What have Lurker's fruits been here? Seems to me he's done nothing but try to get people to doubt God's word and to accept evolution.

Now you're just being stupid with the Hitler comment. If someone claims to be a "Christian", no one can know if it is a fact or not - except for God. I may have my mental doubts, but I would never come right out an accuse someone of lying about being a Christian. I guess that would be your job, hey?

It was stupid to say Hitler wasn't a Christian? The Bible never tells us to just accept people who claim they are Christians. We are to be wary and to observe their fruits. It IS our job to make sure wolves in sheep's clothing do not get in to wreak havoc with the flock. We are told to be on guard against false prophets and false converts.

1 John 2:4 says: "The man who says "I know Him" but does not do as He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in them."

Titus 1:16 says: "They CLAIM to know God, but by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good."

Our churches are in the mess they are in because we are letting these false converts with their unbiblical doctrines in among us.

You need to wake up and practice some discernment.

No, what was stupid was saying that I wouldn't accuse Hitler of not being a Christian. The scriptures you quoted above do not say one word about us accusing another of not being saved. It tells us what they are, not to accuse them. I wasn't trying to be sharp, and unlike you, I wasn't name-calling. I was simply pointing out the foolishness of accepting a person who claims to be Christian and yet is not producing any fruit that proves he/she is an actual believer in Christ. Jesus had no problem calling people like the Pharisees "hypocrites" (Matthew 23) and neither should we if the evidence warrants it.

Jesus also had no problem calling those who rejected his message "dogs" and "pigs." (Matthew 7:6)

Lurker calls the Creation in Genesis a myth. He says Adam and Eve never existed, and the flood of Noah never happened. By doing so, Lurker is calling Jesus a liar because Jesus believed that those things were indeed literal.

It is simply my opinion that Lurker is actually an atheist. Can I be wrong? Sure. Do I wish I were wrong? Of course.

But I don't think I am.

Sorry about the idiot thing, I don't like being insulted. My point is that I would never say to anyone who claims to be a Christian, as Lurker does, that they are not a Christian. Only they and the Lord know if what they claim is true or not. You cannot show me one scripture that says that as Christians we are to question the salvation of another, no matter how they act. That silly little judgment thing, ya know.

Now allowing someone to divide the Church is a different apple all together; but again we are never instructed to call a person who calls themselves a Christian a liar. We are simple to try to bring them in line with scripture and if not, to put them out of the congregation.

As for Hitler and Stalin, if I were in that position, I would show them how what they are doing could not in any fashion be how a Christian would behave and that they should perhaps examine themselves to evaluate their spiritual position.

There are many "Christians" on TV who I would have a concern about their salvation, but I would never accuse them of lying about being one. The discernment come in when evaluating if what they are saying is in line with scripture or not, not whether they are saved or not. Again, only they (and sometimes only God) can know for sure.

Again, I apologize for calling you an idiot. Perhaps that is a better discription of myself from time to time.
