Grace to you,

Katy Ann,

So you think God wants us to feel his pain? Does scripture exhort us to attempt do so? Is this something a loving father would want for his children?

Grace to you,

1 Peter 4

1Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

It's funny how you bolded this part;

1Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind:

But neglected ths part;

for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

Explain to me. Are the Christians who are being beaten and suffering all manner of injustice, to include death, world wide through persectuion and Terror for their Faith somehow how in a special class? :blink::noidea:

Mark 10

35James and John, the two sons of Zebedee, came up to Jesus, saying, "Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask of You." 36And He said to them, "What do you want Me to do for you?" 37They said to Him, "Grant that we may sit, one on Your right and one on Your left, in Your glory." 38But Jesus said to them, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?" 39They said to Him, "We are able." And Jesus said to them, "The cup that I drink you shall drink; and you shall be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized. 40"But to sit on My right or on My left, this is not Mine to give; but it is for those for whom it has been prepared."

It's a bitter cup :thumbsup: .

You don't think the Bridegroom wants His bride to share in His heart?

His heart yes. His pain no.

I'll just say this, as someone who has walked through great pain my entire life, if a man desires to know my heart, if he does not share in my pain and sorrow, I can never believe he knows me, knows my heart.

I'll never forget how meaningful it was to me when I shared with a friend some of the pain I went through and she cried. No one had ever cried with me before. This comforted me more than any words ever did.

I used to think that to be holy I had to be happy, and so I shoved down every speck of pain and wouldn't let myself mourn and the like. I thought that was how to overcome my "struggles" (what I called my chronic depression before I knew that is what it was).

I have since learned that this was a lie.

It's like pouring dirt over garbage thinking it will support the foundation for a building.

The joy of the Lord is not your joy.

I don't think there is anything wrong with praying that your heart and desires would match the Lord's heart and desires. I just know this is going to be painful. It's painful to come into line with God's heart for two reasons. Firstly, because we are prideful stubborn people and chipping away at that attitude hurts. Secondly, because the Lord carries a great passion for hurting people, and we must see that pain too in order to reach out to them.

Ps 51

16For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it;

You are not pleased with burnt offering.

17The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;

A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

As a parent I can say that I do not want my children to feel my pain.

Lots of people use that argument to claim God is cruel for not preventing us from feeling pain.

How is your point different from this?

I realize that. But there is a difference. God's goal is not to spare us from pain, but that in no way means he wants us to share his.

What Scripture do you have that states the Lord doesn't want us to share in His burden.

God wants us to do his will. This is what Christ told us to pray for via the Lord's prayer.

And what is His will?

For us to serve him. Nowhere does it say we must share his pain in order to serve him. Scripture actually says it is God's will that we are to have peace.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

When a friend loses a loved one, how do you comfort her? Try to make her feel happy?

Is it not to love? Him first and others second?

What is loving the Lord to you? Does not love share in the joys and sorrows of one loved?

Loving the Lord is doing his will as much as is humanly possible while keeping him the center of my life. Scripture does not say that asking the Lord to share pain with me is required.

What does it mean to you to be the Bride of Christ?

How does a bride love her bridegroom?

He also wants us to spread the Gospel and live our lives as an example of being a child of God. This we are also told in scripture.

Does one negate the other?

Others see Christ through us. Being unhappy and in pain because of our relationship with God would not be much of a witness would it?

I just heard the best sermon this weekend. The man cried the whole time!

When he said, "God's heart bleeds for this generation," it made it so much more real. It made me want to do whatever I could towards the salvation of the lost because that would bring joy to the Father's heart.

Would you please explain how you interpret "how he wants to feel about his love for us and ours for him" through this psalm? Thanks!

It's pretty evident isn't it? COME BEFORE HIS PRESENCE WITH SINGING.

How does singing equate to love?

In the end, I am not saying we should not or could not feel the pain which God feels. It's the deliberating praying to feel this pain that I have issue with.

The Bible doesn't state we should pray to be happy, either.

In fact, when Paul prayed for an end to pain ("thorn in the flesh"), the Lord refused.

You see, we aren't commanded to be joyful and sing because it's a sin to feel sad. We are exhorted to sing and rejoice lean on the Lord's jpy because we go though pain and sorrow, and this is how pain is used for His glory.

It's your thread. Where is your scripture?

Phil. 3:10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,

Can one know the fellowship of His suffering without feeling pain?

There's lots of things the Bible never says, "Pray for . . . " that we do pray for.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
