  1. I think it is still done today, and have even done so myself. I don't fast often like I should, but I believe He calls you to it for strength to with stand a situation using His strength. We aren't to let our right hand know what our left is doing, but sence you asked. There was a situation in my life I would not have been able to get through without His strength. The first 5 days fasted no food or water, after just had water, I lasted 20 days, the longest ever before was 5 days. I used my examples from the bible on how I should go about this, Moses, Jesus, 40 days no food or water. Daniel 28 days on veggies because in the kings chamber in babalon. Paul 14 days on the ship, I think he broke his fast because the men would not eat because he wasn't eating after giving the blessing over the food. I'm stuggling with whether to post this or not, but we wouldn't know about fasting if not for the examples in the bible. We wouldn't know it could still be done today without examples I guess. Much love in Christ Jesus, Sister Bridget
  2. The Church is defined as believers in Christ during the Church Age, which comes to an end when Daniel's 70th Week begins, the last seven years of the 490 year period of time alotted to the Jews. If the Church, God's vehicle of the message of the Gospel at this time, is still here then, why does God need to supernaturally convert 144,000 Jewish males in Israel? The Church is still here, right? I've never heard a logical rebuttal to that question on this forum or anywhere else, because there isn't one. The Church is GONE when Daniels' 70th Week begins, and the number of Tribulation saints will be too numerous to count, but the Church has nothing to do with it. It's not all about us, God has an amazing plan for Israel, study Ezekiel and Zechariah and prayerfully consider what I'm saying. Very few people spend time in the OT prophets. Thats funny I was just going to send you to Ezekiel 9 about the 144,000 getting sealed by God in there forhead. If you read 9:4 it's the ones that cry because of the abominations done in jereusalem. At 9:1 The nations are drawn near with weapons of distruction. In chapter 10 he sees the war from the heavenly perspective, 10:20-21 refers us back to chapter 1, were it's an earthly vision. Now in luke 21:20-23,he Jesus talks about armis surronding jereusalem, matt. 13:14-20, & mark 24:15-22 talka about the abonimation spoken of by daniel. If the christians are raptured out why only the ones that cry for jereusalem are saved? I to used to believe in the rapture, and one of my brothers said that when the rapture happens then he'll get saved. Why wont all the people waiting for that time get saved? Why just the 144,000?
  3. The way around the property taxes are to pay them far enough into the future to be able to servive when the pressure is on, but not forced. But when the mark is forced you could have your taxes payed 100 yrs into the future and it wont matter, you will be labeled a terrorest. Then it's take, or die. As far as being selfish, you could set up pages on the internet, stay at worthy board, ect. Many people view the web. But any time you could go out and do it in person you should. As you can see I've thought about this too. If I personally had a chance to get out of the city, I would. I would still make trips back to visit, fellowship, ect. My advice is to pray about it. God will lead you or keep you where He wants you. Much love in Christ Jesus, Sister Bridget
  4. "Saints" simply refers to those in Christ, it may or may not refer to the Church. You are conclusiuon jumping. Saints are the church, if belivers in christ are not saints, than who are they? The saints are believers, believers make up the church. The church is the whole body of Christ, right? The body is the all individual believers, right? Individual believers are the saints, right? So the saints are the church.
