  1. I really don't know your story, but it seems you are being torn apart, battling between your personal faith and that of your husbands, which brought you to this site. Reading some of your posts over the past few months, what stands out to me is that you continue to fight against Jesus and back your battle through your understanding of what you believe your faith expects from you. Yet, you continue to return to post, even if it is something negative about our faith in Jesus. You seem to be searching for more than you admit. I can say this because you have admitted that you would be in trouble with your Rabbi if anyone found out you joined a Christian site. Ignoring what is obvious, claiming there is no conflict, will only bury it deeper, making it harder to resolve. This post is not to discourage you from posting, as I know each of us have questions and the only way to resolve them is to face them. Instead, I encourage you to do just that, face the conflict that is within you. If you really wanted to be left alone, you would not be posting here, knowing the trouble you would be in if discovered. It seems that you are being drawn here for a reason. With my whole heart, I encourage you to look for that reason and face it. Shalom
  2. If purgatory were true, then the ending of the verse would change to read "but he himself shall be saved by fire", but it doesn't read that way. The colon lists two facts. First, those who lose their works will not lose salvation. Secondly, due to the semicolon, a like minded idea is presented, "yet so as by fire". What word tells us it is not because of the fire we remain saved? It's the word "as", painting a picture and not reality.
  3. Would you point to the scripture that would supply support your theory that "we must be cleansed by fire to become perfect". I have not seen this in scripture before.
  4. No, Paul was not speaking of purgatory. There is no such thing as purgatory. This verse refers to what is known as the Bema Seat Judgment where out works will be tested. If our works are of God, they will survive the testing and we will be rewarded for them. If they burn, we will suffer loss, but we will remain saved. You need to take this verse in context. Pulling it out of context is how people twist scripture to fit into their false teaching. 1 Corinthians 3:5-15 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
  5. Again, when read in context, this is speaking of what it will be like when Jesus returns, not just about "fire", which seems to be the center of you search. “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them. For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. “In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.”
  6. This speaks of the Bema seat where Jesus judges the works of the believers, not Jesus returning. Try keeping it in context to really understand it.
  7. It is not false. I suggest you take all of scripture into consideration instead of only verses that support your personal theology. 2 Peter 1:19-21 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
  8. They appear as they were, just with perfect bodies, is what I believe. Babies will still be babies and adults will remain adults. As for being like the angels, I don't have all the answers, but like John said in 1 John 3:2 "Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. " First, I don't have any problem with Isaiah 65, but it appears you do. We are given only glimpses of the future in prophesy. Prophesy is not all inclusive, which is why I always suggest we realize that not all questions can be answered through scripture. What you are asking is not addressed, so all we can do is "guess" at best. The truthful answer will have to wait until you can ask God. Remember, we see through a glass darkly, or in a mirror dimly. (1 Corinthians 13:11-12) With that, what do you think Jesus meant when John wrote about Him saying "Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”" (Revelation 21:5)? If He makes a completely new earth, will this be like the Garden of Eden again where everything was perfect? We are told by John a little further down in verses 24-27 "And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there). And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life." What does scripture mean that only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life can enter the New Jerusalem? Will there be others alive whose names are not written in the Lamb's Book of Life? Will there be sin again in the New Earth? If not, then why even mention it? So many questions and not all the answers are available. That is the mystery of prophesy, it's details are lacking and only similarities are given, for the most part.
  9. You do realize that when you refer to Isaiah 65:20 (For the child shall die one hundred years old), you are speaking of a time after the new earth and new heavens, as stated in Isaiah 65:17, which comes after the Millennium Kingdom and Great White Throne Judgment? For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind. Perhaps you should lay Isaiah 11 and 65 side by side and compare them. Isaiah 11:10 states that the Gentiles will seek Him, so that goes against your theory that nobody will seek salvation. If the animal kingdom is turned around, and people continue to seek Jesus, why is it so hard to accept that people will accept Jesus? We do not have all the answers found in scripture, so why hold onto a theory that has no solid foundation? I don't understand ...
  10. That would be true if we did not have the Holy Spirit. I do believe that those who are truly Christs will not be fooled, only those who do not have the Holy Spirit will follow such a lie. Matthew 24:24 and Mark 13:22 give me reason to doubt it's possible to deceive the true believers. For those who are not saved, yes, they will look to the AC with wonder and amazement, accepting his lies.
  11. Does your circumstantial evidence take into account that humans don't live to be 1000 years old and that new people will be born and populate the earth? Doesn't look that way to me. It seems you take the mindset of those who refuse to accept Christ and assign the same to all who will be born during that time, unless you believe nobody will be born or die during the MK.
