I agree that it's irresponsible for him to show the gun off. Not very professional IMO. lol.. that's hilarious.. but seriously just tell him not to bring it in. You have set your heels in the dirt some times. Why not ask your husband to confront him about it if you wont want to? If your parents are anything like mine, they would shy away from telling anyone what to do. I wouldn't... Especially if I have kids in the house. It's that simple.

She's a real gun freak and I don't understand why. Seems to be more of a female thing among all my friends. It seems strange to me that if someone broke into our house wives would expect males to attack whatever might be there bare handed and die protecting the family.......... but God forbid being armed to do so. That's why there's bats. I own one.. specifically for that reason lol... You obviously have never been mugged...

I agree that it's irresponsible for him to show the gun off. Not very professional IMO. Keep in mind that he's still in training, not a seasoned officer. I'm sure it's all new and exciting to him and he just wants to share. Unless he's a real jerk, though, (which I sincerely hope he is not considering what he's planning to do with his life!) a simple "Please don't bring your gun into our house, it makes us uncomfortable" should be more than sufficient to deal with the situation. Guest LadyC
i agree, he's in training, he's excited to show off the new tools of his trade... this is pretty normal i would think. and since he's your brother, i would think just asking him not to bring it into your home would be sufficient. i'm not sure why you feel like you'd need to have your husband intervene in this instance question: what's gonna happen someday down the road when he is on duty, in uniform, and comes to your house? will it bother you then that he's got his gun? (probably not, since he wouldn't be showing it off, but just checking!)
