  1. Balance, your sugar analoguy only adds up to where it hurts the person taking it. Pot does impair people who smoke it, especially when driving while under the influence. Pot may not have any chronic physical effects on the different organs of the body (such as your sugar analogy) BUT, it does affect the brain and the thinking process. If it didnt, people would not want to use it to get "high" Understand? And so by using it to get high and driving a car while under the influence (unlike driving a car under the influence of a snickers candy bar) the risk is much greater that the person using and driving could end up not only killing themselves but others as well in a traffic accident. I personally would rather give those kids at that school a Mars Bar instead of something to smoke that makes them believe they are on Mars.
  2. Was this a pure-breed dog that they paid for? If not, maybe go to an animal shelter and get one. Or check local newspapers for pups that are being given away. In any event, I personally do not see where you are responsible for replacing it. They were irresponsible for letting it roam away from home. Accidents do happen. I have hit several dogs in my lifetime and it was no fault of my on. They just ran out in front of my car. The dad should not have bothered your dad at work about the situation. He should have gone straight to you and your husband. This alone throws up red flags with me. In any event, I would not worry too much about it.
  3. I dont believe they celebrated the New Moon itself, but it was the sighting of the New Moon that determined what month they were in and what day(s) the Festivals/Feast days would fall on.
  4. I believe the blind man saw the spiritual first before seeing in the natural. Let me explain. In Isaiah chapter 61 which is the chapter of the Good News of Salvation, we read in verse 3- To console those who mourn in Zion To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called TREES of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. Go back and read that entire chapter of Is 61. and perhaps you may also see it this way. Shalom
  5. We must also remember that what one says and what one does can be two seperate things. For instance, Jesus told the people about the Pharisees who sat in Moses seat "Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, BUT do not do according to their works; for they shall say, and do not do. The problem I personally have with BH is that I have never heard of him going into nursing homes, hospitals, mental health facilities ect.. Most must go to him. Is BH really annointed by God? This I do not know. There are many self-appointed and self-annointed out there nowdays. I have heard several sermons from BH that were very good and rock solid as you say. On the other hand I have also heard some very unscriptual things come out of his mouth as well. For instance, talk about speaking curses. He spoke one night and actually said I speak a curse on anyone coming against this ministry. Now some may say thats okay, he is Gods annointed, but is it okay? Wouldnt it have been better to pray for those coming against his minstry and asking God to work a mircle in that area? Should we not do unto others as we would have others do unto us? And too many people today use the Saul and David analogy to basically manipulate people into just letting pastors across the board get away with anything. No one is trying to "Kill" BH. Thats what David meant by he would not "touch" Gods annointed, meaning he would not physically touch him to slay him. David always considered Saul as Gods annointed even though Saul was rejected by God, hated David and sought to kill him. Davids reverence was NOT for Saul but Davids reverence was for God who annointed Saul. Saul was annointed King of Israel. He was a warrior not a Priest or prophet of God.
