I don't mean this unkindly but I have got to say after 30 years membership of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church this is a bit worrying....don't they give you basic teaching on the person and nature of G-d?

I should also add that even though I've been Christian for 30 years, I had not until recently "awoken", as my testimony reflects. I am still learning and started reading the Bible about a month ago. I want to know everything now.

It is just an OT verse that uses the phrase "God" and "Saviour", and it shows that the same phrase used in the NT denotes the same Deity.
