Rev. to NJ Church leaders get rid of Facebook

I joined FB originally to read Sarah Palin's notes. I go there about once or twice a week and get into political discussions and interact with people I have met along the way. I suppose someone could wind up in illicit relationships through FB, but even if you weren't a part of a social site like that, if you have adultery in your heart, you will meet someone to mess around with somewhere. I invited my wife to join, but she isn't interested. Even so, I tell her everything that goes on there. I had one person that became a FB friend, and she sent me a message inviting me to a site that contained nude pictures of her. I immediately told my wife about the solicitation. The woman had told me she was a Christian when I accepted her as a friend, but her actions said otherwise, so I wrote her back and asked her about the contradictions in her lifestyle. She never wrote me back, and FB eventually banned her.

Basically, it is a matter of the heart whether someone is going to use places like that for good or bad. I don't have time for things like Farmville, though I have had a lot of invitations to join. I usually spend time debating liberals, posting notes, and using the chat. I have nothing to hide there, and my wife would be more than welcome to sign up, and link to my page. Telling people in your congregation to stay away from FB isn't going to fix things. The minister needs to deal with the real problem which involves commitment to one's marriage and taking adulterous thoughts captive.

Although in all honesty, given what he did, should he still remain a pastor?

Before you say but he is forgiven, look at what the bible says are the qualifications. Does he meet them? Does he appear blameless or discredited?
