  1. Maybe you and your spouse should pray together regularly (daily). Maybe pray together before you talk about really important stuff. When you look at him, remember how you felt the first time you saw him , speak accordingly, too. Ask (pray) to see yourself and others through Gods eyes the way HE sees us, really helps a lot. Keeping in mind that all we do is for The Lord , words of love not fighting , a vocation at home for us to love God through others at home ,too. Praying blessings upon each other and for others, and the things in our lives. Also, in talking stuff out, try to express back what you think the other said, so they feel heard (when people feel heard, they are less likely to fight) and you are sure you got it right, asking them to do same may help in misunderstandings. Is there anything you haven't forgiven that is coming up in anger over other stuff? (questions we need to ask ourselves) Remembering Jesus also has been hurt many times, for a long time ,too, and still forgives , so must we. Try to notice and focus if you are getting way upset before it gets out of hand. Try to determine the reasons behind the fighting , if it is disagreement on something ,or just other stuff behind the scene at hand, that is really the issue that has not been talked out or forgiven or dealt with sufficiently. Is it that either of you are really tired or not feelings well when having discussion at the wrong time maybe? Timing matter s ,too.... Just some thoughts. Try to stop! before it gets heated.... take a break... get back to it later in better frame of mind.......(don't let it go up to the boiling point) Blessings, elkie
  2. First off I do not think it is an "either / or " as mentioned in your question about parables. I think that parables are told or written so that the listener will come to the conclusions themselves, as opposed to just being told. The conclusions we come to are often much stronger than the ones we are simply told outright. ( led by the Holy Spirit in their heart of hearts and minds, contemplate upon the parables) In Him
  3. Hi willow, Yes, I do have ringing in my ears. I believe it is called :"tinitus". It is a constant ringing that has increased over the years. I have read that b vit and others can help, too, some think curing it is possible through nutrition etc. Over the years it has increased to several ringing sounds. I find that "white noise" helps to sleep, like having a fan on etc, or soft harp music. Thanks for tip, might try ear plugs when on comp. It is normal if some one has temporary ringing after too loud of music or sound for temporary time. But, should go away again. Repeated exposure to loud sounds, music, traffic, noise will do permanent damage if there is not sufficient down time (total quiet time sufficient enough for ear to recover). Going to a concert that is way loud can leave ears with a numbing ringing for a day even. However the levels that people are listening to music these days are actually causing their children hearing problems (so sad). I think that comp ringing is unhealthy for the ears and some comps are quieter than others. Some people are sensitive to the light on comp as well. What we see is actually what is left over from the previously lite up, so it has some type of flickering effect that can bother some people. Generally speaking, I think exposure to comp or tv should be limited for better health for several reasons. I also had above average hearing when I was younger. About sight; I found when living with out modern light, (no light bulbs etc; only candles or lantern for a period of time) that my ability to see in the dark increased and I had not known previously that that would or could happen. But, after I was living in a modern way with light bulbs again it decreased to see at night so well as when in softer lights like candle or lantern. Kinda interesing. Thanks for your post and suggestions, Blessings, elkie
  4. VICTORY! GREAT VICTORY FOR WOMEN AND UNBORN CHILDREN OF SOUTH DAKOTA!!!! Planned Parenthood
  5. VICTORY: Last Abortion Clinic in South Dakota Closes 7/25/2008 LifeSiteNews (www.lifesitenews.com) Planned Parenthood closed its doors after their abortionists, who are flown in from other states, refused to work under the new law. SIOUX FALLS, SD (LifeSiteNews) - On Monday, July 21, eight women arrived at the Planned Parenthood office in Sioux Falls in South Dakota for abortions, but were instead met with locked doors and a hand-written note indicating the only abortion clinic in South Dakota was closed. Planned Parenthood closed its doors after their abortionists, who are flown in from other states, refused to work under the new law that went into effect last Friday. The law orders abortionists to inform patients of the humanity of their babies and that the procedure could affect their mental health two hours before the abortion is set to be performed. The law also provides that abortionists can be sued if they do not comply. This law was the brain-child of attorney Harold Cassidy and passed with the help of determined pro-life leaders Dr. Alan and Leslee Unruh, who pushed for the regulation in the face of opposition, even from some in the pro-life movement. The Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals cleared the way for the law's enactment last week. It remains unclear if the Planned Parenthood office has permanently ceased the practice of abortion. However, several women who were scheduled for abortions this week went to a pro-life center instead, where some have reportedly changed their minds about having abortions. "The closing of this clinic is historic in that South Dakota is, for the time being, the first abortion-free state," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "It didn't take the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and it didn't take a new President or a new Supreme Court. It took the courageous determination of pro-life heroes like Mr. Cassidy and the Unruhs who saw an opportunity to save lives and pressed on until their dream became victory." "We applaud their efforts and encourage other states to emulate their campaign," said Newman. The Unruhs are currently involved in the Vote Yes For Life Campaign, which would effectively ban abortions in South Dakota, putting the finishing nail in the coffin of the abortion industry there. Text of the new law and links to the court decision can be found at http://www.voteyesforlife.com
