I have never had a little child go missing - I have had one lost in a mall for an hour and that was absolute torture that I never, ever wish to re-live. Christian parents would not consult a psychic or medium or use the services of someone claiming to be. I don't know what parents who are not Christian would resort to.

I rescued a child who was found wandering alone, half dressed and crying all the way down our street. I notified the police, and played with him until they arrived. My own kids never had the misfortune of getting lost. Today, we live in such a dangerous world that parents and kids alike need to be super alert to strangers.

Leviticus 19:31

'Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.' (NIV)

Leviticus 20:27

"Men and women among you who act as mediums or psychics must be put to death by stoning. They are guilty of a capital offense." (NLT)

Deuteronomy 18:10-13

Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you. You must be blameless before the LORD your God. (NIV)

1 Chronicles 10:13-14

Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the LORD. So the LORD put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse. (NIV)

2 Chronicles 33:6

He [King Manasseh] sacrificed his sons in the fire in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, practiced sorcery, divination and witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the LORD, provoking him to anger. (NIV)

I realize that the OP is only dealing with a certain scenario; being if your 2 yr. old child goes a missing. I don't have children but do have nephews and neices. But I couldn't even imagine the emotional state I would be in. I think maybe I would be able to call 911 for help but do not think a psychic would come through my thoughts at all. So, I would not use a psychic in this scenario because I do have the knowledge that it is wrong probably would be why it wouldn't cross my mind.

But if this was more of a serious scenario I don't think what I might do if the temptation was presented to me as all I could do was to keep calling out to God to help keep me strong in the power of his might.

mizzdy, i lost my daughter at the beach one time too. i think she was missing a couple of hours. she was older though, probably about five or six. she'd wandered off with another group of kids. i think i was in a state of shock during her absence. i didn't get hysterical, i didn't cry, i (sadly) didn't pray... i just wandered around looking for her in a daze, absolutely certain i'd find her... but i remember what kept going thru my mind was "she must be so scared, she must be wondering why i don't come get her!". but i'd have never considered calling in a psychic. i wasn't living my life for God at that time, but i knew that God absolutely forbids the use of mediums and such.

My son at that time could hardly be understood by me let alone others that was scary enough! But he his sister and my husband were at the waters edge playing and my husband was doing silly thing to make them laugh and when he came out of the water he was gone! My daughter who was 4 decided to leave and come up to where I was sitting. Talk about ones stomache sinking! my heart almost stopped beating. We went to the life guard and my husband took off looking. All I could do is sit and even though I had strayed from God at that age I knew the only thing I could do is pray. Thank the Father! someone found my son and took him to a lifeguard station about a mile away but couldn't understand what my son was saying. When I found out they found a boy supposedly with another name I couldn't get there fast enough!! My son was just fine sitting laughing he had no problems with any of it though I imagine until someone took him to that life guard he must have been so scared! Not something I want to live through again!!!

I had my round with the unhealthy supernatural but thankfully it was before my kids were born! I just wish I could get my 28 year old to quit believing ghost are real, she loves that ghost buster show, I can never remember the name of that show! We taught her better than that! but its such a pull to see those oh so spooky images and evps and such.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