  12. Glorifying God comes from the heart, not the mind for us to understand. Maybe you are trying to resolve what seems to be a question to you with a tool that cannot comprehend true glory ... the mind. When it comes from the heart, we feel it without thinking about it.
  13. Just a general request to tone our responses down a little. Remember Colossians 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
  14. Really? The fact that Jesus came to die for our sins and we have salvation only through Him, and He never changes, doesn't include the MK in your eyes? I'd rethink that if that is the case.
  15. I can do better than that. I will use scripture ... John 3:16-21 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God. Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
  16. If you truly understood my point, my friend, you would of understood that not everything that is to come is in scripture. Prophesy is basically an outline, not a point by point detailed description of what's going to happen from beginning to end. When we try to "fill in the gaps", we will almost always end up showing our ignorance in the end. Take it like I said, you see it one way and I see it another. We will know in due time who was closest to the truth.
  17. To some there is doubt, but I am not one of them. I correctly state that we have not been specifically told through scripture that people will or will not be saved during the millennium, though it strongly suggests some will be.
  18. Does the bible teach everything about what God does? I think we can agree that it does not. We are told enough to reconcile us back to God, through Jesus. We are not taught everything there is to know through scripture, which is why people use the phrase of "when scripture is silent, so should we remain silent". John even claimed that if all that Jesus did were written down, the world would not be able to contain all that was written. Since the bible does not tell us one way or another, we can only guess what will happen during the millennium. Your guess is that because you did not read in scripture that people will be saved, then there will be nobody that finds salvation during the millennium. My guess is that God continues to save people during the millennium, even if it's not written. For me, that reflects the true nature of God.
  19. No matter what we do, it will be tested by fire, and what stands through the fire will be turned into a reward that stays with us. The testing is known as the Bema Seat Judgment and is found in 1 Corinthians 3:9-15 For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building. Works that are labeled gold, silver and precious stones will not burn. These are the works God did through you. The works labeled wood, hay and straw will be burned, as these are work we did, not God through us.
  20. How do you get the word in you? Continuously read and study scripture so you can apply what you have learnt to your life. What we take in is what we become. But, since you capitalized "THE WORD", I have to ask if you are talking about Jesus as He is called THE WORD? 1 Corinthians 15:58 states "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." I'm a bit confused with your question as it is a very direct and plain verse. Can you tell me what it is you don't understand? As for your last question, the best we can so is be like Christ. Jesus is the only Word of God made flesh, as He is the only begotten Son of God.
  21. In the early 70's I worked for a tannery. Those of us who did this part of the job were known as Beam House Rats, as that area was infested with rats, to the point where the night watch person would hunt them with a 22. When train loads of hides would show up, we would unload them and place them next to the "flesher". The hides had been in the rail cars for days and we full of maggots feeding on the rotten flesh. Besides the stench of rotten flesh, maggots and rats, the process the hides were about to go through used very harsh chemicals, making for a strong, distinct order that would travel around town. The flesher would plane off the flesh and pump it into storage tanks. The hide would then go through a series of paddles that were submerged in chemical laden water in order to remove the hair. After the flesh and hair were removed, a special chrome agent would be applied in large tumblers. Though this is the grosses job I've ever done, it was the best paying job when considering the year and wage. Being piece work, we pushed each other pretty hard, but would normally make over $20 an hour.
  22. Here is a perfect example of what I've been trying to show all along. Allow me to explain. Is there any evidence for that in the Bible? I stated that I wondered if people will be saved during the millennium as that is why Christ died on the cross in the first place, to reunite us back to God. We neither read that the Holy Spirit has stopped convicting the world of sin or that God has closed the door to salvation. The reason why I wondered is because there is no mention one way or another in scripture. Yet, we humans have a tendency to push our theories as if they are facts, and when someone disagrees, they ask for proof. The truth is, we do not hear about anyone being saved during the millennium, nor are we told that nobody will seek salvation or that salvation is no longer available. Asking for evidence isn't even debatable with facts as scripture is silent on the matter. Let's learn how to recognize when our statements are facts from scripture or our theory we've developed through study when scripture is silent, and state as much when posting. There would be far less arguments if we do so.
  23. Yup, I fully disagree. Mind you, time will show if you were right or not, so there is not personal disregard to what you write. I just don't agree that Satan is bound at this time ... plain and simple.
  24. Good luck with that theory. Currently bound? Looking around the US alone one can see that is not the case. Never the less, I just made one original post to give people something to think about. If I had known I would have to continue on, I would of never done so. Prophesy has not yet happened, yet people debate what it means as if it had.
  25. Are we no longer living in the next life after being raptured? Are we no longer in Christ then?
