Were our spirits with God and holy before we were born ?
Jedi4Yahweh replied to R. Hartono's topic in General Discussion
I did not say soul, I said spirit. It says God breathed (spirit) into Adam and he became a living soul (nephesh). The spirit belongs to God and when we die or any living being, the Spirit returns to God, but the Soul and Body remain. Man is a spirit, soul and body. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. - 1Th 5:23 KJV And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground (body), and breathed into his nostrils the breath (spirit) of life; and man became a living soul. - Gen 2:7 KJV -
That is why you can not grasp the truth...you have closed your ears to hearing anything but you want to hear. I personally have been on both sides of this teaching. I grew up in a church that taught me nothing but Pre-trib among many other false teachings and I believed them until I truly starting reading the scriptures for myself and stopped relying on others to tell me what it says. The Pharisees and Scribes which were considered experts in the scriptures, thought they had it all figured out about God and his timing, but got it all wrong and end up rejected the very one they were looking for. Has anything changed today?

What does the word "Torah" mean?
Jedi4Yahweh replied to Jacob Ben Avraham's topic in General Discussion
Technically there are 613 commandments but a good majority of them do not apply to most people. Some were for priest, some were for kings, others farmers, slave owners, male, female, and most were civil laws for while living in the land of Israel, etc... If you were to count all the NT commandments the same way the OT commandments were counted you would have over 1ooo commandments just in NT, 1050 to be precise according to Dake's study bible. http://www.wholebible.com/NT_commandments.htm -

Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it. - Ecc 12:7 How can your spirit return to God if it was never with God to start with. -
What does the word "Torah" mean?
Jedi4Yahweh replied to Jacob Ben Avraham's topic in General Discussion
Yes, Torah n Hebrew basically means Instructions also known as the Law, Commandments, Testaments, and Promises of God. It is the foundation of all biblical teaching. Nothing was to be added to it or taken away from it. It also refers to the 5 books given by God to Moses (Gen, Exo, Num, Lev, Deut). -
You have to do some biblical gymnastics to able to believe in a Pre-Tribualation rapture. The only "biblical proof" that you have shown of a Pre-Trib rapture is your stating the John 4 where John was called up to heaven to be shown what would happen in the future, but you twist this to mean "rapture of the church". This is forcing your opinion onto scriptures that it does not say. John had this vision of the future approximately 90-100 AD....based on that logical the rapture has already happened.

I agreed Torah is eternal and will never be abolished. The NT is not a addition to the Torah in same way the Prophets of the Tanakh were not additions to the Torah. The Prophets proclaimed the Torah not adding or take taking away. In the same way NT is not adding to the Torah but explaining the Torah. Even Yeshua said that he came not to abolish the Law and Prophets but to do what was prophesied about him. Yeshua said that he came not teaching a new doctrine but the teachings (Torah) of the Father. The Torah teaches anyone that adds or takes away from the Torah is cursed and a false prophet according Deut 12:32 and 13.

Therefore YHVH himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. - Isa 7:14 I don't see how a young woman conceiving a child can be a sign from God. Young women have children all the time. We must conclude this is referring to a virgin giving birth. Agreed, even the NT states this. Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. - 1Jo 3:4 KJV There are various views on origins of sin in Christianity as well, but most will say iniquity in mankind was passed down from Adam and Eve's disobedience in the Garden. No reason to disregard that sin originated with mankind though Adam and Eve. Even King David said he was born with Sin which was passed down though his Mother. Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. - Psa 51:5

Church by definition is referring to an assembly. In reference to the bible, it is referring to an assembly of God's people. Even the Israelites were called a church in the OT. I would say when two or more are gathered in his name its a church. This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and [with] our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: - Act 7:38 KJV And Moses did as the LORD commanded him; and the assembly [The Church] was gathered together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. - Lev 8:4 KJV Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation [Church] of the children of Israel. - Num 14:5 KJV -
Story goes Yeshua's mother Mary was a daughter of Aaron (Levite) and his father was from the tribe of Judah, but technically Joseph is not his biological father.

Agreed! God has not changed and his Torah is eternal. But you are near, O LORD, and all your commandments are true. Long have I known from your testimonies that you have founded them forever. - Psa 119:151-152 The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous laws endures forever. - Psa 119:160 Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. - Psa 119:89 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one dot of the Law to become void. - Luk 16:17

I think many people misunderstand what that scriptures is saying. Muslims, Judaism, Mormons, JW, Buddhist, Hindu even Satanist will confess that Jesus Christ was a real man born in the flesh. What none of these religions will confess is that God (Elohim/The Creator) himself became flesh and dwelt among us a man. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. ... He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. ... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. - Jhn 1:1-3, 10-11, 14 KJV

