  1. This world is being deceived. Just because you don't accept something about someone, such as homosexuality or other things like drug use, does not mean that you are a bigot. Everyone in the world wants to be accepted the way they are, but there are times what they do is harmful to either themselves or others. I don't believe we have to accept those things. For example, a man is driving drunk. A man who is driving under the influence may have an accident and kill others or himself. We cannot accept this driver driving drunk but just because we don't accept it does not mean that we are bigoted against drunk drivers. We can love the drunk driver, pray for him, or whatever, but we can not accept his breaking the law.
  2. I didn't vote because I use more than one translation. I read the KJV, NKJV, NIV, RSV, Amplified, New American Translation. I like to compare the different versions.
  3. Be careful on these sites, just today I got two friend requests from x-rated profiles!
  4. I had to block all MTV and MTV2 stations and other video channels so my son could not listen to the junk they play. He is only 11 and he does not need to hear that stuff.
  5. I sent you a message. You are set to private and I cannot add you.
  6. I am OSAS, but only to the point where God will never leave a person, but the person can abandon God. I don't even know if what I wrote makes any sense.
  7. I don't see how one can be a Christian without Christ.
  8. I remember reading in the NT, that although they allowed more than one wife before, but they should only have one now. I think it was 1 or 2 Peter, but I don't remember where. Maybe someone can help.
  9. Right on, Ovedya! You should be proud that you are interested enough in your child to do what you did. So many parents nowadays don't seem interested in their children, and it is very apparent that you are very interested in your child!! I won't let my 8 year old daughter read Harry Potter, although she wants to. I told her that the later books are too scary for children under the age of 11 or 12 or even older depending on the child.
  10. I think you are nicer about them than I am. Good for you, Fiosh, and God bless you.
  11. I just finished reading two Christian Apocrypha books, one was The Gospel of Bartholomew, and the other was The Gospel of Nicodemus, both of which talk about Jesus going to hell (Hades) to free the saints. Sometimes I wonder how many Christians in the past read these books, and got their beliefs from them. These books were written in the late 3rd century.
  12. They always go away if you ignore them long enough.
  13. It depends on how you judge. The Bible says that a person will be given as much mercy as he gives others. I take that to mean that as much as you are forgiving to others then God will be forgiving to you. Here is a parable that illustrates this from Matthew chapter 18: Mat 18:23 Therefore the kingdom of Heaven has been compared to a certain king who desired to make an accounting with his servants. Mat 18:24 And when he had begun to count, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. Mat 18:25 But as he had nothing to pay, his lord commanded that he, and his wife and children, and all that he had, be sold, and payment be made. Mat 18:26 Then the servant fell down and worshiped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me and I will pay you all. Mat 18:27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion and released him and forgave him the debt. Mat 18:28 But the same servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. And he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what you owe. Mat 18:29 And his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, Have patience with me and I will pay you all. Mat 18:30 And he would not, but went and cast him into prison until he should pay the debt. Mat 18:31 So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry. And they came and told their lord all that was done. Mat 18:32 Then his lord, after he had called him, said to him, O wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. Mat 18:33 Should you not also have pitied your fellow servant, even as I had pity on you? Mat 18:34 And his lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors until he should pay all that was due to him. Mat 18:35 So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also to you, unless each one of you from your hearts forgive his brother their trespasses.
  14. That was pretty cool. It put a smile on my face.
  15. I would choose one of the Gospels, probably Matthew and John.
