Is evolution the bedrock of biological sciences?

I asked this question in chat a few days ago. If evolution is proved to be false, or at least so ill supported by evidence that it is not longer widely accepted anymore, what other theories do biologists have (other than ID)?

I haven't seen any, and perhaps this is why evolution is the bedrock of biological sciences. Biologists cannot dessert this fallicious theory regardless of the lack of evidence because they have no other godless theory to replace it with.

Are there non-evolution, non-creationist approaches to understanding cell biology . Seems to me like in the absence of an alternative, scientists are choosing between "science" and "magic".

Science develops by adding precept upon precept. Evolution is (in my opinion) one of the key foundations at the moment. If it were to be removed, I think scientists wouldn't have a framework in which to place their new findings.

Not to mention the fact that no one wants to be the first scientist to dissent from the popular theory. Now that science has been commercialised, lack of adherence to mainstream theories usually results in marginalisation (who would you network with?), lack of funding, and no peer reviewed publications. That is... your career is over!

I do not know what the answer to this problem is . Some creation scientists seem to do OK, but they will forever (at least for their lifetime) fight against secular evolutionists. I wonder if part of the problem isn't the general trend I see of christians to be more and more tolerant of evolution? The catholic church supports it. There are supposedly more than a billion christians in the world, why is it that our voice is not proportionately reflected in the sciences?

Well, in lab when describing anatomical structures, I keep saying "designed" rather than "evolved."
