I tend to think whatever the Lord has in store for us is far better than anything we can imagine.
-
Amen brother, I agree 100%.
-
I agree, but I think the point some are trying to make here, is the purpose behind the church. So does this fit into the biblical pattern or not? Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. God bless

7 TIPS FOR PREPARING FOR THE GREAT TRIBULATION
wingnut- replied to LightShinesInTheDarkness's topic in Prophecy
Just thought maybe this would help, because it appears you are unaware of what the word tribulation means. From the Greek word thlipsis: 2347 thlípsis – properly, pressure (what constricts, rubs together in a narrow place that "hems in"); tribulation, focusing on internal pressure that causes one to feel confined (restricted, "without options"). 2347/thlipsis ("compression, tribulation") brings the challenge of also coping with the internal pressure caused by the tribulation, especially feeling there is "no way of escape" because "hemmed in." Dealing with 2347/thlípsis ("compression, tribulation") is principally an "inside-out" matter. All pressure is ultimately internal and only truly dealt with by the Lord's inworking of faith. Accordingly 2347 (thlípsis) and 4102/pístis ("faith, God's inworked persuasion") are very closely connected. God bless -
How can we save the Children?
wingnut- replied to Stephan's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Not knowing the exact age, it can vary how you want to handle it. The important thing is that you set the example, find a good church with a good youth ministry that will be helpful to your children. Commit to your own relationship with them, and depending on how old they are, maybe forcing them to do something they are opposed to isn't the best way. Even if you have to go to church by yourself for awhile, that is what you should do, lead by example. I am thinking of teenagers when I say this, depending on their actual age, it may not be an issue. Will be praying for you. -
How can we save the Children?
wingnut- replied to Stephan's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
The most important thing you can do is to live for Christ yourself. Your children are watching, and you are one of the greatest influences they will have in their lives. Make sure you are the proper reflection and example that you need to be. Take them to church, make sure they hear the truth and are exposed to scripture. Watch what they are doing on the internet, keep the computer in an area of the house where you can see what they are doing on it. Be involved in their lives, know their friends, but be careful not to be overbearing at the same time. By that I mean, you cannot choose their friends for them, and while you may identify one as being trouble, if you try to force them not to be friends with that individual they most likely will rebel against that. Well, I am not exactly post-trib, about an hour difference, so look to the verse that precedes that one, and you will see the gathering prior to it.

How do you know God has spoken to you
wingnut- replied to Unwavering Faith's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
I would say confirmation comes when it takes place, in the meantime, continue to pray and believe. -
That would be this group right here, which of course, is the only group in the entire book of Revelation to repent. Revelation 11:13 And at that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

According to Jesus, it sounds a lot worse. Matthew 24:21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.
-
Yes, sounds like pre-trib to me lol.

They ask because it is part of the process. Do you think everyone is honest? I mean, the judge instructs the jury not to talk about the case until all the evidence is presented as well, and I can tell you from experience that doesn't happen either. Some folks have their minds made up five minutes into it. It makes me sad to hear you say that, I expect it from the world but not from a brother. All I can say is this, the law has not changed, and neither has God's word, you should really rethink that. As for what is happening with the MSM, clearly they are falling by the wayside, which should make the folly of their choice rather obvious. And though the narrative has become to blame Trump for it, the truth is it was happening long before he became President. He just happened to be the first one to return fire, probably because he is not really a politician. All of his predecessors lacked the courage to do what was necessary and hold the MSM accountable for their actions. I am by what is reported, I have said numerous times that I would prefer that he stop the tweeting, or at least have someone proofread it first. I do understand why he does though, he is simply getting out the information that the MSM would keep hidden to preserve their slanted perspective. This is what the media never counted on, that their control of information was no longer a monopoly. It's a brave new world.
-
The irony here is, you have the name, but I actually am old school lol. Now seriously though, I majored in journalism, and since you as I understand are a journalist, we both know that what we were taught was not this. This nonsense today is not journalism in our time, nor should it ever be confused as being journalism. Remember Hard Copy? Do you remember all those supposed news shows that real journalists shook their heads at? Those were opinion and gossip, junk news, for entertainment purposes only. Do you know why they aren't around anymore? Because MSM went in that direction, no need for them anymore. You couldn't pay me to watch them then, and you couldn't pay me to watch Nancy Grace now. As for the court of public opinion not being a court of law, you are kidding yourself. Where do you think juries come from? I get most of my news by reading, and occasionally catch bits and pieces from a variety of network broadcasts. Mostly though I tune in to America One, where they just report the news minus all the opinions and commentary. Remember when that was the case on the networks as well? I do. Never been on twitter, and never intend to be on twitter. So no, I have never followed POTUS or anyone else.

