No it is not possible to speed things up because God has a set time for the fulfillment of His prophetic scripture. However there are men like Ahmadibajad who believe that by bringing about the total destruction of Israel and waging jihad on all infidels. He can speed up the return of his god. There have also been men of insanity like Charles Manson who thought by bringing about anarchy that they could bring about great change.

At the risk of sounding like a terrorist, do you think there is anything wrong with starting a religious war?

*waits for the CIA to knock on the door* :emot-hug:

Yes I do. One of the biggest blemishes on Christian history are the so called religious wars conducted in the name of Jesus. Which was not and is not a part of the Gospel of Jesus. God says "Vengence is Mine" and I am more then willing to let Him have it on my behalf or any other Christian.

Don't the scriptures say that fighting for and dying for Christ is good?

Matthew 26

51 And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

52 But Jesus said to him,

Yes but not in the mode of starting a war. Only if your on the defensive where Christ is concerned.

Luke 22:36 & 38 There is only one reason why any of the disciples of Jesus needed a sword. It was for self defence only. There is also a difference between being attacked by a thief who wants your money and being attacked by some one because of your love of Christ.

Then why does our country praise our troops??? What we are doing overseas is not self defense. It's invasion.

Wrong! It's preemptive self defense.

No you are wrong. It is self preservation. We didn't harbor the terrorists who tried to cripple our country. They did. Would you expect us to stay put while they kill us all terrorist act by terrorist act. In the bible when ever the people of God were attacked un-provoked for no reason without the consent from God, God always attacked the attackers back. We didn't attack first they did. Just because they are in another country doesn't means we should stay home and what for them to get here. It means that we need to go to them just like they came to us.

Besides while we are supposed to be a Christian nation we are in reality a secular nation and God commands us to obey our government unless it means going against the laws of God and in this case there are no laws of God that would restrict us from serving our country be defending it against those that would seek our total destruction. The ultimate goal of Islam is to conquer the world through any means necessary in order to bring about a totally 100% Islamic world. Are you willing to sit back and let that happen or would you rather resist or fight back? The bible is full of people who killed in the name of God and God sanctioned the killing.

If we hadn't attacked Hitler and defeated him the whole world would be a Nazi world to day with all of the Jews killed or exterminated and Hitler ruling the world as he saw fit. Were we sinful for stopping the total inhalation of a whole race of people and defeating a mad man? No!

Are we a sinful nation for trying to stop the insanity of Islam? No! Are we going to fail? Yes because God said so. Evil will consume the world as we know it.

I very much look forward to the coming of the Lord. However, I am fearful that I will have to watch some of my atheist friends thrown into the pits of hell. How do I ask this....hm.....Is there any scripture that says whether or not we have to watch our loved ones tortured? I really, really don't want to have a front row ticket to watch it all go down. I just want to see my Lord.

Edit: Thought of another question: Is it possible for mankind to speed up the coming of the Lord? In other words, are there things we can do as Christians to bring on the rapture? Sorry if this sounds confusing. I'm bad with words right now.

You don't know much about Islam do you? Ahminawhat'shisname is not waiting for the return of any god. He would be looking for the appearance of the Mahdi. This is a difference between the Shi'a and Sunni. The Sunni are looking for the return of Jesus Christ.

Yes you are correct. Whatshisface has already spent hundreds of millions or even prepareing his country to recieve the Mahdi.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
