  1. Conservatives politicians fought the good fight for many years to try and prevent it from being reality. To make a long story short, it passed one weekend when the deciding vote was out of town getting married, and the Leutenient Governor walked it through the legislature that weekend. I find what you said above interesting because this is also way that our income became taxable without being eradicated by the majority of congress who were on Christmas break in 1913 when it was made law that we would pay taxes on our earned income. Taxes on our income slipped in through the cracks illegally! Ask the IRS.
  2. Irenicus, The war you are waging it between God and satan; however satan's job is to render you ineffective for the kingdom of God. Right now he is winning! I do believe that you have been set apart; however, you NEED to walk in your annointing. That's why the Holy Spirit is convicting you. Also...it is VERY important for you to be baptized. We are to pick up the cross and follow Christ. Remember, God was truly pleased with Jesus upon His baptism. Return to church and rededicate your life to Christ and BE BAPTISED. Complete the work that was begun in you! WALK in the annointing that has been set aside for you! BE OBEDIENT to the Spirt of the Lord. Agree with God's word! Move away from I can't to I CAN do all things in Christ who strengthens. You are victorious in Christ Jesus!
  3. God is our refuge and strength...and He is all knowing! Seek God for His peace in this situation. Whatever your friends beliefs...he's gone now. I believe that individuals who do not die unexpectantly have time to face their immortality and subsequently are more easily ministered to. Prayerfully that time of illness helped him come to know Christ as his Savior.
  4. So right you are! And this posting is so timely. Will you (we) be able to stand up and for Jesus? I say all things are possible for those who know, love, and hear , listen, and obey the Lord Jesus Christ who are called according to his purpose. Study to show yourself approved so you may be able to rightly divide the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15 So you (we) will be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:13 Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand. Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, Eph 6:15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Eph 6:16 withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Eph 6:18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,
  5. I'll take a stab at it. I believe that there are 5 basic beliefs that a fundalmentalist must aspire to: 1. Belief in Jesus' atoning death 2. Belief in the imminent return of Jesus Christ 3. Belief in the virgin birth 4. Belief in the resurrection 5. Belief in the errancy of the word of God I hope this helps.
  6. This is a rhetorical question that really deserves ponder prior to answer. I'm not talking about God's permissive will here. I'm asking, what do you believe..not think...is God's will for this Presidency. Then, I pose another question...does what you determine to be God's will determine how you vote? Do you expire to a worldview or a biblical view in making your decisions? Do you allow your values and morals to play a role? Or, do you vote based on traditional party lines? Do you see candidates as Jews or Gentiles (outside appearances) or judge them based on their eloquence (what they say)? The word tells us that we will know them by their fruits. Check out their voting records...that's the fruit and heart of what they believe. If it's not, then they are hypocrites. We, as believers, must let our light shine...by not only talking the talk, but walking the walk in every aspect of our everyday lives, so we won't be seen as hypocrites. We should not be ashamed to let our lights shine!
  7. The word of God tells us to watch and pray. We must be able to discern the times; however, with it comes responsibility and that is "The Great Commission." Let us be about our Father's business...then we can and will hear those long awaited for words..."Well done, my good and faithful servants."
  8. The information contained in the three links below will help you find your way. how to pray how to pray 2 how to pray 3 May God bless you as you search to communicate more effectively with our Lord.
  9. So true. We will never ARRIVE until we get to Eternity!
  10. a great place to start to grow up in the things of the Lord!
  11. Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered. And he that searchs the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:26-27 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is not fruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the Spirit and I will pray with understanding also: I will sing with the Spirit and I will sing with understanding also. I Cor. 14:14-15. Is there different ways to pray? Answer: Absolutely Praying is unknown tongues is a great way to pray if you don't know what or whom to pray for.
  12. I had a sweet dream that I've remembered for years. I was 11 years old. Christ came to me in this dream and talked to me about my attitude. I asked Him if I was going to go to heaven and He told me what I needed to do.
  13. Each of us should study to show ourselves approved enabling us to rightly divide the word of truth. Jesus trained his disciples for 3 years before they became apostles, before they were left to go out on their own. Prior to that, the training they received was from the synogues (sp.) and the examples set by Sadduces and Pharisees. Jesus talked and taught them from the heart of God. Now my question is, who can teach from the heart of God, but God himself, so we study the lessons taught by Jesus through His word. His name is...The Word of God! Do you have to go to a seminary to be able to do that? I don't think so because the Holy Spirit is the teacher. He resides in every born again believer.
