The church has not replaced Israel. We are a wild vine grafted in. The promises for Israel --- their land ---- and their future promises of the Messiah's kingdom are eternal promises. The promises made to Abraham were before the law. God made the promise to Abraham while Abraham was asleep, so the covenant with Abraham was based upon the good Lord's word and not on Abraham and his desendents actions. As you mentioned Romans 9, 10 and 11 talk about the fact that God has not forgotten his people Israel.

Unfortunately some churches teach a replacement theology idea, which is not Biblical.

That did not happen the last time they were restored to their land. In fact, they rejected the Messiah as a nation and remained in unbelief. Ezekiel 36, starting at verse 17, shows Israel restored to their land in unbelief and then coming to faith.

You're simply erecting a straw-man

Blessings,

its pretty clear Biblically who Israel is even in the New Testament:

Revelation 7

1And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

2And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

3Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

5Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.

6Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.

7Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.

8Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

Is there a difference Biblically in what they can do and others who are saved can not ? yes:

Revelation 14

1And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.

2And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:

3And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.

love your sister in Christ,

Rebekah David

Do you have any more cut and paste jobs from others to help improve your thought process?

horizoneast,

Play the ball and not the man.

In the thread on "New Covenant" you stated in a post reply to me something to the effect that the land of Israel is not given eternally to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or that the Kingdom of Christ has nothing to do with the land of Israel. You've changed your tune slightly, I see?

Hebrews 5:11 - "About this we have much to say that is hard to explain, since you have become dull in understanding."

(Citations from Hebrews and Galatians deleted for brevity. See above for full text)

Tell me, Rufus, since you seem determined to show that you can't understand things that are hard to explain. What has the law of Moses which you consistently quote as above to do with God's promises to Abraham and Christ's inheritance in the earth?

Bible Study 101-A: The citations which you so blithely dismiss as being from the law of Moses were from the book of Hebrews and the book of Galatians, both in the New Testament...and you want to launch an ad hominum attack. Your polemic has no merit.

Rufus, hang on. You're starting to make me laugh. I'll leave it here.

Lekh

Wise choice. Better to retreat than go down in ignominious defeat.

The truth is you made me realize for the first time in my life what the Toronto blessing is all about. I could hardly type.

So the seed of Abraham have been replaced by the seed of Abraham because the Mosaic Covenant God made with the seed of Abraham has been replaced by the New Covenant God made with the seed of Abraham, and the passages in Hebrews, Galatians etc which contrast the Mosaic Covenant with the New Covenant are not referring to the Mosaic Covenant.

Made sense to me :emot-hug:

God bless brother - and thank you - you made my day!

Proverbs 18:2;

20:3;

12:23.

Pro. 18: 2

A fool has no delight in understanding, but only that his heart may lay itself bare.

Pro. 20: 3

It is an honor for a man to cease from strife, but every fool exposes himself.

Pro.12: 23

A wise man conceals knowledge, but the heart of fools cries out foolishness.

Pro.25: 11

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

Rufus,

Play the ball and not the man.

And God bless you - you made my day again :emot-hug:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
