  1. Do they believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who came in the flesh, lived a perfect life, died on the cross and took on Himself the sins of the world, rose again on the third day, and only in faith in Him we can be saved? This is the foundation and if they are singing about this Jesus, and you are worshiping this Jesus listening to their music, you're going to be ok. I worship Jesus. I have found that Bethel, Elevation Worship, Ihop, Jesus Culture, Hillsong, all worship Jesus too. Their may be differences in theology but in the end, who ever calls on the name of Jesus will be saved and He is seeking those who worship Him with all their hearts.
  2. Not just emotionally discerned but coming from death to life, from not having God in my life to being filled with Him. To being suicidal, depressed, and angry to feeling peace, joy, and love, which is biblical. The Kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, What I experienced is what the bible says is the Kingdom of God. I personally believe she rebuked the demon in tongues and I was set free. Jesus said we know by the fruit. Many people know the word of God, yet the power of it is not manifest in their lives. Paul didn't understand what he was praying, so he did both. 1 Corinthians 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. 15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my understanding.
  3. My first encounter with tongues was in 2004, when I gave my life to Jesus. First let me lay some background. Before I knew the Lord I was deep in the occult, hooked on every drug that has a name, and running from God. He was chasing me and I knew it, but I was still running. One night, I was all alone and I started telling God off, I shouted question after question, even cussing him out with things I blamed him. The next day my sister made me go to church with her. I get there and have to sit in the front because my sister was best friends with the pastor. The worship started and I started to feel something I've never felt before, it was like love and peace became tangible and was giving me a hug. Then, I had an intense anger raise up in me and I heard a voice in my head saying, "I will not give my life to Jesus!!!" It was the first time I realized this wasn't even my thought. I had a demon inside me and this was the first time I felt disconnected from it. All of a sudden the lady on the worship team locked eyes with me and started shouting something in tongues and what ever she said, I was in snot and tears, the demon was ripped out of me and I was shaking and trembling under the intense power of God. Afterword the pastor came up and said, "I feel like the Lord wants me to change my sermon" and preached on everything I shouted at God. I gave my life to Jesus that night. The tongues was never interpreted, but the impact on my life gave enough interpretation. The next day I was searching through scripture and found 1 Corinthians 12-14. I read it and prayed, "Lord you say ask and it will be given to me, seek and I will find, knock and the door will be open, so I ask for the gift of tongues. A few seconds later my tongue started moving and then when I spoke a whole language came out. I've been praying the same language for the last 14 years, and has been a precious gift that draws my heart closer to the Lord in worship. Tongues for me is like downloading something off the internet, if you open the file mid way and just see coding, you have no clue what the full download will look like. When we pray in tongues, our spirit prays and things get downloaded into our spirit that will then manifest in our lives whether it be a deeper understanding of scripture and the nature of God, personal breakthrough and victory, wisdom to pour out and help a friend. The more I pray in tongues the more I see divine encounters line up. I believe when we pray in tongues, we are praying the perfect will of God. 1 Corinthians 14:2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
  4. Hi, if only you can see yourself the way Jesus sees you. You are worth something. If somethings value is based on what someone would pay for it, Jesus paid everything for you and is convinced you are worth it. Everything bad you have ever done, everything your ashamed of Jesus took that on Himself on the cross. He took your broken life on Himself so He can give you a new one, filled with life, hope and love. If you are sick of your life, Jesus has a new one for you. You are worth more than being used, and you are too precious to be treated like that. God has so much better for you. He loves you. He will never use you or lie to you and He will provide a way out of that lifestyle. I know a girl who was was trapped in prostitution and my wife prayed for her. She felt similar, and the Lord rescued her out of that lifestyle, now she is doing amazing. She's in school and leads worship at a Church. She now has peace and joy she's never had before and it's because Jesus. He wants to give you the same.
  5. John 14:12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. Mark 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Luke 11:8 Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you. 9 And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. John 20:21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Acts 10:8 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
  6. The Kingdom of God is the same as the Kingdom of heaven. Through Jesus the Kingdom was made manifest through healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead. In Heaven there is no sickness, there is no demonic spirits, there is no death. That is why he told the disciples after they heal the sick, cast out demons, etc. Say the Kingdom of heaven is at hand in Matthew 10:7-8. We can also see this in the Lords prayer, Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. and the reality of the Lords prayer is the Kingdom coming upon people Matthew 12:28 But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.
  7. The transfer from Final Cut pro to Youtube messed up the subtitles. I'm trying to get back on youtube with correct subtitles.
  8. Towards the end of this video, my friend Shawn testifies of God's power to change him. He gave his life to the Lord during the summer and the change in his life caused his wife to give her life to the Lord. Now he is leading people to the Lord all the time, sober, and getting off the street.

  10. I enjoy speaking in tongues, it has been extremely helpful for me to connect to God and pray and worship on a deeper level. It's from God so it's good and edifying and for that alone it's worth perusing, but it is not necessary for salvation.

    tongues

Actually Greek was the common language because of Rome, there was one common language that was spoken through out the land, which is the just about all of where the apostles ministered. They didn't need tongues for communication. Paul makes pretty clear the purpose of the gift of tongues, and there is a reason why interpretation of tongues is a gift of the Spirit. 1 Corinthians 14:2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. 1 Corinthians 14:13-17Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. 14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. 16 Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who occupies the place of the uninformed say “Amen” at your giving of thanks, since he does not understand what you say? 17 For you indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified.

Where in scripture is that distinction? Where does it say that speaking foreign language only a gift? 1 Corinthians 14 shows the opposite of what your saying.
