I don't think there is a gift of intercession, or prayer warrior, as many claim.

True.

But there are some who consider this kind of prayer as their primary ministry.

Sure. I guess it's something we can all do, but not all do. I don't know if I could do what Abraham did, I'm still struggling to get my mind around approaching God with that kind of (attitude / strength / persistance). But I do feel called to pray, and in a way more powerful than I do at the moment. It's hard to explain in words but it makes perfect sense in my head (if only you could crawl in there, LOL, it would make sense).

I would say, don't worry about the mountain you can't climb. Work on the hill you can climb.

Perhaps one day you will be strong and skilled enough to tackle such mountains, if the Lord leads you in that direction.

And if it's burning in your heart to pray - go for it!

Moses interceded directly with God for the Israelites, and God listened :whistling:

Num 14:17 And now, please let the power of the Lord be great as you have promised, saying,

Num 14:18 'The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.'

Num 14:19 Please pardon the iniquity of this people, according to the greatness of your steadfast love, just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now."

Num 14:20 Then the LORD said, "I have pardoned, according to your word.

That was a mighty intercession by Moses...

Cometh the time, cometh the woman andy :whistling:

Andy,

I agree with the others and let me add that Intercessory Paryer is another level of that relationship.

Like all of our Faith, Intercede where you are and the Lord will take you to the next level. Even Abraham had to step out of Ur of the Chaldee's by Faith.

Peace,

Dave

You guys are such an encouragement  .

I have been reading Acts lately, and it struck me how much the enemy tried to attack Christians and the faith, and also those being drawn to God. It was and is a war  . And sometimes I see that happening in others. I see they are at war, and I see the weapons in Christ, and I'm hungry to pray for them (that's the only way I can describe it). I guess my eyes are opened just that little bit more. Not to boast in me, just that the Holy Spirit is operating in His power :whistling: .

When I know the will of God without a doubt, I can plead to Him, in all confidence and faith. When I am not sure what the will is, there is no way I could go forth like Abe or Moses or Esther (or Stephen or Jesus!). I think that these people had a very deep understanding and conviction of God's will.

Drawing near to hear His will is so deeply satisfying, truly like bread for my soul. I feel so blessed right now, and I'm wondering how long I'm going to be on the mountain (wahooooo!) instead of in the valley. But from the mountain, I can also see the battle in the valley, make sense? It is refreshing up here but also eye opening.

OK God just won't let me drop this :emot-questioned:

I have gone from Acts to Ephesians. Here is Paul's prayer for the Ephesians...

Eph 3:8-21 MKJV

8 This grace is given to me (who am less than the least of all saints) to preach the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ among the nations,

9 and to bring to light what is the fellowship of the mystery which from eternity has been hidden in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ;

10 so that now to the rulers and powers in the heavenlies might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

11 according to the eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord;

12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through His faith.

13 For this reason I desire that you faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

14 For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 of whom the whole family in Heaven and earth is named,

16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;

17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height,

19 and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, forever. Amen.

Is it not fantastic how he answers prayer. We prayed for redcloud to return to Worthy on the welcome post and he did. Jesus answered our combined prayer in a matter of days.

In a way I guess all prayer is "interceding" on someone's behalf, but some, like yourself have been pointed in this direction more than others. God is going to use you in amazing ways.

Blessings

When you live as fast as, as the quote goes, colliding with the very air you breath, patience is not a word one bothers oneself with

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
