  1. "Lord Jesus, could I trade in my free will so that I will absolutely obey all the time?" I know He would say 'No' because He wants me to choose to obey Him out of love, but I'm not satisfied with my level of obedience. Plus I have problems discerning His will. I guess I just want to be lazy and have my brain on auto-pilot.
  2. My favorite is Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:"
  3. Not mine. However, I need to wait on God. I will have to say that I've gone through some (if not most) of my issues. Had I gotten married when I wanted to (in my early 20s or even straight out of high school), I would drive my wife up the wall with all of my issues.
  4. I'm going to be turning 35 this coming Monday, still single, and reading that reminded me of a quote by Darth Vader in 'Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith': "Nooooooooooooooooooo!" Lord God, please have mercy on me and bring my future wife and I together before I turn 40 (or better yet, atleast let us meet before I turn 36...or even better, before I turn 35. ). But Your will be done. In Jesus' name, amen.
  5. I think that's the longest I've gone. I fast once in a while, usually for one day. However, I must admit that I didn't seek God during my past fasts except for my last one. Don't forget, check with your doctor to see if fasting is okay first if you have any medical problems. If you do fast from food, be sure to drink plenty of fluids and watch your activites. Also, a fast doesn't mean you have to abstain from all food. You can abstain from meat or sweets. In fact, you can abstain from certain activites like watching TV, playing video games (if you're a gamer like I used to be), or something.
  6. Like the old saying goes, "It's not 'The Ten Good Suggestions'." Lord, help us to obey You in love. In Jesus' name, amen.
  7. As far as I know, if Iran were to make nukes, they would be short range, thus unable to reach the United States. However, there still the possibility of suitcase nukes (sorry if that frightened you even more, tigger. ). Unless you can multiply yourself into enough clones to seach every person and package, or unless you have X-ray vision, dreading the fact that Iran is trying to make nukes is futile. However, you can pray that God will either hinder Iran's nuclear abitions or turn the heart of Iran's leadership from making nukes.
  8. In defense of the disciples, it was late at night when Jesus came walking towards them, so they didn't know that it was Jesus until He spoke. However, HIS girl, you do make an excellent point regarding how we tend to take our eyes off of God.
  9. I guess it could be both: the way the Bible stated it and as a modern day proverb.
  10. I've seen some commercials about that place on TBN. If I'm ever in the area, I might check it out. Better there than Disney or Universal Studios.
  11. That was great. South Park, eat your heart out. Nice job, jeff, and that's coming from somebody that's been spoiled by 'Justice League Unlimited'. By the way, just a heads-up for perspective viewers: you'll need Quick Time to watch the cartoon.
  12. Awesomeness. If I'm ever in Kentucky, I might check it out. I've also heard about the Creation Evidence Museum in Glenn Rose, TX. Has anybody been there before? I haven't.
  13. The phrase originally came from Psalms 8:2, "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger." Jesus then cited the verse in Matthew 21:16, "...'Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?'"
  14. Yes, prayer is your best answer.
  15. Thanks, Blien. Lord, please help me to accept this and keep it in mind. In Jesus' name, amen.