I haven't seen a court of law rule that he has violated the law as of yet. If that happens, then this is relevant. Why do I consider them attacks? Because what I see is people taking allegations and trying to convict him in the eye of public opinion without due process. To me, that is nothing more than gossip, plain and simple. Shall I list all the scripture that speaks out against gossip? I already shared my opposition in regards to the laws of the country, so that base is covered. Well you have never seen me prop up Fox News because I don't watch Fox News, so I have no idea where this is coming from. Perhaps you have me confused with someone else? All I can say is I haven't watched them in years, since they have people representing both sides of politics, all they do is try and talk over each other, gives me a headache. You would also be hard pressed to find me using the term fake news, although I may have on a few occasions regarding specific incidents. My issue, and the very reason I even entered into this discussion, is that I have a serious issue with the media in regards to denying due process to anyone they deem appropriate. It is never appropriate. Murderers have been set free because of this negligent behavior, and still it continues.

And if he is convicted of a crime then we will be in agreement, but until then, he is still innocent in the eyes of the law. Well, all of this is really subjective. Politics are polarizing, and considering he is disliked by both Republicans and Democrats, there really is no way for him to avoid it. I also find it hard to hold him accountable for the establishment viewing him as a threat. As for increasing the debt, well, he has only been in office for a year. Expecting him to fix everything in that amount of time is a bit unrealistic, we will see what the future holds in that respect. I don't agree with your assessment that he has attacked the First Amendment, in fact, I would say he has done the opposite. Defending himself against the MSM that attacks him at every turn is not an attack, it is a defense. I don't have an issue with anyone defending themselves against an aggressor. As for religious liberty, he has done more good than any other President in my lifetime.

According to the law, a man is innocent until PROVEN guilty. Has be been proven guilty of anything yet?

Due Process of Law A fundamental, constitutional guarantee that all legal proceedings will be fair and that one will be given notice of the proceedings and an opportunity to be heard before the government acts to take away one's life, liberty, or property. Also, a constitutional guarantee that a law shall not be unreasonable, Arbitrary, or capricious. The constitutional guarantee of due process of law, found in the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, prohibits all levels of government from arbitrarily or unfairly depriving individuals of their basic constitutional rights to life, liberty, and property. The due process clause of the Fifth Amendment, ratified in 1791, asserts that no person shall "be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law." This amendment restricts the powers of the federal government and applies only to actions by it. The Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, ratified in 1868,declares,"[N]or shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law" (§ 1). This clause limits the powers of the states, rather than those of the federal government. https://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/due+process+of+law Do you understand the difference between an allegation and a conviction? Because last I checked, Trump has not even been charged with the offenses you have decided he is guilty of. That would be the definition of trying to unseat a President unconstitutionally, and why what has been going on for the last year is nothing more than an attempted coup.

Is it scriptural to instruct angels?
wingnut- replied to LionHeart-IV's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
I agree with you, in fact, I don't see the verse from Hebrews supporting we have authority to order angels around at all. The angels serve the Lord, and do His will, not ours. I would stay away from such preaching. God bless -
Life is not so much a what, the real answer is to the question who is life? John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Now there is a good question, how do you define success? Happiness is a state of mind, a person can choose to be happy or choose to be miserable, but either is a choice. As for everyone ending up dead, yes, in the physical form our bodies will eventually die, but that is just the beginning. Revelation 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done.14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

My life is falling apart, along with my faith.
wingnut- replied to Sarah777's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Welcome to worthy I don't think your life is over, but one thing you need to do for sure is stop this relationship with a married man. As for your child, I don't think you should call your baby a mistake. You are going to bring a baby into this world as a result of your mistake, but you need to love that child dearly. Stop sinning, and repent. Turn back to the Lord, He is waiting for you. Praying for you. God bless -
Luke 12:8 “And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God, 9 but the one who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God. 10 And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.11 And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious about how you should defend yourself or what you should say, 12 for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”

When all of Israel will come to know God in a personal relationship
wingnut- replied to Psalms37:4's topic in Eschatology
Hey brother, I first want to say, I agree with your breakdown on Psalm 68. However, there are multiple occasions found in scripture where a passage points to more than one specific occurrence in time. For example, take where Peter quotes from Joel regarding the Holy Spirit being poured out at Pentecost. Peter states that the prophecy was fulfilled, but when you take Joel in context, clearly he is talking about the Second Coming. So while Peter was correct, the prophecy is still future and will happen again, specifically in regards to the people of Israel. The second thing I want to point out, is the context in which Paul quotes this passage, specifically what immediately follows. Ephesians 4:9 (In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? 10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) It cannot be said that when "He ascended" relates to something on this earth when he is clear that He ascended far above all the heavens. This is not Jerusalem on earth. Also, Paul is talking about the Body of Christ leading up to this, so referencing the Exodus just doesn't hold up under that context. There is also the passage from Peter to be reconciled in how we handle what is being spoken of here, and Matthew 27. I Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, 19 in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, 20 because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. 21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him. I agree with you on how Matthew 27 breaks down, but I think the passage in I Peter explains why this is. Of course they couldn't be resurrected in a glorified state before He was, so naturally they could not go out into the city until He first appeared. I agree with you here as well, of course the third being the second resurrection John tells us about in Revelation, although I wouldn't want to be part of that one. When I said two, it is because I was referring to His people being resurrected. God bless -
I think that is something you can do once you reach royal member.
