I have a recurring dream too.

It's me and Jesus, walking along a track in the desert.

Jesus stops and says "wait here for Me".

I knew there were others around who were waiting too.

So I wait, after a few minutes, He doesn't reappear, so I sit under the shade of the tree. After a few hours, I build a little shelter. I sleep there overnight. And the next night. And the next. I end up just living at that spot, waiting for Jesus.

Other people who are supposed to be waiting for Jesus, over the years, have gone off and set up businesses and gone on holidays and got fancy jobs and care about their hair.... etc etc etc. There are cars and buses and train timetables and everything. The hustle and bustle is amazing.

It's like surrounding my little tent shelter, a thriving metropolis city has developed.

And I'm just sitting there alone waiting for Jesus.

Here is the interpretation of your dream.

You have been waiting for Jesus a very long time to do a miracle in your life.

You see all these others that have gotten a miracle from the Lord.

But still at this point in time you are waiting for yours.

Please don't think I'm going off the deep end here, I just want to here the thoughts of others on this topic. Most of the dreams we have we don't remember or soon forget, but sometimes we have a dream that we can't forget or it seems so real. Well I had one of those dreams about a month ago and I only told one other person about it, now I'm telling people I never knew but you are brother and sisters in Christ.

Well here it goes, OldZimm's Dream. I dreamed that I was floating in air at a funeral, I looked into the coffin and I saw myself lying there (it felt so real). The strange thing is I looked so young in that coffin, like I was in my twenties with no gray hair (if you look at my profile pic there is nothing but gray and white hair). Next thing I knew, I was in an army fighting Satan. That's when I woke up sorta in shock because it seemed so real. If somebody were to ask me "what are you going to be doing after you die?", I feel like saying I know exactly what I will be doing.

Well there you have it, was it just a dream or was God showing me the future? What do you readers make of this dream? Believe me I'm not going off the deep end, it just seemed so real that I can't get it out of my mind.

God is objectively seen and understood through His Word and feelings, intuitions, thoughts = dreams are subjective by element and are (filtered / examined / interpreted) through the objectively sourced Word of God. Therefore all events are put into subjection to the objectivity of One Sourced Word of God. Hence the understanding of foundation principle of The Word of God in which all else is built there upon.

Gen 1 creation came through The Word of God

John 1:14

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

NKJV

1 Cor 3:10-11

10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. 11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ

NKJV

Love Steven

Your dream could have been prophetic MG, but it is hard to say? I tend to think dreams that stick out to us generally have meaning, but they could be just for us. Most of the time, I can't remember my dreams, but I had one the other night about being in an old building where their were a bunch of children. They were obviously poor, but were being taken care of. It appeared to be an orphanage. One of them was telling me about them playing baseball but having to be creative when it came to equipment including the bases. They were getting ready to eat what appeared to be stew or something like that. I felt like I was hearing something about God using the tithes of his people to take care of the needs of his kingdom, so I was trying to figure out if he was leading me to give to an orphanage or if there was some other meaning? I am still perplexed by it. I went on-line trying to see what I could about orphanages in the U.S. and only came across one in South Carolina.

Anyway, I think dreams can sometimes have meaning, but it is difficult to discern them. It almost sounds like you were seeing devistation to come, but after devistation, "joy comes in the morning." Sometimes you have to go through hard times to see the ultimate good. It could be something the nation is headed into, or it could be something personal in your life? I have no reason to doubt OldZimm's dream had meaning. I can picture myself fighting along side him at Armageddon. I am not exactly thrilled about the hard times to come, but I am excited about the millenial reign of Christ.

Maybe it DOES foreshadow devastation to come....I have been thinking a LOT about all the earthquakes and things happening around the globe. I'm excited about the coming of the Lord and finally getting to the Kingdom too.

Amen MG!

To the original question...

I think there are many examples in the scriptures that God does speak to us during our dreams. Sometimes dreams contain straight out instructions (Ex: Genesis 20:3-6, Matt 2:12), sometimes they're prophetic parables of what is to come (Ex Genesis 41:42, Judges 7, Daniel 2). However, I think careful, prayerful discernment is required before we can know if a dream is a message from God, or as Ebenezer Scrooge said "just a bit of undigested beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, a fragment of underdone potato". Ecclesiastes 5:7 tells us that many dreams have no meaning at all and that the only thing that matters is "awe of the Lord".

So, my take on it is, if a dream puts you in awe of the Lord and gives you a message that aligns with scripture, it's pretty likely that you just got a hot wire message from the Lord. If I had been dreaming about skinny cows eating fat cows, I don't know that I ever would have caught on that it was a message from God, and yet it was. Remember that dream interpretation is a God given gift, not to be taken lightly.

Luke wrote, in Acts 2:17 that In the last days the young people will prophecy and see visions and the old men will dream dreams. At very least, we should consider our dreams possible parables from God, but discernment, always discernment, is key.

Sure go ahead, Then I will give my interpretation of the dream. Nebula asked a question that made me think she was interpreting the dream the same way I was interpreting it.

I do not understand it as me waiting for a miracle. I am a believer in Christ and the Holy Spirit lives in me. Jesus has risen from the dead. Miracle complete :whistling: .

I am waiting on Christ for His second coming and the cares of the world should not distract me. Those others, are supposed to be waiting too, but have been distracted by jobs and cars and the cares of the world.

Hello TillmanCT. First of all, welcome to Worthy Boards. I noticed that you have only 3 posts so far, and 2 of them are interpretations of dreams and the other is this offer to interpret another. Are you a prophet, do you have a gift of dream interpretation, or do you just have a knowledge of what differen't things mean in dreams? I would also be interested in knowing whether you think dreams are the result of things we are dealing with personally, and they are not so much prophetic, but just helpful in showing us what is in our heart, or do you think they often times are the Lord showing us things to come? :whistling:

1. Are you a prophet, ---------In the Name of the Lord,Yes. Not in the Name of the Lord,No

2. do you have a gift of dream interpretation, ---------In the name of the Lord, Yes. Not in the Name of the Lord,No

3. or do you just have a knowledge of what differen't things mean in dreams? ---------In the name of the Lord,Yes. Not in the Name of the Lord,No

4. I would also be interested in knowing whether you think dreams are the result of things we are dealing with personally, and they are not so much prophetic, but just helpful in showing us what is in our heart, or do you think they often times are the Lord showing us things to come? ----------I think that each dream has its own purpose, that is what I think.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
