Perhaps this is the wrong forum for this, if so sorry bout that :)

Many of us here agree that a great persecution will soon be upon us. What are you doing to prepare? Is there anything that can be done, or are we to wait patiently and hopefully for the return of Christ?

I know of some who are very prepared.

Some of the Catholics I know keep track of various visioaries/phophets... They have stashes of food, water, first aid, scapulars, medals etc... And some are even part of groups who have prepared a place to hide/take refuge during the end times... They are awaiting what they call the great chassisment. [sp?]

Personally, we have a few things put aside for an emergency, such as an earthquake.... But for the most part I believe that Psalm 91 sums it all up... The Lord is my refuge. Whatever He has instore for me is fine, I submit myself to Him.

The greatest of preparations is the preparation of our own souls and for the souls of those we love as well as the many who are searching for a better way... May we all truly be ready for that day to meet our bridegroom.

Psalm 91

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [1]

2 I will say [2] of the LORD , "He is my refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare

and from the deadly pestilence.

4 He will cover you with his feathers,

and under his wings you will find refuge;

his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5 You will not fear the terror of night,

nor the arrow that flies by day,

6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,

nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,

ten thousand at your right hand,

but it will not come near you.

8 You will only observe with your eyes

and see the punishment of the wicked.

9 If you make the Most High your dwelling-

even the LORD , who is my refuge-

10 then no harm will befall you,

no disaster will come near your tent.

11 For he will command his angels concerning you

to guard you in all your ways;

12 they will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;

you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD , "I will rescue him;

I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble,

I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him

and show him my salvation."

I don't worry about tomorrow for today has enough trouble of its own.

Oh wait, isn't that in the bible?

I do nothing to prepare for a comming tribulation or persecution. I could care less. God has taken care of me during this time, I fail to see why He would stop in the comming times.

:t2: In Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 Jesus Christ warned about not only the end-time events preceding His return,but also told His listeners that there would be persecutions and arrests of His followers. However, He nowhere urged them to arm themselves and to concentrate their energies on various self-protective strategies. Rather He had earlier warned His disciples "...whoever desires to save his life will lose it..." (Mark 8:34-35).

"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." (Luke 21:34-36).

Jesus warned against indifference and complacency. Jesus emphasized the need for His disciples to watch and not fall back into old sins. As conditions worsen and lawlessness increases, the temptation would be to let down your gaurd "...for the love of many will grow cold, but he who endures to the end shall be saved" (Matthew 24:12-13). The best preparation is spiritual preparation.

This involes close contact with God through fervent prayer and fasting--praying that we may be accounted worthy to escape the coming cataclysm and to be able to stand before the King of Kings and Righteous Judge. "Therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers." (1Peter 4:7). :P

In Christ,

kittyjo great selection of scripture for this topic :t2:

CarolineS Great post i especally like your Mark quote "...whoever desires to save his life will lose it..."

Jesus also said:

Matthew 10

16 "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. 17But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils and scourge you in their synagogues. 18You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

21"Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 22And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

The Lord told us these times would happen, but He also told us not to worry about it because these things have to take place before His return. He has given us a very real Map to follow...the Bible.

Persecution of Christians is taking place all over the world right now. We need to hold up the church in prayer daily, covering the body of Christ in the blood of Jesus, praying they will escape or be set free and that they Lord will give them a bold witness and songs in the night. Pray the angels will lead them out of hard places and hold them up.

We who are looking for the Lord will not be here during the Great Tribulation because we will be caught up to be with the Lord before the anti-christ is revealed.

Keep your eyes on Jesus! Learn of Him. His yolk is easy and His burden is light.

Coming persecution, I believe it is already happening. I think it is coming quickly. We need to make our voice known.

I believe all we can do is know our Bible and stay as close as possible to the Lord.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
