Classic. And you wonder why the general populace hates fundamentalist christians? I find statements like this contemptable beyond all reason. Steff, Please be assured that there are many conservative believing Christians (of which I am one) that do not share in this statement. I have been forceful with SA because I feel his motives are not as pure as he says they are. I would never go to this extreme however. Respectfully, Strservant To God every soul is worth saving, he is loving father who wants all of his children to come home to him. But he gave us free will to make decisions, so he will not force salvation on anyone, he asks us to believe by faith and that is enough for me.
  3. I spent some time reading throught hte Apologetics board and realized just how many members we have here who are not saved. But feel they have been drawn to these boards for a reason. This reminded me of how many Friends and Family members i have that are also unsaved. so i would like to take this opportunity to have some group prayer for the unsaved. My Gracious Lord and heavenly Father, I come to you today with a great burden on my heart. I ask that you would guide and direct me. Let all things i do glorify you Lord. I ask that would you Soften the hearts of the unsaved here on Worthy and all throughout the world, and help us to witness and lead them home to you Lord. We pray that you will keep us strong in our walk in our faith to you and let not the world draw us back but that we draw those of the world to the Father. In Jesus Precious name. Amen! Please add your prayers to this as i believe in the power of united prayer and think together we can accomplish Great things for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
  4. It sounds like you already know what you need to do, so i really cant add anything in that aspect. What I and the rest of the members here CAN do is pray for you, and that I will gladly do God Bless, Dave
  5. First off, we don't know for sure that these are the last days. The anabaptists thought the same thing 500 yrs ago. Being scoffed at or laughted at is no guarantee that you are "doing God's will". I think the persecution that Jesus spoke of is far more severe than being laughed at or scoffed at. Look at the people who were fed to the lions in the Roman days or the people that were tortured in horrible ways during the dark ages. Physical is PRETTY DARN BAD. I think sometimes people are fed up with evangelists because the evangelists are full of themselves......and their "view" of things.......not necessarily full of God. Jmo. you are partially right, but when Christ speaks ofthe persecutions he speaks of all not just hte severe or physical ones. Persecution is persecution. Some people just dislike us and persecute because we stand for God and say that all are sinners and in need of salvation. Too many people nowadays are so hung up on being self sufficient that they cannot admit they need someone other then themsleves to get by in life and in the afterlife. These are the same people that live by the belief that ignorance is bliss, if they admit they are sinners then they have to admit they need help. Again we come back to the issue of pride in ones self. We all need to strive not to have pride in ourselves but pride in our Creator and our saviour.
  6. More great advice, very nice post... i must say this thread has been convicting to me as well. Thank you.
  7. Thanks for the response. They do respect me as a christian and accept me for who I am so it's not that. Perhaps I do need to be more bold when it comes to standing up for what's right. It's hard sometimes. I think alot of times I take the easy way out and don't say anything at all. It's a difficult balance to find.... Yes it is very hard to ruffle feathers with old friends, especially ones you knew b4 you were saved. I still have some i havnt even witnessed to, so i am guilty of the same thing at times. As I said in an earlier thread, sometimes our own pride is the hardest thing to swallow. God Bless, Dave
  8. The Friendships are fine to maintain, BUT you cannot be somebody else when oyu are with them. You need to maintain who you are, dont let worrying aobut them or trying to fit in with them hinder your walk with the Lord. If they can't respect you as a christian then they are not true friends and at that point you should seperate yourself from them. I have many friends who are not Christians and i keep them as friends and am there for them in a large part because of that. When they fall down, its nice to be there to have the opportunity to pick them up and praise God for all of it So I would suggest maintaining the friendships only if you can do so without hindering your walk with God. If at any point you realize you are slipping away because of them, then you need to step back and examine the reasons why. I would bet it is a fear of rejection, or a need to fit in with them as they are long term friends. I know you will do the right thing, God Bless. Dave
  9. Yes, as long as we don't get into specifics as to how we think others are misusing, picking, and chosing, we'll get along F I N E ! :x: :oww: shh dont open that can-o-worms... but real quick note... the only way to prevent misinformation is to research and study for yourself, NEVER assume what somebody else is telling you is fact.
  10. I think the main point to make here is the bible was written in a way that versus can mean many different things to different people, and different things to the same person at different times. The bible is meant as a Guide that God through the Holy Spirit uses to guide and direct us. I think we are all different as peopel and therefore all have different needs and problems we need help with. The amazing thing to me is that no matter what your question or your problem..
  11. I hope you get things taken care of and can return to worthy soon. God Bless, My prayers go with you.
