Thereason that Ben Stein did not interview any so called christians who believe in evolution is because the movie was not really about religion so much as it was about the right for ID to be taught in schools, the evolutionary atheists were the ones who kept pushing the religion issue so Ben pushed back.

I recall the big stink ID caused in York PA a few years ago when they tried to have it taught in the schools there.

While ID is better than Darwin's garbage, it still skates around the truth. God created the cosmos by His Word, Jesus Christ. Magog wants to stamp that out.

Great movie. Enjoyed many of the truths that were presented along side of the many lies that so many hold dear to.

Hope Ben Stein as a Jewish man one day comes to find Jesus Christ the Messiah (Yeshua HaMashiach) as his Messiah/Savior one day.

Lame. I was a big fan of ID for a while, but at the end of the day they never produced anything. Intelligent Design is, in reality, simply a philosophy of science (if that), not a theory. Unless, that is, they ever come up with a testable hypothesis. The great tragedy of ID is that they would have had a much better shot if they had started with physics instead of biology. But such is life. The movie itself is pretty rife with half-truths, especially about those supposedly suffering from the wrath of "darwinists".

Lurker

Well by your own standards then macro evolution and common ancestor are not theories either, as you CANNOT test either of them. (i don't know why you are so hard headed to not understand this after so long)

OK let's compare evolution (what you refer to as "macro evolution and common ancestor") and Intelligent Design for their predictive power and testability.

Evolution - All living organisms are descended from a common ancestor/ancestral gene pool and have diversified via natural processes such as natural selection, and genetic drift.

Predictions

We should still be able to observe evolution occurring, albeit on limited scales - Check

The oldest and deepest geological strata should contain the most simple organisms and then progressively more diversified and different organisms should begin to appear as we go up to more recent rocks, as old species ultimately give rise to new ones - Check

Transitional fossils of different types should exist, such as those linking large taxonomic groups, as well as those showing general lineage change, and they should be approximately temporally arranged - Check

All organisms should use basically the same genetic code, inherited from the common ancestor(s) as there would have been no chance for it to be radically altered - Check

Organisms should be distributed around the planet in certain ways, i.e. organisms on islands close to mainland areas should strongly resemble those on the mainland, but oceanic islands should only contain organisms that are able to travel the large distances involved. Closely related species should be found near to each other, unless there is a reason why they would not be, such as migration or plate tectonics - Check

Phylogenies constructed using different methods should show the same tree - Check

We would expect to see nested hierarchies, groups within groups, as particular traits are acquired by organisms and then handed down to all descendent species - Check

Organisms' DNA should be extremely similar to those other organisms with whom they share recent a recent common ancestor and should them become progressively more different compared to organisms with whom they share more distant ancestors. Eg, humans' DNA should be most similar to chimps, slightly less similar to gorillas, less similar to a macaque, less similar to a dog, less to a frog, less to a flower, ... and so on indicating a branching tree - Check

... and we can make more and more as we develop more techniques and acquire more data, in as much detail as we wish, to form hypotheses which can then be tested.

Intelligent Design - Some aspects of the natural world are best explained by reference to the actions of an intelligent agent rather than undirected natural processes

Predictions

LOL... Because it's the only conclusion which fits.

When we talk of intelligent design, we must talk of the origin of life. I know "science" would like to keep the two issues separate. But they aren't.

When we talk of the origin of life, we can reach no other conclusion than Goddidit.

If one is going to follow a faith based religion (evolution), why not follow the one which promises eternal life (Christianity), rather than eternal questions?

It's like a bad steak, this evolution stuff. The more you chew on it, the thicker it gets.

When we talk of intelligent design, we must talk of the origin of life. I know "science" would like to keep the two issues separate. But they aren't.

When we talk of the origin of life, we can reach no other conclusion than Goddidit.

The origin of life must necessarily be different from evolution as evolution deals with inherited genetic changes in reproducing organisms, and so by definition can not occur before genes exist. Now the origin of life is most definitely part of science, but it is just not part of 'evolution'. You can't just lump everything you attribute to divine action as 'evolution' and then insist that all of it be explained in the most precise details or it must all be rejected. You can't replace strongly empirically supported models and frameworks that demonstrably work with nothing that doesn't.

We can never in science come to the conclusion that there is no explanation for something other than a supernatural one. The very, very best you could ever do would be to show that no known natural explanation is known, or that current models are inadequate. With regard to the origin of life, the few people who are researching would say that progress, slow though it is, is being made.

Here are reports on recent research;

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/...91110070320.htm

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/...91120124829.htm

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/...90829091049.htm

But even if in 500 years we still are no further forward in understanding the processes that produced the first living organisms, the only conclusion we could draw would be to simply say "we just don't know," not that "Goddidit."

I watched the movie Expelled last night and i was a little shocked but not too surprised.

I always knew that Darwinists held the majority vote in the scientific world, and i knew they had done some work to block competting theories.

But i was unaware that there had been so much work to stop competting theories, denying tenure, firing people and discrediting them simply because they said ID should be given some credence.

And now i know why there are so few peer reviewed articles about ID, because the evoliutionist dogma in charge FIRES editors who allow the articles to be published.

I haven't seen it but sounds very interesting - something I would like to watch.

Actually, there is no progress being made at all.

Weather it be the RNA world model, the DNA protein model or the new hodgepodge experiment out of the UK. All failures.

Every one of the current attempts at duplicating spontaneous life in the laboratory are failing miserably. And contributing new scientists to the creation side of the picture, as the evidence mounts for the Goddidit theory. :emot-handshake:

I went to the theatre and saw this movie. This movie brings to life the truth of how the antichirst culture is slowly silencing the Christians Culture.

This is a tribute to how the devil is groming the current culture to recieve the man of sin.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
