Ok, everyone has to learn sometime.

I guess I just find it funny that you are trying so hard to defend it, and on Christian forums, instead of learning about it first. Try a world religions course.

draigon, I think it's absolutely wonderful that you are here...for ALL people were created equal and ALL have the right to be heard. I am so thankful that you are here. :il:

D,

You asked this:

So how hard do you have to try? How much is enough?

The point that Dr Luke, and others, have been making is that we can never be "good enough" or try hard enough. That's the point. The biggest difference in Christianity and all the others is that the others all require you to do things in an attempt to be "good enough" to get into Heaven. In other words, they are based on "works" and our works are never good enough because they are always flawed.

That's where Jesus comes in. God, being perfect and holy, could never allow sinful man to enter into His presence. Man would have to live a perfect life in order for God to allow man into His presence. We cannot do that and we require a perfect sacrifice. That is Jesus. The Bible says that Jesus became the propitiation for our sins. In simple terms, Jesus is our replacement. We can never be good enough to spend eternity in Heaven so Jesus, in His vast love for us, died so that we did not have to. Basically, we owed a debt we could not pay so Jesus paid a debt He did not owe.

I am glad that you are here and asking these questions. You sound very sincere in your search for answers and everyone here that professes Christ as their Savior shares the desire to understand that Christianity is more than just religion; it's a relationship. Jesus wants to be your best friend and will make your life have a purpose beyond what you can ever imagine. Please read those two books by Lee Strobel and let us know what you think.

In His Grip.

I guess I just find it funny that you are trying so hard to defend it, and on Christian forums, instead of learning about it first. Try a world religions course. I took one and learned a little about a lot. The teacher should be able to answer questions like the one you posted here, without a biased opinion.

From there you can decide what you want to ensue (and stick up for) etc.

Chazy.

I am not trying to defend it, I am just answering the questions you all throw at me with what I know so far lol.

and most certainly keep them coming, as learning never stops in our lives, until we die. I've enjoyed reading what you have to say...though I disagree with your beliefs, you are still a human being worthy of being heard. :il:

Yes. I am not Christian Tess. Does that clear things up a little? ;-)

Im Agnostic. One of my favourite things to do is to learn about different religions. I like having a decent knowledge of what OTHER people believe.

Chazy.

That's cool. I'm curious about what other ppl believe too. I was just wondering if you believe what you believe because you think it is right and true..or if you even believe such a thing as "Truth" exists.

LOL, alright servinghim...I am gonna try to answer all your questions lol...

1)so you do believe that after death, there is something more?

I believe that after death, I will be reborn, also known as reincarnation :t2:

2) Draigon, I've not read through the rest of the posts yet, but I would love a thread on you leading it with exactly what it is that 'wiccan's believe and why? I am unlearned in this area. I hope this isn't too much to ask?

I can tell you what I know, it isn't alot but it is something, but I will wait till my b/f gets here so he can help me, so it will be later tonight. I am still learning this myself.

3)have you evern been involved with any 'Christian' religion prior to chosing 'wiccan'?

Yes, I used to be Christian, then athiest, now wiccan...I think I am in a search to find who I truely am is all.

4)How did mother 'nature' come into being in your beliefs?

Because Mother Nature is something that I am inlove with. I believe we should respect the world because she makes it so we can live, she provides everything needed.

5)How did 'magic' first begin? When are it's origins in your beliefs?

Magic has always been, some just have never known of it.

6)Do you think that you were born by 'magic'?

It depends on what you mean by magic? if you mean, being able to do lightening bolts and crap like that then no. However if you are talking about things like, having dreams that come true or where you can take others emotions from thier heart and into your own to creat a dream then yes, because I was. My grandma and mother used to be witches, and I do believe that you can be born a natural witch.

7)draigon, I think it's absolutely wonderful that you are here...for ALL people were created equal and ALL have the right to be heard. I am so thankful that you are here.

Thank you very much! ;)

Lekcit, I am gonna read the books, I already said that lol. And I know the whole story about Jesus and him coming to earth to save us from our sins, I just don't believe that.

Here is the definition of Agnostic, as according to www.religioustolerance.org

"Agnosticism is a concept, not a religion. It is a belief related to the existence or non-existence of God.

An agnostic is a person who feels that God's existence can neither be proved nor disproved, on the basis of current evidence. Agnostics note that some theologians and philosophers have tried to to prove, for millennia, that God exists. Others have attempted to prove that God does not exist. Neither side has convincingly succeeded at their task."

This is the easiest way for me to explain my beliefs.

I stick to it.

If you enjoy reading and learning I would recommend two books to read. They are both by an author called Lee Strobel and the first book is called "The case for a Creator" and the second book is called "The case for Christ", they are both amazing books that look into scientific proof that God exists and the Jesus was the Son of God.

Excellent advice Debbie! :t2:

I would also recommend

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
