thanks for your input thus far guys, its made for some very interesting reading. In light of some of the comments made and looking for other relevant scriptures I've thrown together some thoughts of my own.

1 Timothy 2:14

"And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression."

As Adam was not deceived and with sin not yet being in him, his act must have been righteously motivated. I think standing by his marriage vows would be a righteous motivation. Although God decreed not to eat the fruit, didn't he also make them of one flesh? Puts Adam in quite a dichotomy I think. He can remain sinless but break the unity which God has intended for him and Eve, or he can hold fast to his wife as God intended them to be, but must become sinful to do so.

Romans 5:14

"Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come."

Adam was a type of the Christ according to this verse and I can see quite a few similarities looking further:

Adam, until his fall, had only ever been in the presence of the Father and then became sinful and was cast from the Father's presence to hold fast to his bride.

Its worth noting that all are born into sin or "outside of the Father's presence" and enter into his presence. The only exceptions to this are Adam/Eve and Jesus

Jesus had only ever been in the presence of the Father until he became sin upon the cross and was cast from the Fathers presence ("Eloi Eloi, lamas shabachthani") in order to secure (or hold fast to) his bride (we christians)

New Pilgrim.

Jesus had only ever been in the presence of the Father until he became sin upon the cross and was cast from the Fathers presence ("Eloi Eloi, lamas shabachthani") in order to secure (or hold fast to) his bride (we christians)

I would firstly just comment that the Bride of Christ ..His Church...are the redeemed of the Lamb both Jew and Gentile.

I don't think we can assume that Adam and Eve had 'relations' before they were evicted from the Garden....Also just a passing thought but it is conceivable that Adam and Eve were only about 13 and full of a natural innocence.

When Eve sinned she weighed up two voices in her head...that of Adams who told her not to eat the fruit...and if she asked 'why not'...the only reason would be 'because the L-rd said not to.'

The argument of the crafty serpent was much more persuasive than the indirect command of G-d...maybe she thought Adam had misheard ?

How come the serpent was crafty...when sin had not yet entered the world?

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

The serpent starts up the conversation by actually finding out what the weakness of Mankind is...because if you read his question to Eve...he is asking a blanket question...and fishing for clues. As soon as Eve answers and points out that it is only the tree in the middle of the Garden that is forbidden...then Satan the Serpent has the answer he was looking for and spews out his poison.

It is intriguing to wonder if both the tree of Life and the tree the Knowledge of Good and Evil were in the middle of the garden and yet only the latter was forbidden...how come they hadn't tasted its fruits yet...maybe in the purposes of G-d it had not yet produced its fruit...but it would do eventually and thus posed the problem of giving fallen mankind eternal life.

The very fact that this tree was in the garden and was not forbidden demonstrates that the heart of G-d was always to give the crowning glory of His creation...made in His own image...eternal life...and not through the process of death.

Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

...and it is still G-ds desire to fellowship with mankind for all eternity in His Paradise.

Why did Adam eat the fruit?

Adam blamed it on the woman and God for giving him the woman.

Ge 3:12

And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