  5. I find that Noah was given 7 days to get all the animals and suplies in the ark. During those 7 days Noah was busy doing the Lords will of getting the animals on the ark. That plainly says saints. The man of sin/perdition will be in power while the saints are still on the earth. We do not get "raptured" out untill after he is in power, and does things that will wear us out. In othr words we will go thru tribulation for a witness to the most High God, Jesus Christ. This makes me think of todays times, the old timers, who made sure people not just their kids were held acountable for the morrals of God. Look at the old man that was beaten up and robbed, yet the by-standers just watched and did nothing. How about this prosperity preaching? Where did Jesus say we are to be rich? I remember Him saying lay your treasure in heaven, because where your treasue is so is your heart. How many people would go hungrey for one day, so someone who hasn't eaten in a week can have something? We are to be like Jesus, yet look at how much of an impact TV preachers could have, if they lived a more poverty driven life, millions would see the heart of Jesus. I bet Jesus went hungrey so the poor could eat. Remember the pharisees were the religeous leaders of their day. Putting their theology, ideaology, and man made rules into worship practice. What did Jesus do, He rebuked them, for miss leading the sheep. The word of God is sharper than a two edge sword, it will cut if yur walking in sin. How many deciples did he start with? Alot were there for the healings, but when He spoke truth, many departed. This is an hard saying who can hear Lord? Not many, only 12 stayed. What about the rest of us? Are we really willing to die for our belief, if we complain when we sit in church uncomfortable because of heat/air-conditioner problems? Have we become so comfortable with these modern convinances that we wont be able to stand when things get a little tuff? There is much love in Christ Jesus, Sister Bridget
  6. Blien, Notice that in Eze. 9:4-6 And Rev.7:2-4 talk about the sealing of believers in the forhead. So Eze. and Rev. are lined up, differant peoples words to describe event. In Eze. chapter 1 Ezekiel saw this from an earthly perspective, Eze. 1:4-5 it was like a whirlwind, came fast, and cloud, covered massive space. Eze. 9 & 10, Rev 4:7-8 are from an heavenly perspective. Rev. 4:10 & Eze.8:16 talk about a number of men worshiping, rev. # is 24, Eze. # is about 25. But notice in Eze. the Lord shows Ezekiel that they have there back to the alter, and praying to the east? In Eze. 1:10 & Eze. 10:14 & Rev. 4:7 1 lion 2 eagle 3 man 4 ox/cherud/calf Notice how 3 of the faces are the smae every time? The fourth one differs. In Eze. 1 he calls this thing creature, something he's never seen before. In Eze. 9 he calls it cherub (angel), we now that satan is an fallen angel. In Rev. 4 Its called a beast, (Daniel) beasts are kingdoms(governments). 1 lion - feared, stregth, Is the lion the king of other beast in the jungle, like in lion king? 2 eagle-soars in the clouds, someone pionted out symbol for babalon. 3 man-earthly government, ideas, man-made, 4 ox/cherub/calf-notice the cherub is between the acceptible sacrifes. False religon. creature- man-made cherub- fallen angel beast- government. This is a war that is fought on earth and in heaven. It also happens right after the 144,000 get the seal of the living God in their forheads. He was trying to discribe it as best he could. Now we know Daniel was to seal things up, so was john in Rev. I have always wondered what the 7 thunders uttered in Rev. 10, he did let us know something is going to happen, but couldn't tel us, I've always wondered why? I believe this to be all the nations that come agaist Isreal. In Eze. 9:1-2 all are called and have weapons of distruction. In Eze. 9:4-6 God says to seal the men that cry for the abominations done to Jerusalem, before the battle can begin. In Eze. 9:8 Ezekiel wants to know about the residue of Isreal in His pouring out of fury on Jerusalem. In Eze. 9:9-10 God says He is recompensing the evil back on the peoples heads that they comitted. In Eze. 10 Ezekiel discribs the battle to the best of his ability, letting us know Eze. 10:20-21, that it's the same vision as in Eze. 1, and the 2 different perspectives by refering us back to chapther 1. I still think the wheels are referance to modern vehicles, airplans, ect. because in Exe. 1:23 he tells how the wings are lined up across from each other on the left and right sides. In Eze. 1:24 he talks about the noise of their wings, the engiens are an the wings. In Eze. 10:17 he says the spirit of the living creature was in them. We also know that the earth is considered the Lords footstool, so it would be under His throne. What do you think???
  7. Ok blien I may be way off. But verse 8 said they have the hand of man under their wings. verse 16 talks about them lifting off of the earth. My best guess is he was trieing his best to descibe an airplane. My second guess is verse 14 being the different faces that like daniel, he had a vision of world governments. My third guess is combine the two, airplanes in a wars, with the goverments either at war with each other, or an alieace between the four. ?????? Thats just my guess, I will have to pray and study this further. Your thoughts on mine thoughts??
