  1. Huge Differences between praise and worship. We can't have an intimate relationship with Yahweh unless we learn to worship Him. It's more than music, etc. Moses' tabernacle is a good way to think of worship. The priest took care of things (Psa 24:3-4) then he worshiped last & when he reached the Holy of Holies. Worship is getting our minds off ourselves (Luke 11:2, 4) and focusing on Yahweh. Thanksgiving and praise is based on us. Worship is NOT emptying our minds but meditating on Him; i.e. 1 Chronicles 29:10-13. Certainly not an exhaustive explanation - We're to worship Him in spirit and in truth. John 4:23-24.
  2. Any scriptures supporting burying them or putting them in water? Here's where they were burned Act 19:19 "Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver."
  3. The yucky talk to me is the OP - one's view of women.
  4. Glad that she's consented to let you check it out. Also, sometimes people work full-time and go to school part-time.
  5. I assume it was written for a men's meeting of some type - since "in closing gentlemen?"
  6. Todd Bentley has/does prayed for people who are dying and they've been healed. Money has been collected about 3 times out of 3 weeks. *** I'm WOF!! Instead of viewing with specific mindsets why not just worship Yahweh.
  7. Haven't read all the posts - but it's definitely something we all need to get much better at - hearing Yahweh and obeying Him. Recommend "How to Hear from God in a Noisy World" - it was helpful. Plus reading II Sam 30 recently - David and his men found their families had been taken and their camp destroyed. They wept until they didn't have the strength to cry anymore. It says David encouraged himself in the Lord. Then he sought His answer to the problem.
  8. Agree that Yahweh gives dreams - Act 2:17 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" and everything He does has purpose.
  9. It's always amazing to me - even when we know what the scriptures say about a particular situation, we go by our experiences, our thoughts, etc. instead of what is in The Word. I do it too. It's a lesson I'm going to continue to face until I learn it.
  10. One couple we know BOTH apologize before they go to sleep based on "Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Eph 4:27 Neither give place to the devil."
  11. Salt has different meanings in The Bible depending on how it's used. In the geographical area where Christ Jesus was when He was on earth, salt was mixed with dung to cause their fires to intensify. Luk 14:34 "Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? Luk 14:35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."
  12. Yes, you're being called as an intercessor. Ask Yahweh how to pray for them.
  13. patricia1 - really like what you've posted particularly in post 9. Gen 29:32 "And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me." According to Matthew Henry CC, the children's names reflected her regard for God and her husband. To me, this name seems to be more centered on herself - but perhaps that's just me. Though some believe that after Rachel died, Jacob had developed feelings for Leah because he buried her next to his parents (Gen 49:31) and later was buried next to her himself. (burial request is Gen 47:30 and the procession is in Gen. 50). In regards to Reuben, I didn't see it mentioned but I could have overlooked it - He offered two of his own four sons to be killed if he did not bring Benjamin back to Jacob. Jacob also said Reuben was "my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:..." Yet said he was "unstable as water" Also, later why did the Reuben tribe want to live in an area that was not in the land that was promised, the land of Canaan? Why did they want to separate from the other tribes? Sorry if this has already been addressed They must have been a concern to Moses based on his blessing to them Deu 33:6 Let Reuben live, and not die; and let not his men be few.
  14. Christ Jesus wouldn't have been looking for figs if He did not expect to find them. So you know it had to be about the tree. Read that fig trees sometimes have a few figs on them before the main harvest develops - it's called first fruits.
  15. You're call - I'm with you.
  16. This prophecy is 2700 years old - Isa 60:9
  17. nebula - thanks for the reminder - "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour" (I Timothy 2:1-3).
  18. Either can be in leadership - it's His call.
  19. Whoever posted about certain people not being welcome in a church
  20. Psa 56:8 "Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?" CJB Psa 56:8 "You have kept count of my wanderings; store my tears in your water-skin - aren't they already recorded in your book?" Then sometimes our prayers are with tears - Rev 8:2 "Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and they were given seven shofars. Rev 8:3 Another angel came and stood at the altar with a gold incense-bowl, and he was given a large quantity of incense to add to the prayers of all God's people Rev 8:4 on the gold altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense went up with the prayers of God's people from the hand of the angel before God. Rev 8:5 Then the angel took the incense-bowl, filled it with fire from the altar and threw it down onto the earth; and there followed peals of thunder, voices, flashes of lightning and an earthquake."
  21. OP - of course, some people have more awareness of the spirit world and there are some other believers who are saying something has happened recently. All Godly spiritual things have a learning period. Now that you're a believer, you need some assistance. I encourage you to pm patricia1.
  22. To me the fruit of the spirit is more what represents our maturity.