What exactly does it mean, "Let Go and Let God"? Most of the time when I hear this is when someone is struggling in their faith and walk with God and another Christian comes along make this statement. To me this statement does not ring true at all at least in how they use it. I had a dear friend that I helped lead to faith, and discipled him, and someone came a long and told him this exact statement and told him he was working for his salvation because he had given up his old life of drugs, sleeping around, and partying and was now living a completely a new life that was radically changed and was now reading the bible, praying, and attending bible fellowships, and preaching the gospel to others, with much joy. Unfortunately, because he was new in faith and had no strong roots, he took their advise and let go and backslide into his old life of doing drugs, sex, and partying, and now wants nothing to do with other Christians that talk about sin or living godly. We are never to let go, but we are to hold tightly to our faith and obedience to Messiah, and endure hardships, trials, and temptations for his name sake and never give up. We are to carry our cross, deny our flesh, give up our old life of sin and now live by doing what is pleasing towards God. Yes, there maybe things in your life that someone does need to "let go" of such as immoral relations, doctrines that are not biblical, and sins such as adultery, pornography, drugs, drunkenness, homosexuality, unforgiveness, greed, etc.., but we are to never give up living according to how Messiah taught us to live. He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it. - Mar 8:34-35 Strive [work fervently] to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. - Luk 13:24 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of [this] life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. - 2Ti 2:3-4

I know a lot of catholic anti-abortion activist groups who show up at abortion clinics to protest here in my city and around the nation. I find it strange to me that their head leader the Pope undermines them and supports such abominable practices such as abortion. I know the majority of practicing Catholics are against abortion, I am sure this will change with the Pope's support of such clear evil.

In general TV, News, Entertainment, even Sports has become nothing but a tool for indoctrination especially for kids. I gave up watching TV awhile back, my spirit became grieved every time I would turn it on. I feel ashamed that I allowed my kids to spend countless hours in front of a TV being feed lies and reprograming how they think. They call TV show a "program" for a reason. You will be amazed how much stress free you become when walking away from TV. You will also be amazed at how much time you have on your hands to do other things such as spending quality time with your family, friends, reading God's word, praying, knocking out task that have gone undone for way too long. I guess if you can control what your kids are watching 24/7 then that may be somewhat ok, otherwise get rid of it. There is a very narrow field IMO of what is good for your kids to watch today. Even common kids shows and cartoons are being used to indoctrinate your kids. The days of innocent shows like Andy Griffith are over.

Another key point about witnessing to Jews or anyone else is you don't keep force feeding them with the gospel when they don't want to hear it. Jesus told his disciples to go preach the good news and if they don't receive you leave. And if anyone will not receive you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet when you leave that house or town. Truly, I say to you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town. - Mat 10:14-15

Scriptures specially says those standing around the throne that no man could number, where those who came out of the Great Tribulation and were from all nations, kindreds and tongues (Gentiles). You can not come out of something that you were never in. It does not say that they came out before the Great Tribulation but says they came out of the Great Tribulation, meaning they were in the Great Tribulation. After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; ... And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. - Rev 7:9, 13-14 KJV

Catholics Vs. Protestants (I don't get it)

I get what your saying regarding crosses do not save. Yes, many people do idolize the cross and pray to it, but this is not what the scriptures is saying regarding: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. - 1Co 1:18 This is referring the work that was done on the cross by our savior and bearing our sins, our sickness, our transgressions of the law, the innocent blood that was shed. He became the sacrificial lamb for our sins. If your read in the OT where Moses made a bronze serpent on a pole (Num 21) and told everyone to look to the serpent on the pole and you will be saved from death. This is a direct analogy of what Messiah did for us on the cross. "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, "that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. - Jhn 3:14-15 If you read later, Israel took that same bronze serpent and made an idol of it which God condemned. He removed the high places and broke the [sacred] pillars, cut down the wooden image and broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made; for until those days the children of Israel burned incense to it, and called it Nehushtan. - 2Ki 18:4 In the same way Israel committed Idolatry with the bronze serpent, many people today to include "Christians" make crosses and venerate them as idols just as Israel did to the bronze serpent. Catholics Vs. Protestants (I don't get it)

I never have claimed to be an expert in God's word, but at least I believe and trust his word. You only believe God's word if science tells you to. What are your qualifications...other than your son is a computer engineer, which you repeatedly mention as if that makes you more qualified to understand bibical truth. Ironic that your first choice for explaining biblical answers is your Rabbi Neil DeGrasse Tyson, who clearly denies the God of the bible and his existence. Speaks volumes about your faith in science, not God's word. Neil DeGrasse Tyson: "God is an ever-receding pocket of scientific ignorance." "The more I look at the universe, the more convinced there is no God." "I want to put on the table, not why 85% of the National Academy Science rejects God, I want to know why 15% don't?" "If there is a God, God is either not all powerful or not all good. He can't be both." -
The wrath of God does not even get announced until end of the 6th Seal foretelling what was going to happen under the 7th Seal. The 7th seal opening is the wrath of God: Trumpets and Vials of Wrath. And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? - Rev 6:16-17

Definitely a double standard going on here.