  8. If spanking doesn't work, then how come back in the 90's when the boy went to singapore and did graffity and gotten caned, he did not dis-obey any of the laws over there after that? He was not in jail, if it didn't work why not rebel again? Because he was afraid of someone actually backing up the threat. As a child I was spanked, so was my 3 brothers. When i hit the teenage years, then came the time outs. My mom was a pushover, didn't last long, not long enough to make an impact. My youngest brother had recieved less spankings, he also was the one who had gotten into the most trouble. He stole the family car, and recked it, us older children would never have done such a thing, to afraid of the conciquences. Mom spent alot of time praying for him, it wasn't untill after her death that he finalliy changed. At the funeral alot of the neighbor hood thugs my brother hung out with, said how they wished my mom had been their mom, that they wouldn't be out doing those things if so, like I said, my brother changed, quite hanging out doing wrong. I have a 16 year old daughter, who I have spanked. She herself sees that kids her age need to have been spanked, and even now need a good kick in the pants. She is in the top 15 of her class, and realizes the importance of school. My friend was over back in the summer, some of the kids were out side making to much noise. My friend called for her 2 teen age kids to come in, they ignored her. I knew my daughter would come in when they did, so I delayed calling her, at the 3rd call, I also told my daughter it was time to come in. All the kids were making fun of her for coming on the first call, I her her yell back over her shoulder that she wasn't getting into trouble for anyone, she'd just gotten off being grounded, and wasn't about to go back on. Why did I only have to yell one time, and my friends kids came in when they were ready? Because my daughter feared the punishment, that started in her toddler years, she knew that there are conciquinces, where her friendes haven't had there parents follow throgh every time. The older a child gets when you try to enforce your rules, the more rebelous they become. My friends kids have brought her to tears many times, she just gives up and says when thay are older they'll see, will they? My daughter knows that when grouded not to go out, if she would sneak out, she'd go back to being spanked no matter how old she gets. My youngest brother actually says I'm to soft on my daughter, because I also talk and explain things to her. He thinks I should just spank her and say because I'm the parent and I say so. This is surprising considering he was the one who had the lightest punishment, 3-4 times literally was all the spankings he had in his life. He says if he'd been spanked more like us older kids, rather than haveing to stand in a corner, which we usually only spent, 5-10 minutes max. What do you learn by that? If spanking punishment is out of date, then why are more kids disrepectful to there parents, than they were 100 years ago? Why has crime gone up, stitistically per the same ratio per people as 100 years ago? You can't say because more people in the world, because, if this same amount was back then there crime would be lower, so why are we worse at listening to authority? So when you question Gods authority, you are saying it's OK if your child thinks you are a tyrant? That you are selfish for the rules that you try to inforce? Not all creation is Gods children, because of their chioce. If someone murdered your child, what would you do? How would you want to punish him? Now what if the tables are turned, it was your child who committed the crime. What would you do, turn your back and say, they made there bed, now let them lay in it? What if they were tricked into it, and didn't quite know the crime, or the punishment, what would you do then? Do you know what God has done for us, or how God punishes us? By knowing we messed up so bad in the garden allowing sin in, that we are going to spend eternaty without him, He paid a price to bring us back to Him. He sent His only begotten son to take your place, to pay a debt He did not owe, and one that we did, but couldn't pay. He set in motion for us to be born again into His family, and those that are His, He will protect to the death. But those that reject this invetation back into His family, will have to pay that debt all on there own. It will take an eternaty, and still not be paid, that's how bad the punishment. So I guess we are the 2-4 year olds throwing the temper tantrums, not God. How does your child know what is best for him/her when they don't understand and obey the rules? Do you put those rules there just to show your authority, or because they keep the child safe? Because they don't understand the importance, does that make your rules unfair in his/her life, or are you still going to enforce the rules you set up? No matter what, we are Gods creation. Bottom line His creation, His rules. How can a cup question its creator for making it a cup, and not a bowl, a plate, and so on, and so forth? How can that which is created question that which created it, and the bounderies that was set for it? Can a plate whine and question its bounderies for the job it was created for, that it can't do the job of a cup? Who is man to question its bounderies or rules set foth by the one who created man?
  9. I believe he is 100% true with his message, only I think it goes across the board. I think even adults need to go to the bible, daily studying to show themselves aproved. How many times do we forget things that we've learnd, and need to brush up on? How much of the things from school do you remember? If you had to take an S.A.T. would you go back and restudy some subjects? It's the same with the word of God, just because you learnd something earlier doesn't mean that you remember it right. I know I've been guilty of this myself, not studying regularly, it's easy to be mislead, even a little in the wrong direction. You know you've read the subjuct, but some how it's not quite right, yet you can't put your finger on it. Your friends even say that sounds right, you can even understand the twist of scripture, maybe even accepting. But the Holy Ghost deep down inside won't let you go, keeps nagging, untill you pick up the bible prayerfully saying show me Lord. Then you end up re-reading a subject you thought I'm OK in this, and you find, you were originally right in the meaning of scripture. That someone was misleading others, and you were caught rusty, unable to point out the lie the devil is pulling over peoples eyes. The devil wants us to believe we know the bible better than we do, so we won't study to show ourselves aproved. Just like you had 12 years of school, you still study, and study, and study before taking an S.A.T. right? I mean if you don't trust yourself to remember 12 years of learning, why trust yourself to know bible info without having to study it constantly? What's the differance between 12 years of secular study, and the bible, they are both info we wish to learn, right? Paul did tell Timothy to study to show himself aproved, what makes us any different? Rather than take someones idea about how we need to do things, we need to make sure our actions line up with the word. If not, then we are just like the phareseis, putting our interpretion into what is said, rather than God. We are in the world, not of the world. We are strangers in a strange land, does our life reflect that? Do we dress and act like the world, or can people see that we're not from around here? Gods people are pecular, we should be like pecular. Daniel was pecular, it got him thrown to the lions. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego was peculaer, they were thrown into the firey furnace. Stephan was pecular, he was stoned to death. There are many more that were pecular, who met some persicution, some even to death. Why do we here in America think everything will all be rosey, and no conflict? Jesus said the world would hate us, because it hated him first. What makes the servant greater than the master? Persicution will bring out the light that's inside of us, or show that the light was never in us. When do you see the light from a lighthouse, when it's bright and sunny, and everything is rosey, or when it's dark and stormy, with turbulant waves of persecution? We here in America don't know persecution, yet, but I believe it is comming, because I believe Gods word, every word in the bible. May our lights shine bright in that dark and stormy night, for night is comming when no man can work, all we can do is shine to the end.