  6. Well said sierra and word heeded. Be blessed
  7. I would like to share a personal testimony. I was raised in a Baptist church. Accepted Jesus at 15 years of age. Lived for Him several years. Backslid for many years. Married a Jewish man. Witnessed his salvation 4 years after marriage in a Pentecostal church. Re-dedicated my life. Then we moved to another town. Attended a Baptist church. Both of us got real involved. Became very good friends with the pastor and his wife. Then all hell broke loose. Not to go into too much detail only to say the pastor was homosexual and after my husband. Disappointed and heartbroken, angry and just plain sick over the situation, we left going to Church period. Never again we both said we would ever step foot in another assembly. If you cant trust the pastor who can you trust? For 11 years we worshiped and had bible study at home. We loved messianic music, Israel's Hope, Paul ilbur and many others. Family and friends thought we were nuts because we live in a small southern rural town and if its not "southern gospel" then your a cult.Ha. One Sunday I got ready to go to work. My husband said that he was going to the church just a block from our house. I was very angry with him. This church had recently put out an Israeli flag next to the American flag outside its doors and of course this made my husband very curious. So off to work I go, off to the church he went. When I returned home that afternoon, I found him excited and I saw a light in his eyes I had not seen in some time. He went on to tell me that when he enteed the building, the congregation was singing in Hebrew. Some of the songs were both in english and in hebrew and all of the songs he knew for they were the same as we listened to at home. We would later find out that the music minister (the pastors wife) had a whole song service prepared that morning and changed it at the last moment due to the Holy Spirit speaking to her. She later told us that she was prompted to do the song service in an Israeli flair. I am forever grateful for her listening and obeying God. Now, this church is an Assembly of God Church. I had always said that I would never become a "Holy Roller" (this is what I called them) and that I did not believe in the "tongue jibberish" and that God would have to show mw that it was real. After attending for a little less than a year, and praying earnestly for this gift, I was awaiting a surgery and went up for prayer that everything would go well. The pastor prayed for me and while he was praying I heard a wind so loud that the pastors voice was faintly heard. I remember my tongue started to roll in my mouth and it scared me so bad that I put my hand over my mouth real tight. Then I heard a voice say, "this is what you have been praying for, open your mouth." When I let my hand off my mouth I cried out with a loud voice ABBA FATHER, and then It felt like someone was Breathing in my mouth and I could still Hear the wind and it was as if His breath was going inside my mouth and returning back to Him and all the while I was speaking in a language I did not know. And it was not a few syllables mind you, But an actual language. My daughter, 9 years old at that time, was crying and asking everyone how her mother learned to speak in that language. I later found out that one of the ladies there told her it was "angel talk". Its real i thought! This is for real. And it changed my whole life. Several years later, I was facing some rocky paths as we as believers sometimes do. Its not all mountain tops ya know. I was home alone, in my kitchen, desperate, and literally on my face on my kitchen floor crying out to the Lord for Mercy. I just kept crying out to Him to please have Mercy upon me and my household. I never told anyone of this, not even my husband. The following Wed night prayer meeting, a lady I did not even know (some of the assembly knew her for she had attended there before I started going) came up behind me, put her hand on my shoulder. I turned around and she said, ma'am, I have a word for you from the Lord. I do not know what it means but He has instucted me to tell you. I was very sceptical but I said, okay what is it? She said the Lord told her to tell me that while I was on my face on my kitchen floor He heard my cries for Mercy. Thats was it. Thats all she told me. But that was enough. Talk about bolstering ones faith, especially about prayer. Does He hear us. You bet He does. Now let me say this. We are not there anymore. You see, the enemy stepped in, and folks, the battle ground in most cases is at the Church. The gifts started being abused. Yes I believe we can abuse the gifts. Everything should be done in order as Paul states, especially where tongues in the assembly are concerned. Our pastor had no problem correcting those out of order, but then he retired. We got a new pastor and he was a novice and the next thing you know it became a real circus. I wont go into it here but need to say that I believe God did lead us there. My husband is currently studying for his pastorialship in messianic studies from a Yeshiva in St. Petersburg FL. Most he does online and attends the school several times a year down in Fl. I am a worship minister and we attend a small congregation but sweet one just the same. I have only heard tongues once in the assembly followed by an interpretation. Most but not all the congregants believe in the gifts. But its not something we dwell on. God gives different gifts to different people for His specific purpose. It is not a salvation issue. The gift of tongues is just as real as any of the other gifts. But we must exercise them in a way that is scriptural. Seems there was one in the bible that wanted the gift for his own purpose and was strongly rebuked by Peter I believe. I doubted that gift for many years, but I am a believer now.
  8. Butero is right. All judgement is for Jesus alone. We do not judge a person by the color of their skin or whatever mark/tatoo is on their skin. We are called to peace and love. With that said, maybe its best we agree to disagree but do so in love and not attack one another.
