I see an atheist's deity as themselves. They believe in no higher power than themselves. They worship themselves by believing in nothing but themselves. What they want. What they can do to make the world a better place. What they can do to make themselves feel good about themselves. Like I said in the beginning, that is how I see them. By the way, we can do nothing without Christ.

And that, Parker1, is why atheists shuffle off this world and into the pit. They didn't have Christ and they amounted to nothing. What is hard to understand about that??? :noidea:

I do not believe we evolved from chimps. This is a ridiculous notion.

It is a silly notion, but perhaps not for the reason you think. We do share a common ancestor with chimps. We have since, mostly, evolved on our separate paths.

By 'we' you mean you and Attel.....right? :D

No. Actually we are quite humble. We do not believe we are elected and so special, when for

instance compared with the other living beings on the planet.

You are the one who believes we are in the image of God, which is a pretty self-indulging

belief, IMHO.

Riiight. That's what you say. But everything that you do is for yourself in some way. You think you are your own boss. You answer to no one except to other men. You take credit (even if only in your own mind) for every good (?) deed that you do. You worship yourself. As the great Bob Dylan said:

"You may be an ambassador to England or France,

You may like to gamble, you might like to dance,

You may be the heavyweight champion of the world,

You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

You might be a rock 'n' roll addict prancing on the stage,

You might have drugs at your command, women in a cage,

You may be a business man or some high degree thief,

They may call you Doctor or they may call you Chief

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

You may be a state trooper, you might be a young Turk,

You may be the head of some big TV network,

You may be rich or poor, you may be blind or lame,

You may be living in another country under another name

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

You may be a construction worker working on a home,

You may be living in a mansion or you might live in a dome,

You might own guns and you might even own tanks,

You might be somebody's landlord, you might even own banks

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

You may be a preacher with your spiritual pride,

You may be a city councilman taking bribes on the side,

You may be workin' in a barbershop, you may know how to cut hair,

You may be somebody's mistress, may be somebody's heir

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

Might like to wear cotton, might like to wear silk,

Might like to drink whiskey, might like to drink milk,

You might like to eat caviar, you might like to eat bread,

You may be sleeping on the floor, sleeping in a king-sized bed

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody,

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

You may call me Terry, you may call me Timmy,

You may call me Bobby, you may call me Zimmy,

You may call me R.J., you may call me Ray,

You may call me anything but no matter what you say

You're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed

You're gonna have to serve somebody.

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody."

Worship isn't restricted to the action of bowing and the like.

It can also mean:

"to feel an adoring reverence or regard for (any person or thing)."

What do you revere more than anything else?

I do not revere anything. I apply skeptical inquiry to everything in my life, including science, love,

affection, feelings and my sense of self. I know it sounds like circular reasoning but I cannot help it.

Sounds to me like you revere your intellect and reasoning. Do you not rely on these to determine truth?

"I" am just a machine evolved from chance and necessity and programmed by unconscious natural processes to survive and reproduce.

The awareness of this fact, prevents "me" from excessively overestimating "my" intellectual capabilities.

If this is all human are, why is murder wrong?

Or what hope can you give to those who are destitute?

If sharia law goes into effect where atheists live they will be hunted down and either killed or assimilated.

Ronnie, you hit that nail right on the head. Sha'ria law does not allow atheists. Although everyone is required to follow 'allah' ......making them ALL atheists to us.

There aren't too many atheists who will be able to resist the signs and wonders presented by the devil in the very last of these last days.

It won't really matter though; they are already doomed.

Look into it. Miracles are happening all of the time. And one day soon no atheist will be able to deny it.

I think they would deny Christ if He was standing directly before them because they are blind to the Truth. It's very sad.

Oh my. That would depend on who's interpreting the law, and most Muslims don't condone killing of nonbelievers so I don't think there will be anything to worry about in that regard...unless Western Atheists all of a sudden decide to make a mass exodus to the Middle East, which I also don't see happening.

I have a friend that is convinced he works with a bunch of Neanderthals. :o

Does your friend work here, in my company, by any chance?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