  10. Well by making the bible more politicaly correct, it's just one step closer to making it watered down enough to blend in with all the other religeons of the world. How else can there be a falling away, in the end times, unless the truth be distorted? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were not politically correct, or they would have blended in and bowed to the statue and not been thrown in the fire. Daniel was not politically correct either, or he would not have been thrown to the lions for praying in his own house. God is God, gravity is gravity. No matter what I throw in the air, it is going to fall back to earth. No matter how they try to change God, He is that He is. So the real question is are we politically correct, or God correct? I'm going with my God, my savior, the living water, Jesus Christ.
  11. Who is that 2-4 year old to question the action of the parent? God did create us in his image. That means emotions as well. Do you want your children to love you, so does God. He created servents, the angels, now he created children. One angel decided to put himself above God. We have a choice, to eather become his children, or rebel like 1/3 of the angels. It's our chice, just like your children have a choice to obey you or rebel and end up in prison one day. Do you get angry when your child dis-obeys you? What would you do, punish them? God also must punish sin. With out that fear, children will do all kinds of wrong. But sadly, we are not remembering as we should the fear of punishment, and the world will be distroyed agian, this time by fire. Only a loving father keeps giving his children warnings, and chances to change, and to obey the rules he set for the child. But to many warnings with no action backing it up, and the child no longer fears the punishment, and thinks you are an unfair parent. But who is really being unfair the parent, or the child?
  12. I haven't read any of the other posts yet, but I think we are sinners that are saved by grace and retain the sin nature in the flesh. I believe because Paul himself had addressed this in Rommans, he spoke how we have a war within ourselves, the flesh man is in war with the spirit man that we have now become. I think this is why we have daliy fellowship with our Lord Jesus christ, in prayer and bible study. If Paul himself said he wars with this what makes us any different? Also in Hebrews it says we have an high priest(Jesus) in heaven at the right hand of the father should we mess up and give into that sinful nature. Are we to purposely do things that are flesh related? No, we are to try our best, but the law can no longer hold us guilty if we stumble, because we now can take all our offences, and slip ups, and cover them under the presceous blood of Jesus. The differance is now the spirit man is awake with in us, showing us the error of flesh man, this is why the christian has a change. The guilt the spirit man puts on the flesh man, now guides us to an inner, the man that is gong to win is the man we feed. We decide what man we feed by the things we watch, read hear and do. If we want a stronger spirit man, than that is the one we cater to. I am guilty of feeding the flesh man from time to time. Thst is why we are indepted to Jesus, by taking up our cross daily. What we had trouble laying down yeaterday a hold in the flesh, we have a new chance daily of over coming our bad habbits, that we might nail them once and for all to the cross. Much love in Christ Jesus, Sister Bridget

  14. Anothrer perspective to think about......how would you feel...... If you marry someone who was married before, and that person said they loved you, but instead of celibrating your aniversory or birthday, said sence I'm used to celibrating the days of my ex, I'm still going to use those days, but rather than thinking of my ex, these days are yours. I know that it's not excatily our anaversory, the the day I'm used to celebrating on for an aneverory, I won't be thinking of the past, but us. I will also take the day I used to buy the ex presents for an now buy you present for your birthday. Would this be OK with you? Because this is exactly what we are doing when we take days to celebrate that He never set for us. Just something the Lord put on my heart. Much love in Christ, Sister Bridget