  9. Greetings OpenlyCurious, I was just sitting here thinking and want to throw this out there. It says in Revelations that the anti-christ will cause all both small and great, rich and poor, ect.. to take his mark. Whether this is a literal marking of ones skin I do not know. But, I was thinking how Hitler caused the Jewish people to be marked on their skin. This in itself was very offensive to them as they follow the Torah which says that one should not mark their skin. Also, from my understanding of the Jewish burial rites, one cannot be buried in a Jewish cemetary if they have tatoos. My husband is a messianic believer who once practiced Reform Judaism. He told me that in some cases it is overlooked, and any survivor of Hitlers death camps that have the mark can be buried in a Jewish cemetary. Of course its all moot if one knows their savior Jesus because we know that flesh and blood do not inherit the Kingdom of God.
  10. Ha Biblicist! You are too funny. Actually the talit is better known in the Greek as "The Prayer Shawl". Perhaps you have seen one?
  11. On His robe and on His thigh is referring to His garment the talit which has the tzitzit attached to it . The tzitzit is attached at the bottom of the talit and when worn would hit at the thigh level. The tzitzit was the "hem of His garment" in which the lady with the issue of blood grabbed hold of . The way the tzitzit is tied represents the name of God. Its not an actual tatoo on His thigh. Also, flesh and blood do not inherit the kingdom, many with tatoos today who are believers will lose those tatoos as they recieve a new and glorified body at the resurrection. My belief anyway. I don't think there will be anything that will offend in Gods Kingdom. For example, my old pastor has a tatoo of a wizard on his arm, I know he is saved but I dont think he will be wearing that tatoo when he enters into Gods kingdom.
  12. Ah, Judas. He betrayed the Master with a Kiss. He most probably thought that by doing so, Jesus would resist and set up His kingdom at that time. Of course I am only assuming this was his intention. But that did not happen, Jesus opened not his mouth and was led like a sheep to the slaughter. And I still assume that upon seeing that Jesus did not resist, but went willingly, he was sorrowful for what he did and went and hung himself. Jesus was about doing the Fathers will, Judas was about doing his own will.
  13. If lent is fasting and a time of reflection and seeking God, I personally think thats great. But it should be done according to scripture. When we fast, it is suppose to be between the individual and God. No one else is suppose to know, I guess for pride reasons. I do not think that something like lent should seperate believers or cause division. It should be a personal matter between the individual and God. And I personally believe, since the Father does give us as individuals free will, it should also not be a requirement but an option. Let every man work out his own salvation with fear and trembling.
  14. You know, this whole thing got me to thinking. Its coming down to this question that Yeshua asked Peter, "Who do you say I am? I say Yeshua is the risen from the dead, only begoteen Son of God. He is the Messiah. He Was and Is and Is to come!
  15. More like lifestyles of the rich and the shameless
  16. Cardcaptor, do you mean like a dog returning to his own vomit?
  17. Well said Arthur and so true. Do you see this sweeping our way here in America? Shalom
  18. I was responding to what abbershay said.
  19. Eric, the Mormons do believe that the planets will be inhabited by them, each man having his own planet ect... Not a big jump, but maybe a wrong assumption. If so, I apologize. Shalom
  20. I was petitioned for the OES years ago, but turned it down due to my biblical beliefs. Personally I would stay away from it. My husband WAS a 32nd degree mason for many years but also denounced it due to his biblical beliefs.
  21. Mark 14:36 And He (Jesus) said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will." Luke 4:18 The Spirit of The Lord (God) is upon Me(Jesus), Because He(God) has annointed Me(Jesus) To preach the gospel to the poor; He (God) has sent Me(Jesus) to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of The Lord (God) Luke 16 "He who hears you hears Me(Jesus) he who rejects you rejects Me(Jesus) and he who rejects Me(Jesus) rejects Him (God) Who sent Me(Jesus) Jesus is THE WAY back to God. Proverbs 30:4 Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fist? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son's name If you know? Sin seperates us from the Father God, God sent His only begotten Son so that whomever would believe on Him (Jesus, Gods Son) should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus will present us (believers) to God the Father as a spotless bride. Jesus is THE WAY BACK to Father God. No one comes to THE Father God except thru Jesus. There is no other way back to God.
  22. I agree that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are One in Unity. Jesus is THE WAY Back to the Father.
