A friend is someone who is forgiving and firm when people are in need,

A friend is someone who is real with themselves and ready to reach out,

A friend is someone who is interested in those around them and becomes intimate when the opertunity arises,

A friend is someone who is enlarged and energized with Our Fathers love to over flowing,

A friend is someone who is never-ending in their task until it is done,

And a friend is dedicated and determined to stick though what ever comes their way.

Greetings All,

I am reminded of:

John 15:11-18 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 17 These things I command you, that ye love one another. 18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

or that song:

"What a friend we have in Jesus", all our sins and griefs He bears....

I have reminded my wife on more than one occasion, as well as others - "If you want a friend - BE ONE!"

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Who can extend a helping hand and lighten your load Without expecting any other reward than having had the privilege of so doing;

But what of a one-sided friendship? There are some that take and take and don't give back. And still think they are your friend. Is it so wrong to want something back?

I think all these definitions are good. To me a friend is someone who will pray for you, rejoice with you, cry with you, be silly with you and be real with you. I would have to say that my only true friends are my sister's, Called and Born Again (who doesn't show her face around here much anymore). They have been my best friends all my life and will be until the day I see Jesus!

A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need. Proverbs 17:17

That is a friend. :t2:

We have lots of acquaintences but friends are few and far between. If you have even one you are very blessed.

This post made me stop and think. My three best friends are all non-saved at this point. But they all have hearts of gold and would, and have, stood by my side through the fire. I wish they were saved, but I

Rocks,

A true friendship is never onesided, like any relationship it is a balancing act of give and take. Someone who really cares for you, will want to give you emotional support, their time, etc... We have to realize that not everyone will be a 'friend' back to us. Some are just not capable, are to self-involved or have spread themselves to thin. We know people by their fruits and if your 'friends' fruits are not friendly then is she a real friend or a fair weather friend?

Aquaintences vs. True Friends; Fair Weather Friends vs. All Weather friends; Simple Friendship vs. Real Friendship.

Real Friendship

A simple friend has never seen you cry.

A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.

A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.

A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to

help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.

A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.

A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.

A real friend could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.

A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over

when you have an argument.

A real friend knows that it's not a friendship

until after you've had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.

A real friend expects to always be there for you!

My definition of a friend is...

  • someone who will listen without judging
  • someone who will always give their honest opinion
  • someone who will laugh with you just so you're not the only one laughing
  • someone who cares about you so much that they will always drop everything to help you when you are in need
  • someone who you can laugh, cry, smile and joke with
  • someone who knows when to take you seriously and when not too without having to ask
  • someone who will be hyper with you for hyperness is always better shared!!

Ok this doesnt go anywhere near covering it but I only had a couple of hours sleep so my brain isn't in thinking mode so much as 'PPPPPPPlllllllllleaassee! Dont make me think!' mode at the moment... apologies if any of this doesnt make sense.

 <----- is what I should look like at the moment (though hopefully less yellow)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