  15. This makes the most sense throughout this thread. I do have one question though. The post at the very beginning, left by cajun, I wonder how that is any different than what they teach in Anger Management. Not to say that cajun is a rageaholic, but it can be argued that while indeed setting his mind on God all day had helped him in several situations, it wasn't actually God that helped but the fact that he had conviction enough to focus on something other than the issue. They teach the same method in Anger Management. I also wonder if "Satan" is just an excuse to feel a certain way, like irritation or anger. Cajun, you mentioned "Satan setting his teeth in". But you have control, correct? You have control over what you feel and why. If you get irritated at another driver, its your feeling, brought on by things you dislike about idiot drivers. Blaming it on "satan" only misplaces responsibility. Its as though "satan" has more power over you than you. Is that true? Does "satan" have more power over us than we do? If so, that would make him a god, or demigod at least. We dont believe that do we? Do we? It's interesting that you would bring the latter part up because we actually had a whole discussion about "blaming it on Satan" in controversial. I'm gonna look for the thread and post it here. Okay HERE it is. I read some of them, some of the bigger ones, i cant really read it through all the way because im at work but i do think its interesting, the trend that I'm picking up on. A lot of christians are fickle. Whatever the prevailing wind is, they'll roll with it. Someone tells them firmly that their financial hardship is due soley to "satan", they agree, whole heartedly, and say every prayer they can think of to conquer him. On the other hand, someone tells them they're using "satan" as a cop out and they feel convicted and say "i absolutely agree." Its saddening, really. So my thought still goes unanswered. Is "satan" a demigod? Does he have more control over us than we do? If Christ defeated him, why are we still so afraid of him, so guarded? If there is an epic battle between Christ and Satan, and the battle of Armageddon is between the two, then Satan must be a demigod. Not bigger than Christ but bigger than us. Which still makes him a God. Which in turn suggests that Christians are actually Dualists. "Surely not", you might say. "Satan has no power over us, Jesus defeated him with his death on the cross." Well great. So what are we worried about? If that is truly the case, then Christians really are using "attacks of the enemy" as a cop out answer. To displace responsibility. To go on living how they see fit, conviently marking their own mistakes as "attacks." No? Thats not it? Christians really do get attacked by an "enemy"? Well then, the enemy must have more power over us, to be able to produce thoughts in our head. To attack us with abstract thoughts and feelings like lust, envy, greed, sloth, etc, etc. No human could do that to another human. Therefore satan must be a god. Once again making us all dualists. We dont believe in two gods, right? "No," you might say. "Satan is a fallen angel, making him more than human but less than God, and evil to boot." Ok, so then the other side of that coin. Good angels put thoughts in our head too? Like happiness, joy, kindness, thoughtfulness, etc, etc? We give God the credit for those, and more often than not, we dont even give God the credit. We're just being especially Christian that day. So God's angels do not produce thoughts then.... so what do they do? Are they less than satan? If you read books like Piercing the Darkness, which of course is fictional, but it paints angels as adversaries on the same level as demons. Even in the Bible, the archangel Michael is the only one to toss satan back into the abyss. So... satan is bigger than good angles, less than God.... bigger than humans.... which still makes him a demigod. He's able to put thoughts in our head, ideas like murder, burglary, incest, rape....... even small things, we teach our sunday school children that lying is sin, and sin is of satan. Lying isnt good on a logistical stand point. If you lie to someone, that breaks trust. Yet in sunday school we add hype to it. So where are we now? I tried to click and post this on other thread, but was unable to. The devil is the god of this world, he has the power to give wealth, if it wasn't so he would not have been able to offer it to Christ in the wilderness when Jesus was there fasting 40 days. He told Jesus he would give Him the kingdoms of the earth, How was he able to do so? Jesus never said I already own them, just you shall not temp the Lord. This world is still his untill Jesus returns, however Jesus is our help, we fight against principalities of darkness. Even tho this is satans world, he can NOT do any more than what the Lord allows. He has a hedge around His children. When He lifts it and we go thro heartache and pain, that is brought on by the devil, it is for a witness. It has nothing to do with us, and if we are in His will. In the hardship we show the mercy of the Father, his grace, His love, that He is worth it because we are still cleanging to Him. Your witness is for