  14. I believe it has to do with the condition of your heart. In other words, "what's motivating you?" Is your attempt to acquire personal wealth to enable you to give more to the kingdom of God financially...i.e. to do more to feed the hungry, and provide for those with no health insurance. I don't have a problem with wealth and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus said himself, I came to give life more abundantly. I believe there is duplicity in that statement, while on earth and supernaturally. Refer to the Book of Acts...Believers were wealthy and used what they had to further the gospel. Your heart has to be right. Look at the young rich ruler, He loved his earthly riches more than he loved God or God's agenda. It was his heart condition. The same problem was with Ananias and Sapphira. And...while Jesus Christ as son of man, was a carpenter who lived a meager lifestyle, as Son of God He holds the wealth of the world in his hand. As believers in Christ Jesus, we too are sons of God with an inheritance and privileges. I also believe that "poor" has to do with the poor in spirit (humility) not always and inclusively pertaining to financial means. I also believe that wealth is a mindset, just as happiness is. We all know that it is money/capital has becomes earth driving source. It used to be that people bartered with goods. However, since money has taken a front postion in this world, without it, there's almost nothing you can do. In fact, very basic needs are hard to meet without money. The word speaks about "the love of money" being the root of all evil. This is when money is your god and you place the pursuit of it above God the father and people...a clear violation of the two great commandments. 1) love the Lord thy God with all your heart, mind and soul and to love your neighbor as yourself. Spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through airwaves requires money; however, when you use those funds for self indulgences, self promotion, self edification, etc., I believe that's when you cross the line--getting into trouble with God. The word tells us that pride comes before the fall. Often times, it's not having money, that's the problem it's the love of it and the power that goes with having a lot of it that makes one prideful. And we all know that it was pride that got satan kicked out of heaven. He wanted God's seat. Often times, when powerful charismatics gain earthly wealth and notoriety, they forget their "first love", and begin to think of themselves as indispenseable, unapproachable and celebrity. Love of Money is the root and pride, manipulation, & control are fruits it bears. In many ways the prosperity gospel teaches one to put their wants and desires first. As opposed to the will of God over the will of man. If we don't hear God's voice to know what He wants, whatever else we do will not last.
  15. While I am unable to completely interpret your dream, this might give you insight. The word of God speaks about the separation between the sheep and the goats, Book of Matthew 25:32-46. I believe your dream is about the conflict that exist between individuals in the church. Some are sheep and others are goats.

  17. The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: the LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. Numbers 6:24-26
  18. Salvation is realizing that you are a sinner in need of the Savior, so you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, that He rose from the dead and you will be saved. Romans 10:9,10 Jesus Himself tells us that the sick need saving, not the well. Repentance is to turn away from sin; however, it doesn't happen overnight. As you read and study your bible, a sanctification process begins to happen. The Holy Spirit convicts you of wrong doings and you start to change. You must want to change. You no longer do the things you use to. God does not want us to stay in sin, so we must pray and ask God through His Son to break the bondage. Gluttony and gambling can be addictions; however, salvation is based on belief in Jesus' atoning blood. Just because Jesus' blood covers a multitude of sin, must we keep sinning. I think not. When we sin, we break fellowship with God. He is always ready to forgive us and cleanse us from unrighteousness. As it pertains to gambling and gluttony...God wants us to be good stewards of our finances and bodies. You'd be surprised at the amount of money you'd be able to use to help build God's kingdom. Pray for and receive deliverance. God loves you.
  19. organize a bowl-a-thon organize a walk-a-thon organize a praise-a-thon (ask some of the talent folks in your church to use God's gifts i.e. singing, pianist, drama, etc.) host a yard/rummage sale at your church (sale table space)
  20. Study to show thyself approved. 2 Tim 2:15...and read aloud so the baby can hear the Word of God.
  21. Every other week or so I would frequent this establishment. I had been going there for a couple of years, then one day, out of no where, a homeless man appeared. I saw him inside the establishment my next three visits. I thought it strange that this business would allow him to stay inside, where customers would feel intimidated. Nevertheless, they did. The first time I saw him, I tried to act as though he wasn't there...thinking that he would attempt to talk to me or ask me for something. He only spoke, "God Bless You." I responded, "And you as well." I thought...that was an unanticipated greeting. The second time I saw him, we exchanged similiar greetings as before. Finally, the final and third time I saw him, I felt led to share with him financially. While it wasn't much, I gave him $20. More than I had ever given a street person...and he wasn't begging. When he received the money, he said, "God Bless You, my sister." My sister? I thought...could he have been...naw. Immediately I was remnded about the scripture in Hebrew 13:1,2 Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Because I never saw the homeless man again, I couldn't help but wonder if he had been put in my path as a test.
  22. Jesus is ALL that! Praise Him!
