That was funny! Thanks for the laugh.

What I am saying is faith will lead people to serve God through Christ, in what He taught. This goes for those who do the Laws of Moses, and for those who do not do the Laws of Moses, and we can see if we go according to Christ we will not be lost.

Christ did not do the Laws of Moses in the ways of the Laws of Moses, He did them in a higher way, which makes it so both those who do the Laws of Moses, and those who do not, both believing in Christ, they can eat, and fellowship together, and show Jesus Christ's love, and not argue, because they agree with each other in there doctrine. I Love all.

Sigh . . . how many times does it have to be repeated that celebrating the feasts is not about keeping "the works of the Law"?

is celebrating Christmas a 'work of the Law'? Festival ... Christmas

AFJ,

These messianics are NUTS! But rather contagious!... yep... I've kind of began to understand this stuff now...

Looking from the New Testiment back through the old testiment is kind of like looking down the wrong end of a telescope...

It's facinating to go back and to become familiar enough with the Torah (Gen, Exo, Lev, Num, Duet) that when you read the New Testiment you realize that much of the new testiment is commentary on the Old Testiment (I would have called this heresy a few years ago)...

But I will tell you this, when you see Jesus, as the fullfilment, the Jewish Messiah, you will be STUNNED BEYOND BELIEF How much greater Jesus is than you think he is today.

All of what the NUTS are saying here REALLY does make a lot of sense, when you realized how JEWISH Jesus really is.

AS FOR THE FEASTS...

The feasts are a beautiful picture of Christ, and when you see and understand the feasts (Which there is no better way to understand them then to celebrate them) you will begin to see again how much GREATER Jesus is than you ever imagined...

The other BIG shocker for me, was the fact that as I've understood the feasts, and the Torah better, I find I have a common ground with Jews, who actually understand Atonement, Sacrifice, the Scape Goat, The Lamb of God...

But if your understanding is based soully on the New Testiment, I would strongly encourage you to become familiar with the Torah...

Christ did not come to abolish the Law "Torah" (Teaching), but to fulfill it... how can we see Christ for who he really is (the fulfillment of the Torah) unless we are able to go back and understand it for ourselves...

If you have not celebrated the Passover, plan to do it this Easter season...

I've laughed about this for years, but I have gotten into so many arguments with my pastors over the years, because I always felt like Communion was WIERD... I kept asking WHY do we do this? What is the purpose, What is the meaning? I never got a good answer, UNTIL I sat through a Jewish Passover sedar...

OOOOOHHHHH MANNNNNN.... COMMUNION IS ALL ABOUT THE FEAST OF PASSOVER!

When Jesus came to "Abide" with us, the "ABIDE" is translated from Sukka which is to "TABERNACLE" with us... go to a feast of tabernacles sometimes and FIND OUT what Jesus was talking about...

When Simeon took the baby Jesus in his arms, and said "TODAY I HAVE SEEN THE LORD'S SALVATION" it was NO COOENCIDENCE that it just happend to be on the "DAY OF THE GREAT SALVATION"...

THESE FEAST were "to be an everlasting ordinance for you" says God... And the feasts are RIPE with pointers to Jesus himself...

Forget legalism... that isn't even remotely what this is all about....

This is about knowing HIM to which the Law (Torah) and the Prophets spoke of!

Blessings!

is celebrating Christmas a 'work of the Law'?

Since the observance is not indicated in the Scriptures...

And since it's not connected to salvation...

I will say no.

SSSSSSSShhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I'm a Publik Skhool Teacher. As far as I know all my staff and all my studeents regardles of rellgious belief celebrate all Holidays we get off school for.

We may not celebrate them to one extent or the other; be it Muslim, Jewish, Christian, African, but we do have some understanding of each and hopefully we can respect others in their holidays they celebrate. Even amongust Christians I'm finding out the holidays we celebrate varies greatly when we cross cultures not just relgions. :o:b: :lightbulb: :sam: :cheesy: :blues: :alien: :pirate: :homestar: :glasses:

Some day, maybe I will again, but for right now, I do not believe God desires for me to do this. What God has made clean do not call unclean this is the revelation Peter got. Notice please, in the New Testament, those who did the Law of Moses, they were instructed in Christ's ways, and still did different areas of the law of Moses, and those who did not even Jew, and Greeks, were not instructed to do the Laws of Moses, why because Jesus Christ, YeHuSHua MeSHiaCH is the completion of the Law of Moses, and does, and has completed all so all could, and would be saved, by believing in Him, and following Him, and He did go past the Laws of Moses in many instances in the New Testament, and established a better way. When He comes back many Older Testament things will be commanded again, but until that time, Christ shows us the way of revelation, of much more, mercy, then judgement. More judgement also will be shown when Christ comes back again also.

I have personally did the different feasts of Israel, Passover, Pesach, and Tabernacles, Succot, I have participated somewhat in probably more then one new moon, and literal shabbot, sabbath days. I believe I have also tried to do, Pentecost. I enjoy them, but the New Testament shows they are not necessary for perfect salvation. I believe what The Scriptures say do you?. Now this is what Paul said unto Peter in Galatians, many Jews, choose to live like the nations, in sin, by judging wrongly against what God says in the New Covenant. So we who are of faith are the seed of Abraham, and not those who try to be so through the flesh, or sin.

We are still under the "Moses Law" not Moses law, God's Law, Jesus did not abolish the law but fulfilled the law, the only law that was nailed to the cross was the law of sin and death.period! We now live by the spirit of the law which is more stringent than the letter. We are not saved by the law, we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ, + or - nothing, if you add to Christ for salvation, it then becomes works, and is legalism.

1. Age of Grace, always  has been , it has no dispensation of its own. but good answer. :suspect:

2. It was not Christians that burned Jerusalem or turned on the Jews.  It was pagan Romanism that did this, later & now known as Roman Catholicism, or the Catholics.

3.  Thank you,  makes some sense,  could it be because of the New Covenant?  :)

I like it when people think they know everything with total certainty. No room for discussion with this mind. If you disagree with individuals like this they look down on you and have pitty on you for being so misguided. They pray that everybody will "see the light" like they do.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
