  1. Most of us realize that is a scammer. We think do they really think we are that dumb, to fall for that? However, I have heard of people being scammed on dating sites. These people were on the Doctor Phil program. It was really unbelievable. One guy got taken for $150,000, his retirement money. He started sending large amounts of money a couple months after meeting the online "woman". After he didn't have anymore money to send to the "woman," he never heard from her again. Dr. Phil sent an investigator to Germany where the woman had told the man she lived. The investigator found a vacant business building at her "address." The investigator also found an innocent woman whose photo had been stolen and sent to the lovelorn guy. The same thing happened to an older woman....she lost alot of money, too. The photo of the handsome guy she received was also a stolen photo of an innocent guy. In both cases they thought these people were going to marry them....but they needed money to get to the USA.
  2. Wow, that's amazing. I knew they had voodoo but didn't realize it permeated everything to that extent! Nice that you all built the hospital for them! How did your group happen to pick Haiti?
  3. That is difficult....all you can do is to pray for her, and hopefully like you said, someone will share about Jesus with her....or perhaps she will return to you. It's also difficult when a child is raised in another religion, but one cannot really go over their parents' head to share directly about Jesus. In that case one tries to plant seeds and pray. I remember reading a story of a Jewish man who had a Christian nanny when he was a child. She couldn't speak of Jesus to him but he always remembered her loving ways. When he was grown, he got involved in alot of various new age, cults, etc. However, in the end, he became a Christian!
  4. In Bible college, they taught the Gospel of John is the best for unbelievers or new Christians since it stresses the deity of Christ.
  5. Salvation (Justification) is a one-time transaction. You seem to be confusing it with Sanctification, a process continuing throughout our lifetime.
  6. I think he meant the VAT people would pay would not exceed the $12,000 a year people would receive. Not sure if his concept is totally feasible. Perhaps if he wouldn't give the $1,000 a month to higher income people, that might work. I have heard of this idea before, but not as high an amount as Yang said. I just read about the idea more at Yahoo news. Apparently, it would be an opt-in system. Also, if a person opted-in, they would not get welfare or food stamps. Also, companies such as Amazon apparently have alot of tax loopholes which would be dealt with.
  7. I'm not against sanctification. Neither is Blood Bought. Now hopefully, back to the topic.
  8. I only brought up salvation by faith because a couple of people here kept misconstruing what Blood Bought keeps saying. They were saying he believes "saved by the blood to do nothing." He doesn't believe that.
  9. I like the NKJV because I have memorized verses from the KJV. But, of course, I prefer the newer version since it gets rid of the thees and thous.
  10. You are misconstruing what Blood Bought keeps saying. He is simply saying we are saved only by grace through faith in Christ's finished work on the cross (justification). He is not against sanctification. I understand, Blood Bought. We will have good works as a result of our faith and the Holy Spirit working in our hearts/lives....but the works are not what gives salvation. Christ alone is our Salvation.
  11. He said from a Value Added Tax. He said no one would spend anywhere near $12,000 that he would give you on that tax. I wonder if the VAT excludes food? Probably so. I think those VAT are mainly on luxury items. Great Britain I think still has a VAT. He said because in the future automation will take many jobs away, that was why he would give the $1,000 a month. He also said he is neither "left" or "right."
  12. Actually the second debate which took place last night was much more interesting than the first one! (I started to get sleepy on the first one.) The second one included Biden, Bernie, Kamela Harris and seven others. Yang was interesting....he wants to give everyone over 18, a thousand dollars a month! Upward economics, I think it was called. Kamela Harris scolded everyone when they were all talking at one time!
  13. When third world country people or others experience spiritual things from their "gods", these are demons or evil spirits leading people astray. There is only one God.
  14. Oh, I didn't realize that. I posted the topic here because I thought more people would see it. Sorry! Thanks LadyKay, I can always depend on you for a good laugh! We all need laughter!
  15. Oh yeah, that scary girl! Now I remember her! That was sure wierd!
  16. I was a very young child when we had Ike.... Eisenhower. So can't remember much, just the name.
  17. Mom loves Jeopardy, too. Actually, I enjoy both shows as well.
  18. Rev. David Needham, Multnomah Bible College, taught our Biblical self esteem should always come from the knowledge that we are God's children through Christ. Because eventually we might not be able to do certain things due to circumstances or illness. If we base our self esteem/identity on what we can do rather than on being God's child, we would probably despair.
  19. Of course, I loved the kitties.... But I really enjoyed Aaron Crow's danger act! I thought he would win. Besides his acts being amazing, he had great stage presence....very mysterious!
  20. I watched The Amazing Race, too...it was on at 9 PM and the debate was on at 6 PM. I did miss the last half an hour of the debate because my mom has to watch Wheel of Fortune (game show) every night it's on! Did get a chuckle out of about 3 of the debaters who would suddenly go into fluent Spanish! Then back into English. It was like they were trying to outdo each other. Sorry I missed the last half hour as they were starting to talk about the gay stuff. I think they would be all for it.
  21. Am going to watch to keep informed. Voting Trump again. Anyone else watching? They have another debate tomorrow.
  22. Sounds like a very good decision you made if he is a liberal regarding Christian values. Also, since he got angry with you, that is not a good sign! A Christian should always seek another Christian for dating or marriage.
  23. When the judges interviewed the comic, he was actually very funny...."I'm from that dark, swirling oblivion.....but right now I rent a one bedroom in Burbank!" But he sure needed better material for his act! I do like standup comics as long as they aren't dirty.
  24. Ayin Jade said it's something like 130 questions. Too many for me.
