The question was about the rapture, not the resurrection. The rapture is executed on those living, not upon those "dead in Christ."

These scriptures must be wrong then: If the rapture, resurection, catching away: is not for those who sleep in CHRIST.

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air

The term "rapture" comes from the word "harpazo" from the Greek. That is what is translated here as "caught up." Who is caught up?

Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up...

We who are alive and remain. Naturally, those who are alive and remain stand in contrast to those who have already died and do not remain (first resurrection).

Blessings...

His Son: I believe you are referring to Dad Ernie's post but I'm not sure since you weren't specific.

I think where some confusion comes from stems from two separate events: one is a period of trials and "tribulation" *(characterized by wars, famines, earthquakes and other perilous events); later this is followed by "The Great Tribulation" aka "The Great and Terrible Day of the Lord" or the "Day of Judgement" or simply "The Day of the Lord".

God's wrath is His judgement (the Day of the Lord) which comes like a thief in the night. Paul says that we do not sleep in the day as drunkards do but rather we live in the light. We do not live in darkness so that the "day" will not overtake us. We (the believers) are not appointed unto wrath. *(Thessalonians).

Jesus said in Matthew 24 to "Let not your heart be troubled; for these things must come but the end is not yet."

So, there appears to be a period of time before the Day of the Lord which is brought about by Providence and prophesy but it's distinct from the Great Tribution. It's a period of difficulties including famine and earthquakes of diverse sorts.

I was not referring to any post in particular but to all posters who refuse to accept what God has written in The Bible, and the fact that those who support a pre-trib rapture have to take Scripture of of context of the total Bible on the end times. There are not to tribulations written in The Bible, nor are ther two raptures. Psalm 91 assures the very elect for whom God has to shorten those days for that though things happen all around them they will not be affected by them. Pre-trib, and mid-trib are both man made doctrines these can only be supported by private interpretation, and adding words to The Bible. It is very important that people who read these posts who are searching for truth hear the Truth, God's Truth, not what man calls truth, and God's Truth Is Written In The Bible, which is to be interpreted only by The Holy Spirit. I say to all seekers do not take any of the words of any of us men, go to The Bible, and The Holy Spirit for God's Truth.

Can anyone else see in this scripture that, Those who are going up to meet the LORD who has just come from heaven is meeting them in the air on earth?

Actually It doesnt mention earth, It says that we shall meet Him in the air. The rapture and His second coming are not the same event.

1 Thess 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up (HARPAZO) together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

if you notice in these verses below, it appears to me any way to a referance to the rapture and notice that the Lord is seated on the clouds, at least it appears to be the Lord ( "like a son of man") or it could be a referance to an elder, in either referance we are taken in the clouds.

Revelation 14:14 I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one "like a son of man" with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, "Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe." 16 So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested
.

Note that this happens right before the harvest of Gods wrath which correlates with Joel 3

-these verses, I believe, indicate that when Christ died, He went and preached to those in "captivity" - prison, and then when He ascended up on high, He took them with Him.

So it may be that the 144,000 are those whom arose with Christ at that time and are seen by John as being on the TRUE Mt. Zion in Heaven. Isn't that what the "firstfruits" are?

-{SO IT MAY BE??}-these 144,000 are JEWS--UNDEFILED--=PURE--THEY HAVE NOT DIED---THEY ARE RAPTURED--THE FIRST FRUITS---"THE LAST SHALL BE FIRST & THE FIRST LAST"----

-IF THOSE 144,000 WERE RESURRECTED & WENT TO HEAVEN WITH JESUS--WHAT ARE THEY DOING ON EARTH TO BE RAPTURED A SECOND TIME?? :t2::P

-WHERE DOES IT STATE JESUS COMES TWICE??ONCE FOR THE CHURCH & THEN AGAIN FOR HIS SECOND COMING??HOW MANY COMINGS ARE THERE IN"SECOND-COMING"?? :t2::P

-WHERE DOES IT STATE JESUS IS "SEATED ON THE CLOUDS"??

-{OR IT COULD BE??}-CHAPTER & VERSE-PLEASE- :P

-AN ELDER IS GOING TO COME IN THE CLOUDS & RECEIVE THE BRIDE OF CHRIST-?? AN ELDER IS GOING TO RECEIVE THE CHURCH OF GOD?? :D:D

I give up. It sounds like people come on here and each one (and his ego) speak with such "authority" that "he's right!" and anyone who disagrees is uh, well...."an idiot" who hasn't really read the bible.

When people talk like they're the fountainhead of all wisdom, I just blow them off.

All I hear is an ego talking...and that's what I usually hear so I'm just chucking the whole thing.

Everyone has an opinion and if someone doesn't "agree" with their opinion, they're something like a moron who just doesn't read their bible.

I'm just dropping this whole topic. Yawn...

Don't give up read Mathew 24 where Jesus gives you the end times events, and read all the other Bible stories that give you examples of how God will keep you from wrath, and destruction of evil going on around you. Psalm 91 is your assurance. He took lot out of sodom, and Gomorah, He floated Noah on the water, He doesn't have to take us out, and I don't believe He will based on what Jesus says about the greatest tribulation that will ever be. He will keep us from harm during it. Trust God's Word, and The Holy Spirit not any man.

Don't give up catsmeow. The "I am of appolos" syndrome has been around since the first church. We will someday soon come to the unity of the faith.

I will be the first to become a fool to become wise. Which has happened sinse I have been here at worthyboards on some issues.

It is hard to remove ourselves from the flesh we were reared in . So the ego and pride pokes its ugly head Through. Even though everything that we have. we have received.

The Lord has given the body the whole picture. I for one: am just trying to put it all together.

Please forgive and extend the LORD's GRACE towards us. Pray that the LORD gives everone the calmness and gentleness of the SPIRIT to teach and learn in peace.

In CHRIST JESUS

I agree with Cats. too many "experts" and every one blowing their own trumpets. I'll just stick to what the Word says. But I have to say this. I haven't met a christian yet, who is without spot or blemish' so dont go building your hopes up that you will miss the fireworks. You might just trip at the last hurdle. The only way you'll miss the tribulation is to " kark it " before it happens. :D

I'll be eighty one on a few weeks, but I still hope I hear the last trump, after the great tribulation and before the day the Lord pours out his wrath. :il:

cheers.

I just begged God to let me come with him. I'm not a real strong person and I hope being a real strong person isn't what will qualify us to be called up with him.

I heard that the Jihadists don't use a guillotine to behead the "infidels". They take a sharp knife in hand and saw off the head (not too fast, either).

If it were a sharp, quick, clean kill, maybe I'd just close my eyes and get it over with...but the ordeal some go through makes me ill.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
