This is an interesting question! What fruit is your life bearing for the Kingdom of God? Is your spiritual life bringing nourishment to others? What do you do to further the Kingdom? Just wondering.

When I come on here, I don't come on here to kill time. I allow the Lord to work through me.

John 15:1-8 - 1 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. 2 "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3"You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.4"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. 5"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 "If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8"By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.

The bible often compare our spiritual lives to plants. Jesus often used the comparison of plant life to the spiritual life. In Mark11:12-14, Jesus cursed the fig tree that wasn't bearing any fruit although it was a mature tree. It was full of leaves. There was no excuse for it not to bear fruit. you see a fruit tree fully grown, you can expect to find fruit. This is what God expects out of our lives. Jesus didn't take the fruitless fig tree lightly. He was annoyed by the fruitless fig tree. How do you think God is towards fruitless christians? :emot-hug:

A question you need to ask yourself is this: Is my life bearing fruit for the Kingdom of God? FRuit is intended for nourishment. Is your spiritual life bringing nourishment to others?

What kind of fruit are we expected to bare? Is it more than making converts? Could it be works too?

Fruit is just the natural result of nurturing your relationship with God. Fruit isn't necessarily the issue. I have areas I really need improvement on in my relationship.

I expect this will meet with disagreement as its not the common understanding.

Imo the fruit spoken of that we are to bear is that of converted souls, and not that spoken of as the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

How so you ask?

Firstly because some bear 30 fold some 60 and some 100. This is speaking of increase where as the fruits of the HS are not so much what we increase in but are endowed with?

Secondly because its the spiritual equivalent to OT command to "go forth and multiply".

Thirdly because its only natural that we should reproduce spiritually.

Finally "he who wins souls is wise"

The above is a loose application and not airtight by any means as ive not spent much time considering it.

Am i bearing this fruit? answer: No and i dont think im very wise either. Only hay straw and stubble so far.

I agree with what you say, but I think you have misunderstood what I said. Basically I said the same thing as your saying but I'm saying without the Holy Spirit we can not be as successfull bearing fruit (converting souls).

Well that's great, but it doesn't answer the question.

Sure it does. I'm not here to brag about myself. What I've done for the Kingdom of God I don't need to broadcast it aloud. When I come on here, I come on here to do God's will. Doesn't matter what anyone thinks about me, It's God stand point that matters.

If you are going to begin a thread that hints that the majority of Christians don't bear fruit, you should be prepared to explain exactly what type of fruit you bear. Your response has no bearing on Believer's question.

Oh, I didn't start this thread to belittle anyone, I started this to get people to think about how this applies to them. You see Jesus wasn't to keen on those who don't bear fruit. Ya see, the Lord has a calling on everyone's life. Some christians are complacent and haven't done much if anything for the Kingdom of God. Some in the church need to wake up spiritually and se ewhat is really going on in the world.

:whistling:

Garell, do you know what your calling is? It is important for each of us to know. Planting seeds in people is nothing to be ashamed about, regardles sof the results. Even do little things such as good deeds is bearing fruit and doing God's will. But God can ordinary people to do extra odrinary things. In John15:2, Jesus mentions that he prunes the branches(that's us) so that it can bear more fruit. Again, do you know what you've been called to do.

If we are His children we are bearing fruit...

we are new creations in Christ Jesus..rooted and grounded in Him...

and I think the "Fruit of the Spirit " Scripture perfect ..

I also love the Scripture you quoted because it is such a tremendous encouragement to my heart..

I remember the first day I "heard" it..

He promises that if we bear a little fruit He will prune us and cause us to bear more.. YES!!!

We are all in different stages of growth but we all have growth..

. that promise is for all..you will be pruned by His love to bring forth more and more fruit ..

Sometimes a simple smile to someone is just the ticket for them.. all they need to brighten their hearts..

Let the light of Christ shine out of you...

Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
