  9. What a wonderful thought! I've never heard anything said good about the "sounds" during a Church service, how refreshing! Thanks for making me smile and remember that the next time all those other noises so grate me.
  10. I have been on the receiving end of ministry after a sudden death and I have been the one God chose to use after a sudden death to minister to friends. Be there... plain and simple... take over food, kleenex, a can of coffee, be observant as to what is the present need. Does the trash can need emptied, did they bring in the mail, the paper, are there pets that need to be fed or walked, a litter box cleaned? Does the dishwasher need unloaded... all things the simple daily tasks that the grieiving person somehow can't remember to do. Just do them, no need to ask the family if you see a need and you are able to fulfill that need then do it. I have found that by being a servant unto my friends, I was able to extend the hand of God to them. In the weeks after send a card, take over some cookies or a loaf of bread from the bakery, it's the after care, when all the family, friends leave that becomes so important to the family... weeks, months after. Hugs in Christ Jesus, Sue
  11. I have seen name tags used on the members of a few ministries I watch on TV and I have often wondered about them. I guess I don't go to a mega church and there really isn't a need for them, but if there should come a day that the leadership of my Church feels that it is necessary, I will gladly submit to their decision.
  12. I can honestly say that I have never had that problem. If your edges are curling, then it seems to me that the batter is quite thin. I use a heavy batter, the consistency of thick Ranch Salad Dressing. The pan should be uniformly hot, but not smoking hot. When you place the batter into the pan you will see breaking bubbles and the edges will turn from wet to a dry pale color, this is when you know to flip the cake over. If you like the taste of your batter, just reduce the amount of liquid you are using in the batter to achieve a thicker consistency. If this doesn't work, try IHOP lol Hugs in Jesus, Sue

  16. Matthew 24 4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

  18. Hello mama, It is not sad that you're looking for advice, as believers we are to encourage each other and to uplift each other in prayer! You did a good thing posting your struggle my friend! You now have an army of prayer warriors lifting you up before the throne of God. I don't know how long you've been a Christian, but I do know that each one of us goes through this journey with the Lord much as a baby grows. Often I see people getting frustrated because they see another Christian that they want to aspire to be like. Each step in Christ is unique to you because it's a personal relationship. Jesus cares for you, knows what you need when you need it. If you rely on His Holy Spirit to lead you, not people, you will find that He will move you to the next phase effortlessly. It's when we try to do things on our own that we lose our peace and it seems our hope dwindles. If we can help in anyway, please return and post a new post. God has placed so many people here that have such a vast array of knowledge and are faithful to respond and help. God bless you my friend, be encouraged that He will never leave you or forsake you, EVER! Hugs in Jesus, Sue (PreciousSpouse)
  19. Hello my friend in Christ, If you have a desire to marry, that is a God given desire. This world teaches us not to marry, the enemy wants our flesh to live in sin. The God whom we serve is ALL knowing and knows the exact person for you, the exact time for you to meet and will let you know. He says He will keep no good thing from us! Commit this desire to the Lord, cast this care upon Him, He is so faithful! Remember that the emeny is as a roaring lion seeking whom he shall devour, be careful in this area, seek the Lord before dating or getting emotionally attached to anyone. May our Lord crown your efforts with success my friend, Sue (PreciousSpouse)
  20. It never ceases to amaze me how Jesus works. How he uses things to touch and bless my life right at the exact second it is needed! Thanks for listening to Jesus and posting that poem Dr. Luke! Hugs in Jesus, Sue (PreciousSpouse)
  21. A BIG thank you and a God bless you all for reading, searching, and for your replies.... My mom FOUND the scripture for me, and I see why you all could not because I said "young" and that I thought it wasn't from a "story" in the Bible. Forgive me for not giving adequate information. The verses are Isaiah 57: 1 & 2 NKJ: 1) The righteous perishes, And no man takes it to heart; Merciful men are taken away, While no one considers That the righteous is taken away from evil. 2) He shall enter into peace; They shall rest in their beds, Each one walking in his uprightness. Darby: 1)The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart; and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from before the evil. 2) He entereth into peace: they rest in their beds, [each one] that hath walked in his uprightness. I am sure there are many theological meanings to these verse in context of the chapter, but I was only looking for those verses, thank you once again! God's Best to all of you! Sue (PreciousSpouse)
  22. Thank you so much for your reply Butero and I value your thoughts so much. I know that I read it and I underlined it, then wrote in the margin of the Bible " Good to share with someone that has lost a child" This was 20 years ago, it was not a King James Bible. I no longer have that Bible, and the wording I gave above is the essence of this particular scripture I'm searching for from my rememberence in that contemporary Bible Version.... with so many different versions, it's difficult and perhaps with this version it wrote it so much differently... I do know I read it, it was in an easy to read version, and I would like to locate this verse. Thanks so much again, and hugs in Christ Sue (preciousspouse)
  23. Thank you Jade and thank you precious people.... I am looking for a certain verse in the Bible, I remember reading it years ago, this is not verbatim, but close to it... [ When the young die it for a reason because they are being protected from something worse in the future] I would appreciate any thoughts on this... I believe it was in the OT, not in a story of someone's life, so perhaps the psalms, I don't know, but I really do need this certain verse. Thank you in advance, Sue (PreciousSpouse)
