The Jehova's witnesses used to come to my door, and one of their arguments was that Jehovah is the "Almighty God" whereas Jesus is referred to in Isaiah's prophecy as the "Mighty God."

Then I showed them the Psalm which states "Jehovah, He is the Mighty God."

God the Father has not been seen on earth. Bodily appearances of God in the OT are pre-incarnate Christ. I suspect Melchizedek was as well .

Well to be pedantic, I said He hasn't been seen, not that He hasn't been heard. God the Father did not have to bodily appear nor be seen in order for His voice to be heard at the transfiguration. In the synoptic passage in Mark 1:11 and Luke 3:22, the voice comes from heaven. In the Matthew passage, the cloud represents this.

Not being pedantic.The first question was about physical/visual sightings.I agree with what you say.

My new question is about the Fathers voice.

Can we know if any audibles in the Ot are the Father?

We do know the Father spoke and was heard in the Nt.

Are you delineating between the voice coming from earth and the voice of God coming from heaven? I think there is a plethora of examples for the latter. Samuel heard the Lord's voice, from where, we are not told.

This is the Fathers voice.Who else could it be?

Jesus said that no one had seen the Father. Didn't say that no one had seen the Father's face.

Moses told us that he, Aaron, two other people and 70 of the elders of Israel had gone up and saw the God of Israel.

So it is my opinion that what Moses knew as God was whatever Jesus was before he set that aside to become flesh.

It seems to me that in the cases I can remember Jesus is referred to as Lord, or in the old testament Lord God. The Jehovah thing is a different translation of the same hebrew word. Unless you are a Jehovah's Witness, it just confuses the subject.
