The "Opt Out" provision that Ried has been talking about is a complete joke. States can opt out of the health plan, but not the taxes that pay for it. Who in thier right mind would opt out of something they still have to pay for? Congress just doesn't get it!!

I agree it is kinda creepy. However, What creeps me out even more are funeral homes that take advantage of people and families at a time when they are having to make difficult and emotional decisions. If it were me, bury me in a pine box from wallmart for all I care.....the less it costs my loved ones the better.

I agree Nebula! My mother just got over H1N1. She was diagnosed too late for Tamiflu to even make a difference. She spent about a week in bed, and she was fairly miserable. Now that she is fully recovered, she tells me that H1N1 was no worse than any other flu strain. This is all hype. "Fear Not."

Here in California, medical marijuana is now being advertised on television! These commercials advertise the types of marijuana available and the "clinics" where it can be obtained. Personally, I doubt this kind of thing would ever have been attempted under the Bush Administration. This annoucement by the Feds is yet another example of how Obama chooses popularity over leadership.

Believe me there are worse places to live..... (not that I live in the USA), but try Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, for war and famine, Zimbabwe for dictatorship, no freedom of press, hyperinflation, and Mozambique for poverty amongst plenty. So yes things are bad world-wide. But let me ask you this? Do you think it was any better when Xerxes ruled from Suza, or Caligula from Rome, or Hitler from Berlin? Exactly, they need to speak softly, and pursuade through logic. Not jump on every little thing that Obama does. Otherwise, it comes across as petty and whinny after awhile, and no thinking person is pursuaded by those things.

Do you believe they are? Sounds to me like they simply see an opportunity to return balance to the government. Rather than confidence I would describe their attitudes as hopeful or optimistic. I agree with you, they see an opportunity.....I am just praying they use it wisely.
