why do Christians not accept those who have been divorced? They outcast them in the church and don't accept them

Hmmm...I've been a Christian for 14 years...I've never rejected a divorced person. Nor has my church.

Who is this you're talking about?

agreed...steve, thanks for noting this, as I wasn't sure what she was talking about. I've been a Christian for my entire life, it seems, and have never known any church to doctrinally reject divorced people. BUT, I do know flawed people who might reject divorced person, but that is their own issue...not a church's. My own family has 3 divorced people in it, and I will absolutely say that all 3 are as loved equally, regardless of the mistakes they have made in their lives.

To my fellow Christians:

Maybe we shouldn't be so quick to defend our actions? "Oh, well I've never done this..." The simple fact remains, we've all messed up and we've all caused hurt on an unbeliever. Maybe it's best to point them to the one we believe in. Afterall, He is the reason we believe, right?

Draigon, I'm looking forward to your responce.

I'm thinking that before we try to tackle theology (free will vs. predestination, etc.) we should maybe stick to the basics. If a person is struggling with the core of belief itself, how does it help them to argue theology? Heck, I've been a Christian for years and still don't understand alot of theology.

I do think it would be worth the time to explore the authenticity of Scripture, though. Because without trusting that God's Word is 100% true, we have no basis for our faith at all.

Draigon,

Then the question begs who will you serve? Will you serve the Living Lord Jesus Christ out of gratitude in your Free will? You see it is what we Christians are glad to do.

Or will you continue to serve the master who already you are set under by disobedience to the Word of God? You already serve a master. he may let you think that you don't. In this reality. Yet you do. On that Day it will all be too clear. Then you will be left without excuse. You will also see quite clearly who you have been serving all along.

The Bible says that man is without excuse for God has manifest Himself thru the Creation.

You say that you believe that Jesus Christ walked the earth?

You even cite evidence.

So either He was quite insane or He was the Son of God?

He doesn't desire for you to serve Him in chains as does the master of this world. He desires you to serve Him in Love. :il: Born of gratitude because He set you Free.

Peace,

Dave

but if we are given free will, then why is are life already planned out for us? that is not free will.

isn't it amazing that God created us, knows our every fiber of our being, and also loves us DESPITE our rejection of Him...He loves us SO Much that he DOES desire us to love Him, YET He doesn't MAKE US...and on top of that, He already knew which way we would turn AND He loves you REGARDLESS of whether we chose HIM, or mother earth, or ourselves as our god, or whatever...

EVERYONE 'serves' another...whether it is GOD, money, wicca, mother earth, ourselves, the list goes on.

AND, I might add, that your life is NOT OVER YET, so who knows which way you will go...YOU DO have FREE WILL...but ONLY GOD KNOWS, and someday you too will know.

Super Jew,

You are correct.

Draigon,

There still is that one big question?

What will you do with your sin? What price has to be paid to absolve it?

Peace,

Dave

I have no fear of admiting when I am wrong, or when I do not know something...unlike God I do not know all, if I did I wouldn't be searching.

already, your heart is softening again. :noidea:

I am not trying to offend anyone with what I post or ask, I am just looking for what your answers are.

I can tell...thank you for persevering in this conversation with us all.

1) if God gives us free will, then why does he plan our life out for us? that isn't free will in my eyes.

then you must not understand love very well. God loves us SO much that allows us to make our own choices, though He, because He is GOD, knows what those choices will be. AND the most amazing thing is that if we DO reject Him, he hasn't rejected US...

2) How come the Bible condridicts it's self so much?

I don't know what contradictions you're speaking of, but if you want to address them, I'd be happy to listen and try to understand where you're coming from (perhaps on a different thread...I'm having trouble keeping up here, as I have the kiddos home today!). :t2:

3) How come Christians judge those who are not Christians, saying we are going to hell?

they SHOULD NOT BE doing this, as ONLY GOD is our judge...

how do you know? you are not God, God is the only one to judge..."Bible, do not judge others" that is right out of the book you live by.

I agree with you 100%, draigon. :il:

if I leave, I will be back I will be getting off of her forawhile.

oh, please come back...I desire to converse more with you. Blessings to you draigon. :il:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
