other one, I had a brief description when I first put this here, but it was a little confusing, as eric pointed out to me, so I removed it. I got it from the carm website. If you have a definition, feel free to post it. In a short, basic sentence, as far as I can understand, it goes like this:

One God - 3 Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit

I have a hard time when people describe God as three persons in one God. I don't think our understanding of the "trinity" is completely accurate. How can we say we believe in one God but them say there are really three people involved? Don't get me wrong, obviously the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are essential to a Christian belief but I don't thinkit is accurate to decribe them as three seperate people. I believe it would be more accurate to say that God is one and that His Spirit and His son are all a part of Him not seperate at all but totally connected. Like our own bodies exist of a body, mind and spirit. No one would say that my body, mind and spirit make up three seperate persons but instead that all of these parts of me are inseperable and make me who I am.

But this is not the case. Bible says we can understand God by the things he created. Such as man whom he created after his very own image.

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: </span>

My opinion brother? Respectfully, you took a verse of Scripture out of context and used it to make your conclusion fit. In his letter to the Romans, the Apostle Paul was leading up to making the point that all men are without excuse. The "understanding" he referred to is in relation to the invisible qualities of God, his eternal power and divine nature as the Creator as revealed in HIS creation. There is so much more to GOD and his mysteries are unfathomable.

Do y'all really believe that you can grasp the full nature of I AM? Don't make the mistake the Israelites did. HE resides in every believer. Don't place HIM in a box.

Be Blessed,

Wayne

Just suppose you had one mind, one spirit, but three bodies. The three of you could be off doing different things on any given day, but your thoughts were always those of a single mind. If anyone met one of you, or spoke to one of you they would be meeting and speaking to all three of you because you have only one mind.

How do you think God lives in every one of us?

It still applys....meaning that God is understood by the things he created how is this out of context?

God has revealed himself through his creation.

Once again, the "understanding" Paul referred to is in relation to the invisible qualities of God, his eternal power and divine nature as the Creator as revealed in HIS creation. There is so much more to GOD than HIS creation and HIS mysteries are unfathomable.

:huh: I agree. God has revealed HIMSELF through His creation so that we may know HIM and will have NO excuse not to. That does not imply that we know know ALL the mysteries of the Godhead and the full & complete character of I AM. I can accept that my understanding has limits and the more I do, the more I lean on the HOLY SPIRIT to teach me all things.

Regardless, the discussion was over the triune nature of God, which God has revealed to us throughout HIS WORD as the Spirit gives understanding. I believe in the FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT, three distinct but inseparable persons in ONE Godhead.

No need for further debate, though. We are brothers regardless... of that I have no doubt. I would be curious, though, to see if anyone has done a word study and seen how the word "understand" translates from Greek to English. Does it mean completeness as in complete knowledge...nothing left to grasp?

Be Blessed,

Wayne

I agree there is a simplicity about God and only man and his corrupted worldly knowlege only complicates God and the Gospel.  We think that to understand God and his will for mankind we must have a phd behind our names.  But the bibles says that God has choosen the simple things in life to comfound those that think they are wise.  The bible says the God has revealed himself to babes and hid himself from those that think they are wise.  God resist the proud, arogant and those who think they are wise and reveals himself to those of a humble heart and a humble background.  Thats why you dont see very many people in the Church that consider themselves important and wise.

:rofl: On this we agree 100%.

"Trust in the Lord", the psalmist wrote, "and lean not on your own understanding." God will make our paths straight and reveal to us the WISDOM of Heaven. I have always been amazed of the many grass roots preachers of the WORD from so long ago who when called, couldn't read a word. In spite of that, they learned quickly and many became effective in their ministries. They are the Gideons of recent times...proof that it is God's work, not ours.

Be Blessed,

Wayne

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
