Sometimes it is built in history and culture with a tinge of honor.Too sad. For Christians it is a sin of murder. Morover I often read about suicide attacks and people wonder how to stop that. Sometimes it is a cultural and historic tradition. Sometimes it is in the DNA. As I live in Russia it comes to my memory that in the former USSR during the war and some years after there was an order for soldiers and officers to fight "to the last shell" in combat and the last bullet was intended for honorable suicide "not to fall into enemy's hands". There is no such written order today as far as I know. May be there will be a medication for those who have such inclinations. But today painkillers are often ineffective. Lord !
