I said that the Bible does not say. But letting the Bible be a commentary on itself I believe it probably was a lamb. The animal had to be killed in order to cover the sin - nakedness - of Adam and Eve. God made the first sacrifice by killing one (or more) of His creatures gving the example of how ugly sin is and the sacrifice that must be made to cover it. Lambs blood is what God chose at the first Passover to be sacrificed and the blood put upon the door posts. And finally, God entered His creation to become the ultimate and final sacrifice for sin.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29

So, no the Bible doesn't tell us what animal was killed to cover the sin f Adam and Eve, but I think it was a lamb.

I'm going with wool. simply because of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the earth, to be our covering.

Also, based on Hosea

Hos 2:9 Therefore I will take back my grain in its time, and my wine in its season, and I will take away my wool and my flax, which were to cover her nakedness

Yepper . . . that be my guess :noidea:

I think there's already too much bull associated with most of us . . . but who can tell?

GENESIS 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

The Lord spoke and everything was made...why do we assume He had to kill an animal here to clothe Adam and Eve?

If I were to speculate on the type of skin, however, I would guess lamb.

I'd imagine though an interesting thought, this issue is pretty insignificant as far as Biblical interpretation or theology goes... :broken_heart:

I would guess sheep also .. a thought..

Exo 12:21 Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.

Exo 12:22 And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

Exo 12:23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

Exo 12:24 And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.

The Greek definition of the KJV says leather, but we will never really know will we? What we can say for sure is that it was not Levi's. :)