someone else. All the heardship, is to bring someone else into the kingdom. You may not even notice all the people that watch your walk daily, but thay are there. So when unexpcted hardships come we need to try and be like Paul and count it a blessing that the Lord knows we will not fall back, but be strong in His name. Notice that with Job it was the Lord who suggested Job to satan? Satan said he waould fall without the hand of protection on him. What kind of witness was he? He endured to the end. This was the same with Paul, he was happy that the Lord knew he wouldn't fail his Savior, I'm sure the harder the trial, the more stregth it gave Paul. Oh to be strong like that. The people in the other countries who are endureing hardship for the Lord are truly blessed, because the Lord has such faith in them that they will endure to the end. Thoses that love this life more than Him are not worthy of Him. I only hope that I'll have that kind of stength one day, but only time will tell. I hope this answered your question about it satan is a demigod. He is a fallen angel who has tried to make this world his. When Jesus returns for His own satan can no longer hold this world, even tho he is going to try. I've read the end of the book, he fails at his attempt, satan will get cast into the lake of fire. Because he dtill has power over this earth, my are decieved, and sadly follow him willingly. Much love in Christ, Sister Bridget
  16. Hi Ray If you go to a bible believeing, preaching church then set up a way to record the sermines if this is not already being done. Then distribute those copies out so those at home can be bleased as well. Isn't that why churces tape there sermines? You could even swap them out so everyone gets a chance to watch the different sermines. Maybe the Lord is calling you to have a bible study with them in there home. If christians aa a whole would pitch in with those they know can't make it to church we wouldn't have to worry about the TV preachers. But if they are gong to be watched, it needs to be done with a lot of prayer, and the bible to test the words they preach. We as a whole shouls be praying that those who are in this situation will not be decived, that God will put someone in there life to give of there time, and understanding to read the scriptures together. Sometimes just going to there house and talking with them about the bible, and the sermine you heard can help alot. Mabye it will contadict what they saw on TV and knoe to stay away from that one. Or maybe it will line up and they will know to watch him with a grain of salt. We need to make sure it's the message and not the man they're watching. We look to the message, not the messanger. If that message doesn't line up, don't let him in again. Jesus said we are to feed those that need feed, He was not just talking food for the body, but also for the spirit man within us. Like our flesh body needs to eat daily or die so does our spirit. This is a wake up call to all of us, when Lord did I see you an hurger and not feed you, when you did not to the least of them. We give so the flesh gets feed, but what are we really doing to feed the starving spirit man. How can we see him hungery and thirsty, and not do anything? The Lord is also chastising me in this message, it's been a while sence I've checked on granny. I need to get over there and see how she's doing. I was making sure she was getting away from TV prachers and getting her other matterial, but life has a way of ocupying our time. We need to set some time aside, no matter how busy we get. This is my advise I hope it was helpful in some way. much love in christ sister bridget
  17. THIS REMIDES ME OF SOMETHING I READ IN A CHRISTIAN MAG, DON'T REMEMBER WHICH ONE. I PROBIBLY HAVE IT AROUD SOME WHERE IF I LOODK. IT WAS ABOUT A MAN WHO HAD DIED AND WAS STANDING IN A COURT ROOM, WITH WALLS AND WALLS OF CARD FILES LIKE IN A LIBRARY INDEX. HE KNEW THAT THEY CONTAINED ALL HIS GUILTY SIN. CONFOUDED, HE RAN OVER TO THEM, HE'S ACCEPTED CHRIST WHAT WAS GOING ON HERE. AS HE PULLED THEM OPEN ONE BY ONE PULLING OUT THE CARDS, THERE WRITEN ON EVER CARD, WAS, THIS DEPT NOW BELONG THE JESUS, SEE HIM FOR PAYMENT. AS BEST I CAN REMEMBER THAT IS HAW IT WAS. OH WHEN I READ IT I CRIED, THE SAME AS WHAT YOU POSTED. JUST TO KNOW IF WE LET HIM, ALL THE HORRIBLE PUNISHMENT THAT SHOULD BE OURS, HE AN INNOCENT MAN PAID FOR US. WHAT WE DESERVE HE TOOK. NO MATTER HOW LITTLE OR HOW BIG THE SIN, IT IS STILL SIN. AND SIN IS A DEPT WE CAN NEVER PAY. TO KNOW HIS LOVE, JUST BRINGS ME TO TEARS. TO KNOW HE PAID A PRICE I COULD NEVER PAY, I'D BE A FOOL TO PASS THAT UP THANK YOU FOR REMINDING US. WHEN LIFE GETS HECKTIC, WE CAN EASILY FORGET HOW FORTUNIT WE ARE. LET US ALL PRAY TO HAVE A HEART LIKE CHRIST.
