I've started going to a Church recently and they speak about the Holy Spirit there.

Is it blasphemy to say something incorrect about the Holy Spirit because I haven't yet found the parts of the Bible which back up what they say. I daren't repeat what they said until I know it is correct.

I want to be baptized, but I want to make sure that it is a baptism that the Lord approves of.

They have a woman preacher there. I've read various arguments online for and against women preachers and I want to make sure that again the Church is not disobeying God.

There's a website for the Church here: http://www.aromaofJesus.org.uk/

What they said about the Holy Spirit isn't as far as I've seen so far on there.

I forgot to add that the website is slightly out of date because now instead of meeting at a hotel the Church has a building.

Going and worshipping God at the Church has brought me a great sense of hapiness and comfort and I've noticed one great change for good in my life already. A man on the street convinced me to go and worship there he told me good things would happen in my life and suddenly after only going a small amount of times the woman I've loved for ages but who didn't love me now loves me.

Really I just want to make sure that being baptized by this Church will give me a valid baptism.

blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is when you attribute the work of the H.S. to the devil. it's unlikely that your church has done that. if you're unsure though, go ahead and repeat it. by telling us what THEY have said, you will not be committing blasphemy yourself, if indeed that is what they have done. (again, it is highly unlikely that is what they have done!)

of course, they may be teaching bad doctrine regarding the Holy Spirit though, and if they are, you definitely need to know for sure so you can find a different church if that's the case.

Can blasphemy be thought or does it have to be said because sometimes horrible thoughts come into my head that I don't believe but they're still in my head? I once saw a devil worship website and in my head I contemplated it briefly before thinking no it's rubbish.

It relates to what the Holy Spirit does.

They were talking about God's armies.

If they are teaching bad doctorine shouldn't I show them where they're going wrong rather than just disappearing to another Church?

what they said about the Holy Spirit isn't as far as I've seen so far on there.

I'll first comment on the one topic of what they say about the Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit - The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during this age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service

This is true. There is certainly more to the Holy Spirit which could be elaborated...but this is an accurate summary. What were you expecting?

By using the words "during this age" they seem obviously dispensational and I'm not a big fan of putting God into a time box; but it's not rising to the level of heresy.

Is there more that isn't mentioned on the website?

Woman preachers don't bother me but there should be a male in authority over the larger community. Is there?

If not, you might want to consider continuing your search unless you are sure the Lord wants you there. What brought you there and makes you want to be there?

There is a male preacher who is the woman preacher's husband. I'm not sure who is in authority.

I'll try to explain how I came to that Church.

I wanted to start going to Church and saw so many Churches and I was worried as to how to pick the right one and I prayed and asked the Lord to send me to the right one or one He approves of can't remember my exact words but something along those lines.

There's a man that tries to get people to go to this Church that stands on the High Street in the town where I live he's talked to me before and told me about the Church, but after I prayed to the Lord he talked to me if memory serves me correctly twice more and on the second time he persuaded me to go along to the Church.

it's going to be hard to convince you that you have not committed blasphemy without you telling us what it is that you thought. but i'll give it a shot anyway.

according to my understanding of scripture, once you've committed blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, there is no turning back. God wipes His hands of you, and the H.S. will no longer convict you of anything... clearly you are deeply concerned that you may have offended God, but that concern indicates to me that you have not committed the unforgivable sin!

i'm sure by now you have told God you are sorry, but if you haven't, get on your knees and ask forgiveness... and then rest in the promise that God has made to you, that your sins are forgiven.

what is happening right now is that satan is trying desperately to make you believe that you are unworthy of God's forgiveness. if that were true, then satan wouldn't be trying so hard!

If blasphemy is spoken then I can't have done it but someone keeps saying things in my head they aren't thoughts I want and they aren't what I truly think but ever since I read about that sin they keep surfacing in my head.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