  6. Dear Metadyjital, God is first, above all. Ephesians 5:15 - 6:9 Is good council. Many consider pre-marital Christian counceling from church. Also, how does the child feel about the person when one is wanting to marry and already has a child matter also. Children have wonderful insight to people, too. Also opens communication between family. No one should allow cruelity to children from anyone. Our little ones are entrusted to us from Christ. Our Saviour's words: "See that you despise not one of these little ones; for I say to you that their angels in Heaven always see the face of My Father Who is in Heaven" (Matthew 18:10) Blessings, elkie

  11. Amen. Great Scripture to share, Thank you, elkie
  12. No, I am not surprised at any of this; we as Christians know that this will happen as Jesus warned us in The Holy Bible. I did read of this before, However,I did not know they had decided to sue for the actions of the police. I would also like to see that article about in Canada, too. So, they don't want us to say Jesus Name. ! However they curse by it continually, isn't that saying it or what?! Or only don't say His Holy Name in prayers and worship, but, to curse is fine or what with these people?! (In the end times they shall curse by that worthy Name by which ye are called)(they will call evil good and good evil) Well, we are there. Anyone upon hearing Jesus Name cursed, ever ask someone, "hey, why don't you ever say bhudda or curse by some other name, why do you suppose it is Jesus Name you say like that" ?! Wonder if it makes them think at all when this is said to them??? I wonder what happened in court in San Francisco Ca this morning? Anyone heard any news yet? In USA the right to practice religion (Including CHRISTAN) should be free from restriction from the govt ( from stopping ; free speech, use of Jesus Name and the Bible) and of the hatefullness the gay and other agenda are perpetuating upon it, they are incredibly harassing and doing hate crimes in SF, Ca to the church there. (and they get away with it, too) Like hoisting the male stripper over the church during Mass etc and more...Yet, the Islamic can have a book that teaches to use force upon whomever will not convert and continue to try to make the international world convert to Islam by force and attempts to change international laws and other countries laws, too.. Forcing that horrible book called exactly what it is not"its perfectly normal"!!! on kindergarten through 12th grade to read advocating explicit homosexual acts to little kids to teens! This book was banned from prisons for its explicitness yet for kindergarten and school........ We see people of terrible corruption getting into positions of govt to abuse it for their own agendas. Hollywood is an advertiser of evil and it keeps getting worse in the movies ,the world , the social views and the way people act in communities, I see it so much. Christians in California are treated wierdly in public now and often, too. But, our brothers and sisters in other countries have it worse. It is so horrible to see people so blinded calling good evil and evil good. They are the ones with the hate crimes and saying people who love God are just because Christians love the God of Life and Truth. You seen that they are now saying the Bible itself it hate speech? I saw some crazy lawsuits going on in links I did not even want to read anymore of them! I recall one precious Easter morning when my pastor said, "evil" is "live" spelt backwards; evil is the opposite of ( to) live. All evil is about ends in death. ...and that is what evil really is, it is opposite of everything of the God of life. It will end in death. Including spiritual death and seperation from God eternally. Well, pastor said it better than I can here, but, you get the point. These words go far beyond word and pc , it is thought control and it is surely hateful to God and those who love Him. SO meanwhile they try to appease Islam who teaches to kill the infidels (don't they know it will mean themselves, too??I wonder if they get it yet) and make laws against Christians who want to love, forgive and teach righteousness. What a world. I know we just have to continue to draw near to God and do what He wants us to do,one day at a time. sufficient is the evil thereof in even one day. Although it is hard not to think about what is here and what we see coming, knowing the evil that is so against the God of all life that it will be blinding and using people to do what they did in the early centuries to Christians all over again. But, you know what I fear for? I fear for those who are blinded! I pray and try so hard to help people know who Jesus is, I always feel I need to do more and I know it is by Gods Holy Spirit they will be able to say Jesus is Lord, and the Father draws them, but I so want to be able to do my part and I am so concerned for family who do not know Him and are blinded and the blinded world we are living in. Prayerfully, we need to be diligent in what we know to do as Gods people, in loving deed and kind care and teaching who Jesus is to others. Oh Lord , Sweet Lord Jesus, help us to do what You want us to do and love others in Your Holy Name and please keep us in Your Peace and thank you Father that none can take us out of Your Hand
  13. I had always thought the "rod" meant like a "ruler or measuring stick" (not unlike a ruler you use when measuring inches for math etc) in other words, not for hitting but for TEACHING. So, do not neglect to teach your children. elkie PS HANDS ARE FOR BLESSING. BLESS YOUR CHILDREN in HIM
