  1. One word: Discernment. Know the material so as not to be deceived.
  2. Absolutely. Some people really freak me out sometimes. like very, very creepy. Doesn't happen often, thankfully. Just an evil sense permeating their surrounding.
  3. Try doing something different and sometimes you'll discover something you should have tried in life much sooner. A musical instrument, fishing or just a harder hike. Something new can click with your spirit!
  4. He must have misplaced his heart of stone because the Holy Spirit moved him to compassion. I wonder if he ever came to know the Spirit that moved within him.
  5. Those being lawless and living in iniquity will know long before that day! The spectacular and emotional appeal of being the center of attraction by their partying buddies - in whatever pleasures of the world they are choosing to indulge in, takes priority over the relationship with God above.
  6. Matthew 7:21-23 is what comes to mind when discussing the tares amongst the saved. The reason Jesus gives for being unsaved is lawlessness or iniquity - depending on the version of scriptures. Apparently, the unsaved didn't have a saving faith which produces fruit worthy of salvation which appears to be the doing of the word of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. (KJV), 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (ESV),21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness. Edit: I need to add that it is the Father's will that the Believers listen to what Jesus says and do His will. Luke 9:35 and John 17.
  7. I can memorize verses but over time I corrupt them. I have to go back and double check the wording to ensure I'm still correct. I've also mixed translations over time in my memorization because I prefer certain words over others.
  8. Repetition creates habit. I memorize through remembering segments first by repeating mentally and gradually adding onto the first segment I memorized. Even at my advanced age I can still memorize verses and it can become easier once you develop a system that works for you.
  9. Lev. 10:10 You are to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean, Job 14:4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? There is not one. The concept of clean and unclean can be found throughout the Bible. In the N.T. it generally refers to people. 2Cor. 7:1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God. Our hope is in being cleansed by God Almighty in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet!
  10. The only specific sign post I see is the nation of Israel having been reconstituted after the Second World War, which is a physical event, or geographical but having any value in being a point from which to base any measurement of time moving forward, I fail to see one. I grasp for a means of measuring time in prophecy currently, and it's just not yet apparent. A great many generalizations. Perhaps if Damascus got wiped off the map that would be one also. Edit: A hearty hello to everyone reading this thread too!
  11. From watching videos about the Rattle in Seattle, the Christian group was denied their desired venue and given a permit for a park located in the midst of a leftist neighborhood. It appears as if someone in the Mayors administration was seeking a violent confrontation with Christians. After the event, the Mayor blamed Christians for the behavior of the ANTIFA radicals. My understanding is that the F.B.I. is investigating the incident but it's difficult to know the accuracy of this information. Perhaps it was God's will that there be a witness in the midst of those most debauched?
  12. I need a specific sign post to determine exactly where in the flow of prophecy we are all presently standing. Another problem I see is not knowing how quickly events may happen; a quick slide of events in time or a slow steady plodding?
  13. One verse encapsulates what I've read in this thread: John 16:33, These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Perhaps this post is trite of me but He has overcome on our behalf!
  14. I reside in a similar environment and view it as the deceitfulness of sin. It could change suddenly and the reality of the unconverted laid bare, and so forth.
  15. Never overbearing, demanding or arrogant. Always seeks the good for each Christian. Part of the mystery of the institution of marriage as per Eph.5: 31,32.
