. God is in charge. We don’t get to vote. Our job is to trust Him.
  5. DeighAnn, Ps. 90:10–“ The days of our years are threescore years and ten; if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” This verse is speaking about the brevity of life. The words “we fly away” here in context are speaking about our spirit at death. This isn’t at all about the rapture. The church is not mentioned at all in this verse. In fact it doesn’t exist at this point. The church is founded by Jesus Christ and never existed before Him. The church did not get to heaven before the Lamb. This verse in not about the rapture.
  6. Are you kidding? You can’t possibly be suggesting that Paul the apostle, who wrote 13 New Testament books, and God called to take the Gospel to the Gentiles, was not a believer. Is that what you are saying?
  7. We have to remember that Jesus founded the church. The church did not produce Jesus. The woman is Eve, mother of all living. Gen. 3:20 She would represent all humanity from which God would bring forth Jesus at his birth.
  8. Matt. 7:15-16– “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them” This scripture is clearly speaking of “false prophets” which are only a small portion of the apostate church. It does not address regular church members who are also a part of the apostate church. These you will not always know.
  9. Jesus said”But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” Matt. 24:36 We know we see the signs of the Lord’s coming in a changing world. But that is where it stops. No one knows when, and anything counting years, days, missing years, special calendars, holidays, feelings, or any other information regarding when, is date setting. And the Lord clearly stated that no one knows.
  10. If the Lord came tomorrow to get his church there would people sitting next to believers who would not go. The believers who would go would have had no indication who they were. Of course false preachers and teachers who are up front and center with false doctrine could be recognized. Not referring to them. There are many sitting in the church every Sunday who do not know the Lord. They are church members but they are not a part of the body of Christ. They are in fact the apostate church left behind by Christ at his coming. They were pretenders and posers but maybe they never revealed themselves with false doctrine. They are certainly still a secret part of the apostate church as will be revealed at the coming of Christ.
  11. You do realize we are talking about people sitting right in the pew beside you. Not recognizable by sight. The tares among the wheat. I don’t think it’s “pretty easy” or there would be no need for warning. I would hesitate to say that it is that clear to the “latter”. That is why many today of the “latter” are being deceived by the “former “.
  12. Who do you think the apostate church is?
  13. A lot of what we believe comes from tradition and context. Some things are personal convictions. Some have no inherent meaning at all. Some have to do with spiritual maturity. There is that truth regarding the convictions of fellow believers and offense. However the sin there would not be in the doing the act but the causing someone to stumble. For instance if you wore it to a ball game, probably no problem, if you were fine with it yourself. But you probably would not want to wear it to some holiness churches, where jewelry is looked down upon. I am a pastor and I remember as a young preacher visiting a church that was not my home church. The pastor there had some very strict views about a man having long hair. Now I did not have very long hair so it did not bother me personally. But while he was preaching I happened to look directly behind him at the picture of Jesus on the wall. Guess what? Yep, long hair as most pictures of Jesus have. Now I don’t care at all if he wants to have that conviction, but don’t be a hypocrite. Follow what the Bible says, where the Bible is silent, pray about it and follow your convictions.
  14. Welcome. Good to meet you. Jesus Christ is Lord
  15. Sure, it is true that God dwells in his people (born again) as his temple during the church age. 1 Cor. 3:16-17 2 Cor. 6:16 Eph. 2:22 1 Pet. 2:5 It is also true that in Rev. 21:1-3 we read, “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.” Notice that God will be “with” his people and not in them after the new heaven and new earth is introduced. Also, look at Rev. 21:22. “I did not see a temple in the city because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are it’s temple.” This verse states clearly that there is no temple there. There is no mention of a built temple there or a spiritual temple of believers in which God lives. Jesus is the temple for the rest of eternity after this point. God lives in the temple of the believer’s body while on the first earth but He lives “with” all believers and he is their God after the new heaven and the new earth, because at this point and after, he is the only temple in eternity.
  16. Of course He will not live there. The temple will be destroyed. This temple is used by the antichrist. The whole deception of the tribulation is that Israel will think that their Messiah has come and they will make a treaty with him for a seven year period. Of course he will break the treaty 3 1/2 years into it and sacrifice an unholy sacrifice in the temple thus revealing his true identity and Israel will realize they crucified the true Messiah 2000 years ago. No, this temple will not be God’s true temple. In fact Christ himself will be the true temple in eternity. As far as us being the temple of God, that is true, but during the church age only. God doesn’t dwell in our body temples in eternity. There is no need of a temple there because Christ is the temple.
  17. The new temple will have to be present by mid-tribulation because that is where the anti-christ will set up the abomination of desolation. Matt.24:15–“So when you see standing in the holy place the abomination of desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniel-let the reader understand” There must be a temple by then for the holy place to be present. But the temple may take a longer amount of time to be built than some think. God will be the one who sets the date of the end of the age. No one knows the day or hour. Matt. 24:42
  18. There is something so satisfying about knowing that nothing compares with God’s Word. It is not just the record of religious history but actually originated in the mind of God. 2 Tim. 3:16–All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.” Teaching=instructing, educating, and assisting discovery Rebuking=censure severely, lecture Correcting=making reparations, amending, discipling, enforcing obedience Training=developing behavior by instruction, refining God’s Word has all these qualities. Besides that it is forever. Ps. 119:89–“Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.” Ps. 138:2–“Thou hast magnified thy Word above all thy name.” The Word of God is foundational and permanent in every one who is a believer. Praise the Lord for His excellent Word.
