Jennifer Knapp should be vividly reminded about the Savior's very decisive declaration on the divine order of created humanness in Matthew 19:4-6 wherein He explicitly underscores the male-female, and husband-wife relationship which gives the big lie to homosexual shacking-up as any substitute arrangement concocted by rebellious individuals.

If Jennifer Knapp & her friends are intent on taking Holy Scripture seriously (as in Genesis 19:5; Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Deut. 22:5; Romans 1:24-27; 1 Cor. 6:9,10; 1 Timothy 1:10; Jude 1:7; etc,), she'll quickly discover that the sin of homosexuality or lesbianism is definitely not an option open to born-again Christians who would love & obey Jesus Christ. The One True & Universal Church of Jesus Christ should be clearly involved in the holy task of calling deviants to leave the lesbian life-style in obedience to Jesus the Righteous One

SexuL immorality is a sin. Homosexuality is not. That is the difference.

So what is the difference between the two, besides the words? There is no gay gene and to say people are born that way is to blame God for sin and call Him a lier.

Now that she is open and honest, although I believe God calls homosexuals to a life of celibacy- I think Paul himself struggled with this -

Wrong! To say "God calls homosexuals" is to mock God and make Him responsable for sin. The only thing God calls any of us to do is repent of our sin!

e

I agree. God doesn,t call homosexuals to be celebit because he doesn't create them. God calls homosexuals to turn from being homsexuals just like any other sinful life style. As long as a person considers themselves to be gay whether they be practising or not has not turned from being gay.

Right. But as long as they have not acted on their homosexuality, they have not committed that particular sin. Lust, yes. And the Lord does want them to change their minds and turn from being gay; being gay without action is not a sin.

Let me be clear here, I DO NOT support homosexuality in any way, shape or form and find it as abominable and disgusting as the Lord does. I am addressing sin itself.

parker,

when one identifies themselves as being gay, they're identifying themselves to others and to themselves as having perverse, sinful desires.

if a person accepts Christ as their saviour, they become a NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST. "new creature in Christ" should be the only label they attach to themselves. any other label gives sin, not Jesus, the foothold in their life.

I'm not talking about "coming out" and identifying themselves as gay. I have known people who used to proclaim their "gayness" but have turned from that lifestyle. That doesn't mean that they no longer look at others and have homosexual desires (which is the sin), but they turn to Christ and confess their lust and are forgiven. My point is that it is not a sin to think of one's self as gay. Of course we all should have a new mind when we become saved, but there is still that human being within ourselves which causes us to think of ourselves in certain ways, whether healthy or unhealthy. It all depends on what you do with those thoughts and feelings. Just as it is with those who are bipolar, or manic depressives, they may have a low self esteem and even dislike themselves, but that does not mean that they are any less saved than you or any other child of God.

I agree with you Parker- That is why I believe you should remain celibate in order to be pure before God.

being bi-polar or having low self esteem is not a lifestyle, it is a medical condition.

look at it this way. if a heroin junkie accepts Christ as their saviour, and still thinks of themselves as a junkie, are they putting their focus on God or on heroin? on their spiritual condition or their physical desires?

i'm not going to go so far and say that a person who continues to identify themselves (publically OR privately) as "gay" instead of "christian" is committing a sin by putting that label on themselves, but if it isn't, i think it comes dangerously close to being one. the ONLY label that gives glory to God is born again christian... REDEEMED. that means you put away your old self... you put away the label that you identified with when you were in the world. as long as someone is still considering themselves "gay" (or a junkie) then (1) they're not giving God the glory for changing them, and in fact are denying that God has changed them, (2) are still giving time to sinful thoughts instead of taking them immediately captive to Christ. in short, they are identifying first with their "gayness" and secondly with their "christianity". and putting christianity in second place to their gayness IS a sin. so there ya have it, in one paragraph i have just gone from wishy-washy to firm. yes, a christian who calls himself gay is sinning.

CSLewis, why are you even still in this thread? you don't seem to want to have a discussion. i've asked you questions and others have asked you questions, and you refuse to respond to them. it's almost like watching a child put their fingers in their ears and chanting "gay's ok, gay's ok, gay's ok" in order to not hear the questions being asked.

Some things I don't think are appropriate to answer - and I am not going to respond to insults or veiled threats.

the question i have asked repeatedly was not insulting, was not threatening, nor was it in any way inappropriate.

those who have asked you to support the claims you have made have also said nothing insulting, threatening, or inappropriate.

there is only ONE of many questions that you have any legitimate reason to avoid answering, simply because the answer is irrelevant and none of anyone's business.

I know Paul's passion was on Christ and Christ alone- he stated it is better not to get married- I don't think that he was gay necessarily though he did hint at an internal struggle that he was having but never came out - gays who confine their life to celibacy remaining single are free to be used by God - married people have to deal with our spouse.

That is very insulting to us who are single to assume Paul's singleness had to do with being attracted to men.

To clarify, Paul was a widower.

According to whom?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
