Another thing that stands out is the similarity of the Isrealites slavery/oppression in Egypt (Genesis) - Slaves from Africa to US (new homeland), then a former slave (so to speak)rising to power -

(and for those who think I am dull - yes I know he is half white but for the most times what I have read in news articles is that Barak is viewed as a Black man first and foremost....by slave I mean African descent)......

We also need to remember the biggest supporters of the abolition of slavery were Christians.

If the black community find it offensive to be called Unlce Tom - then use the KISS rule - and don't say it -

to those who may be confused where I am coming from with this then read my post # 20 - it aint rocket science.

To be absolutely historically correct, most Africans have never been slaves....President Obama has no slave ancestry. He is descended from a free Kenyan and an American mother. Why he is only spoken of as black is a mystery to me....he is half white and half black, a biracial man. His Presidency doesn't hinge upon his race but his ideology. And I agree with the 'don't say it' thing. If it's offensive to the black population then leave it in the dust bin where it belongs. We all have to share this planet; no point in offending each other. God made us the way HE wanted us and we are all His children, equally precious in His sight.

Yeah I know that MG about Obamas hereditry - I was meaning slaves as in "African slavery" and his connection to the continent through his father - Africa which was the bulk of US manpower in slavery terms.

He is classed as a "black man" because his skin tone is what you see first - this is always the case with man.

I don't get it; when I see my friend coming I don't think 'oh, there's the black woman', I think 'oh, there's Linda!' Race is made too much of, in every country. I don't like it.

There's not many out there who think like you MG -

Usual human classification in a blink of an eye.....racial identification and economic status...

That's not true. But the roles are reversed. You won't get killed living or walking in and through my neighborhood.

I don't know where you live but....one can get killed by living, or walking in, ANY neighborhood as far as I know.

Check the murder, robbery and rape statistics in your area and tell me what you find out.

Well, yeah, I live in HOUSTON; this is a city of 5.5 million and the crime rate is high. My neighborhood is near NASA and is safer than some but....there's still crime here.

I didn't say there wasn't crime everywhere. My point is that one is more likely to be a victim in some areas than in others, that the discrimination and racism is more prevalent in some sections of all American cities than in other sections. Some are more likely to be attacked and verbally assaulted because of their race in some areas than the opposite.

Well, that's true. Unfortunate, but true. I think black, Asian or Hispanic people would feel comfortable in my area though; after all the NASA workforce is very diverse and many live here. Muslims? Not so much. They're here but they are seldom seen.

A good bit of the time, you will find one black person calling another one an "Uncle Tom."

Think that one may take a while me thinks...

Blacks allow each other to them things that they don't allow whites to call them.

That's one of the reasons Dog the Bounty Hunter got himself into trouble - his black friends would call each other by the "N" word, so it didn't click with him that he couldn't use it.

Bounty Hunter Dog sounds like a buffoon.

This appears to be a clique - if you aren't in the clique, you don't act like you are - many cliques are like that....common sense please. :emot-heartbeat: This is highschool stuff!

I live in predominantly white neighbourhood and there are murders, bashings and rapes frequently.

Lesson? Do not walk around at night - gangs of youths roam around looking for "fun" any way they can get it....

The 'Dog' IS a buffoon....I used to like his show but I started realizing that it's all fake anyway. He's a caricature.

I never said that there wasn't the possibility violence in all areas of the Land. My point is (and I believe that you already know what it is) that, in the inner city at least, the minorities are more racist, and more inclined to show that racism through violence, to the "outsider" who happens to have a different color then them.

By the way, there are no gangs of youths roaming around in my area looking for "fun" and I am not afraid to walk down the street at night. The same can not be said in the inner city, why I am statistically more likely to be attacked just for the complexion of my skin.

Those same people who would attack me for the complexion of my skin while being in their neighborhood, are statistically significantly less likely to experience crime to their person while being in the neighborhood I live in. They may be looked upon with suspicion, and watched with apprehension that they are up to no good, but they would not be attacked.

I'm out of this thread - it seems lately that when I post something on WB either my opinion or in jest, it is frowned upon or taken the wrong way, so I will leave this thread well alone....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