  18. This makes me think of Jonah. He had his own plans too. I fermly believe that God will put us where he wants us. A lot of times we make plans with our lives, God has other plans. We may not like where He wants us, so we complain about things not being fair, or just to hard, and this is also the cause of a lot of stress. I've found myself in this position a lot. I've been like Jonah, going my own way, its no fun in the belly of the well. We either get in line with his will, and find happinees even in the toughest situations, or we find ourselves getting there the hard way like Jonah. When he was in the whale,he was spit out where God put him, and grudgingly did God's work, never surendering his will to Gods. I've found that a lot of the desires that I had for my life wasn't the path He set for me. I have prayed for Him to take away all the desires that I have that don't line up with His. This is hard to do, fear sets in, what if He wants me to...or move to....the lists go on and on. Notice how we get afraid to go where He wants us to go, do what he wants us to do? Paul had his life planned out, yet it changed, and he found great joy in going where the Lord sent him, converting the lost. He was happy in a jail, and praised and sang in the midnight hours. How did he have such joy, Jonah wasn't happy(was even anrgy God showed mercy to the city Ninevah),so what is the differance? Like Paul we have to earnestly beg Him to take away our foolish desires, and put His desires in our hearts. That when we do desire to go here, or there, we are not fearful, but happy like paul. How could he count it pleasure in his sufferings? Because he let his desires get in line with Christs. How many of us truthfully would leave a great paying job willingly? If we still have our desires in our heart, we wont desire the better things He has for us(not bigger houses, or cars, ect), but the desire that is most important to Him. We sometimes can't understand downsizing, or other life altering events. But like Jonah, we had to be in the belly of the whale, and spit out where He puts us grudgeingly. I'm still not exactly where Paul was at, but I am praying. I beg him to take away my desires, and put the ones ther He would have there. I have even found myself in a situation that others couldn't believe my attatude, I was happy when I should have been falling apart. To tell the truth I couldn't find anything positive to praise Him for, that's how bad it was. Yet there in the middle of all the kayas, I found myself praising Him thanking Him for the trees. That He is such a wonderful creator, to set them up to give me the oxygen, and set me up to give them carbon. I even praised Him for allowing me to have the breath, I can't breath unless He allows, he is so good. And no, I do have good heath, it's just that everything else was a mess. How did I get to that point, I surrendered it all to Him. Like I said I'm not like Paul yet, the Jonah in me still rises up. It's just in that situation I allowed God to us me willingly in a situation, to be a grat witness for Him. I still would have gone through it no matter how hard I would have tried to have things different. I found the joy only when I begged Him to give me His desire, and guide me through that situation His way, and not my own. I still at times find myself fighting, and then I have a choise to make, to be like Paul, or Jonahs. It's not an easy one time thing, I wish it were. Daily we have to ask to be in His will. Just like we need to pray, and read our bibles daily, we also need to ask to be in His will and not our own. LET US ALL PRAY TO HAVE A HEART LIKE CHRIST--LONGSUFFERING & PATIENT--NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH
  19. Prayer changes obsticals that we can't. I have been seeking the understanding of God's word. He reviled something, it was like it came right off the page and slapped me. I shared this with an elderly lady who is like a grandmother to me, granny told me I had it wrong I needed to find someone who was familiar with that subject. She had never herd any preacher preach that. Being elderly, she stays home mostly watching TV preachers, and psychics. But, she did say she never remembered any preacher preach such a thing, that included when she was more able to attend church. I went home I prayed for God to show me the truth. I begged Him, pleaded with Him, for the truth. I then felt Him give me a spanking in the spirit. I still was in doubt. So I prayed for Him to show me if I was wrong, but if she was wrong, then to show her the truth. The next time I saw her I was careful not to let the conversation go to bible topics. As I was leaving, she said she had spoked to her son, and he'd said God could still give people the understanding of his word at any time He chooses, how else would a preacher understand, but by reading the bible? She opened the bible and looked into what I was saying, and understood more. I did get her to stop watching psychics, and to test what the preachers teach on TV, just like if she were in church. Shes called me several times telling me she heared something that sounded fishy, what did I think. We'd then go to the bible to find out what it had to say. Most of the time the fishy stuff did in fact stink. But without praying for the truth to be revieled, I might still be in doubt. Granny would still be into pyschics, and who knows what else? Prayer is our most mighty weapon against the devil, to set the captives free. Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. LET US PRAY TO HAVE A HEART LIKE JESUS--LONGSUFFERING-- FULL OF LOVE --NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PEARISH