  14. Follower, it is actually a lot more than that. Anyway, one can do research and see.
  15. Dear Alex, You're not being stupid. This is some of the propaganda of changing parts of ancient pagan religions to so called new age to society and trying to incorporate it into everyday language and beliefs. We hear it all too often. People are mixing up bits and pieces making their own religions these days. Please get grounded in the faith and remember there is research from Christian sources that can be so helpful to you. I am glad that you love the Lord , that is such a great thing! God be your Saviour, constant helper and best friend
  16. It is not at all Christian and is heresy to believe in this(karma) for any Christian. It would seem from your comment that you really do not understand the historical teachings about it, nor the difference Biblically either. Any similarity does not mean it is truth nor full truth nor from the True Living God. There are many differences. It is too long to go into here without several pages of information. The over simplification is inaccurate that you have suggested, both to Christian belief and also to the non Christian beliefs that you are inferring to in a fragment here. ...the doctrine of karma, involving rebirths in the ascending or descending scale, according to the merits or demerits of the present. According to the law of karma (an unbending and impersonal rule of the universe).... Both science and Christian belief rejects this... ...there is no reincarnation of natural laws form the divine that we will be rebirthed at different caste over and over till we get it right. Nor or we equal to demons animals etc. Nor can anything we do work out our eternal life or salvation by mans works alone. Even nature tells us that hope, and not "nothingness", is what it is all about. ~~~~ Jesus spoke of people receiving either eternal reward or eternal punishment according to whether they accept his forgiveness during their ONE lifetime on earth (Matthew 25:31-46; see also Hebrews 9:27). Jesus explained that he came into the world "to seek and to save the lost" (Luke 19:10). He said that he "did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45). Jesus showed his forgiving love even while being executed on a cross. A thief on a cross next to Jesus confessed his sin and asked Jesus to remember him. Jesus responded, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43). Only faith in Jesus was required for paradise, not lifetime after lifetime of working off bad karma and building up good karma. As Jesus announced: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). That, indeed, is good news -- for this life and beyond.
  17. I need to say also though, there were some at the other church that were very much there for love of Jesus and I do feel bad in a way for saying anything about a church where the Holy Spirit still comes to warm the golden heart of the church in those who love the Lord Jesus Christ. Lord forgive me this. I was blessed to know these ones and appreciate them so much. I just wanted to clarify that. The greeters are volunteers, and I do think they were sincere, it is just that for me , well, although I do appreciate greetings, I also saw so many needs for more interpersonal interaction and loving kindness. I do appreciate the good things in this church also. I hope that is is helpful to all who do hear of our Lord and Saviour! I do appreciate all that is done for Jesus! amen Yes, the love needs to flow through us as Christians, I agree. Yes sincerity is easily noted. I should of put it that way instead. We need to be there for each other. on another subject; I met a woman in town once whom I spoke to about Jesus and she said what do I need to go to church for! what is going to church going to do for me?!! as she walked away, not wanting an answer so it seemed... I thought, there it is! What about what can we do for others by going to church and helping others. How I wish people would all run to Jesus not away from Him! Take care, elkie
  18. I have thought about the official greeters that some churches have since when I first was at one where they did that. I was not comfortable although was polite to them. But, I think that all Christians should be Christian-Family-Like in their friendliness and love to each other and new persons , older members , everyone. At that particular church, I also did the same as you did and I saw those who were alone and lonely sitting in the church (seemed like some were so needing and just ignored) and I gave them welcome and care that I could do. I think it is good that you did that also. My experience that it was not the place for me, you see an official greeter and people ignoring one another inside, not for me. I gave it a second go, getting involved there, being a part in it all I could for a long time, and still it was not for me. (I am not talking about two times, I am talking about a long time of being a part there) I found that everything is not about a "program" at all. It is about being real Christians and there for one another. No one should call for a ride to church and be told, we have no program for that! etc etc ( I am not judging any persons, only saying how it affected me and one of the reasons it hit me wrong was the lack of love for one another. It was not everyone , however it was too many. I don't think it is only the structuring that should be focus, it's the love of God in people or the lack of it. One can feel that and discern it, too.) I was most at home where God lead me to go to church, it did not have the official greeters of the other one I had gone to. However our pastor greets us coming as do people on their own, we all do that, and our pastor made sure to talk to us always when leaving! He would stand at the door and it meant a lot. He was available to us. He read directly from the Bible and taught so much. One could learn there. People were available to one another and we all have something to give to one another and need to grow together in Gods Love. Oh but it had the LOVE of Christ in so many and one could feel like coming home there. I had been in prayers about where God wanted me to go with my family to raise them and to be a home church for us. I know the Lord blessed us with this church. How it was for me and my family. elkie