  20. He also gave us the famliy unit to under stand too. I have a 16yr old. I have talked to her about mistakes people have made, telling her s she can be smart and learn from there mistakes, or be hard-headed and learn the hard way. I had clearly talked to her repeatedly, she went ahead and did one of the this, clearly knowing the coniquinces. I was disapointed to say the lest, it was not a life altering thing, but still. I asked her why? I was really ready to give her a lecture, when crying she said could we please drop it she felt bad enough and would never do it again. Under my breath I was like Lord help me, she has never been the type to get into trouble. So why did she do something like this knowing better? In my mind I could hear Him asking why did I do the things I did KNOWINGLY, when He had shown me better. Yes there were times in my life I would say Lord I know I shouldn't but I just have to do things this way in my life. Every time it caused me pain. So we also have the family unit, along with all kinds of things in nature, if we look we can find his teaching every where. THERE IS MUCH LOVE IN CHRIST--LONGSUFFERING--LET US PRAY TO HAVE A HEART LIKE HIS
  21. Is this the scripture your looking for? Jud 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
  22. Are we to comfortable with/in our relationship with God, that we tend to get lazy? I was watching the news about the fires in CA. and the thought babalon is burnig is burning(i know falling in rev.), then come out of her my people came to mind. No I'm not saying CA, or the U.S. is babalon. Nor am I saying words of prophecy, just that I find comfort in Gods words at this time--Why?? More proof of His truth. HE said that the last days would bring scoffers, it has. But also in Matt., Mark, Luke, and Rev. it talks of earthly calamities. We see them now. He also said people would blame Him, and they haveand are doing so. He showed this to us in advance, to let us know how close we are. When He says come out of her my people, what is HE really saying?? Lot got comfortable in Sodom. He didn't stand up against the sin rampet in his day. I'm not talking about things we have all done and are covered under the blood. As Shadrack, Meshack, and Abedingo(hope i have them spelled right) refused to bow to the false idol, (by standing on Gods view not being politically correct), Lot on the other hand ate the meat sacrifised to idols(political correctness) , he was STILL saved. God had to send angels to drag him(and family) out of there. Lot's wife turned back (like the Isrealites did in the dessert), on all the comforts she would be missing.Notice Lot's wife and the Irealites didn't make it? I guess the real question I'm asking is, HOW much comfort are you willing to give up, and how much persicution are you willing to endure? Because Jesus himself said the world would hate you,(not talking about brothers/sisters disagreeing on miner parts, but the unsaved blinded by satan) because they hated Him first. He suffered so much for us, more than any of us could ever endure. His deciples also suffered, would we stand so boldly if in their place? Christians are dieing because of their stance in Jesus, and the bible, and we find it hard when someone laughs at us, or some retorical hatefilled coment? Yes words hurt, but WOULD YOU STAKE YOUR LIFE ON YOUR FAITH? THERE IS MUCH LOVE IN CHRIST--LONGSUFFERING--LET US PRAY TO HAVE A HEART LIKE HIS
  23. When you say this was for a sign for the jewish people, when did they become extect? I see the heartache over in Isreal today. Act 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. Act 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. Act 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Act 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? Act 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Act 11:17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?[/] Act 11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life. Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. Isa 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. He is still the same never changing, if he changed this gift after giving it, how then, can I count on salvation.........will he change that too.... If tongues are only for a witness for the jew, then this is still in effect today. They still don't recognize the Messiah.....why then would he take away this witnessing tool? What a loving a patient Father we have....longsuffering....not willing that any should parish. THERE IS MUCH LOVE IN CHRIST...LET US ALL PRAY TO HAVE A HEART LIKE HIS.....NOT WHAT GIFT WE CAN GET. well....lets pretend I agree with you. Let's pretend you agree with me. Then why is this gift not being used to bring a sign to the Jews? I can guarantee you that 999 times out of 1000 that it's non-jews "talking" to non-Jews. by the way, the Acts that youre posting (i.e. Act 10:44 etc) are Jews. Acts 2: v9 Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome etc. confirms it. thank you for helping my point I also heard of a church where thay went to another room to pray in tongues, as not to disturb the service. A man went there didn't believe in tongues, ask why was people going into the back room and if it was for anyone to enter. He was told it was were people went to pray, undissturbed, and yes anyone could enter. So he entered, as soon as he did a woman stood up faced him, spoke in this mans native language,(NO ONE KNEW HIM, AND HE KEW NO ONE THERE) . This woman told him things about himself that no one but him knew of things he'd done(GOD SEES EVERY THING THOUGH) . He spoke to her in his native language when she finished, he wanted to know how she knew these things, she didn't understand a word he spoke. When he relized this he graabed her by the are pulled her to the front of the chuch, and told everyone of this. He was also an unsaved man, and at that time gave his life to Christ. He wrote the book --When women speak in tongues-- , his story is in there Aren't the jewish people scatered all over the world right now? You believe in JESUS, so do I, why then do you and I need to see how he is working HIS conviction of salvation in someone else's life? Isn't it just wonderful that HE is? As PETER SAID "WHO WAS I, THAT I COULD WITHSTAND GOD?" He is the one in control. Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. He will do what HE wants, we either get in line with him, or the stone that the builders rejected will chrush us.
