What I have done to overcome my issues is I bought the Word of Promise Audio Bible - NJKV. It is beautifully done and I love listening to it. I listen when I am driving or at home when I can follow along with my bible. My trouble is that I have to focus on every word and understand every word when I read. When I listen, there is no need for a connection between what I see and think, I just listen. I have always had a tough time reading.

So you konw what I'm talking about !!! :emot-hug:

Reading passages that I have to really concentrate on is difficult at the moment.

Why didn't I think of that :emot-questioned: Oh yeah, it's hard to concentrate. :24:

Anyway, I do alot better with good annointed teachers on tv, but since I don't have a tv at the moment, I should look into some learning CDs. Gotta save for them though, but I'll do it. Otherwise my brain is gonna start rotting LOL !!

It would be nice to start eating meat again.

Thanks for the idea OneLight. I never thought of that. :emot-handshake::):)

Try out the site: Desiring God.org Its John Piper's web site, the fella who wrote Don't Waste Your Life.

They have all kinds of teaching available for download. All they ask is that you give whatever you can afford.

Also check out a Calvary Chapel's web site. They make their resources available for free also. Calvary Community Church in Phoenix, AZ Is the one I listen too, but there are many others. The main site is Calvary Chapel.com, and hit the "Find a Church" link to find one near you.

There are plenty of great resources out there, even if you don't have money to pay right away. :)

'Song In The Night'

I know He works all things out for our good, cause He loves us so much, but I have this worry problem. Ask Wandering Sparrow. I always wonder where these events in my life came from. I never know quite how to handle them except to lift them up to God in prayer, cause when I try to fix them myself, I just make the situation worse. And many times, there is nothing else to do but pray.

And the things that can happen to us can literally be so earthshattering that it saps you of the very energy to keep going....remembering that bad things DO happen to good people...my sis and my family are going thru this at the moment - my sister's child died of leukemia at 15 last July - it has knocked the wind out of my family and has nearly pushed us to the edge...4 family members having died in the last 10 years....these kinds of things bring you to your knees where you realise that God does not discriminate and when all is said and done, we need to get it right, here and now in our standing with God  ...for who knows when our time is up and what lies ahead? Only He does.

Our Lord told us not to eat and we did... your witness and the witness of everyone else is sorrows and grief! Testing to see that we are in relationship to Him as child and sharing wiith others how we are doing is life and the hope of the day His very Own Hand shall wipe our tears from our faces never to be stained by them again... for now it is to share our sorrows with one another that we might help bare them till that day... prayed... You know it is from Him because the joy experienced is so overwhelming that it is not possible to describe and no words for sure. We only can say Praise and Glory to Him which seem not enough even thoug it is.

Blessings

Hi Song in the night.

I can relate to what you are experiencing. What I have found that has helped me is making sure that peace is present. If peace is lacking, it is an indicator to me that something is not quite aligned with the Word of God and the will of God in my life. Sometimes it means leaving behind things we cherish and habits we enjoy, and even people we liked to have in our lives, when those things are not according to God's will.

The biggest indicator is PEACE. These are the verses that help me meditate on the state of affairs in my life and whether they are according to God's will.

Psalms 29:11 The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

.... What else is left to learn regarding these situations in my life?....

Some Of The Things

Rejoice evermore.

Pray without ceasing.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16:18

I Am Still Learning Daily

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Be Blessed Beloved Daughter Of The KING

The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

and they shall put my name upon the children of Israel; and I will bless them. Numbers 6:24-27

Thanks nooby. I always look for the wise words of your's and FresnoJoe's.

HisGirl : I am so sorry for your family's loss. Words are sort of useless at such times. I always feel admiration at the strength families display at such times, by the mere fact that they still get up in the morning and carry on. What else is there left to do ?

Please except my condolences. It's all I have.

And of course, my prayers.....

Love,

Song In The Night

I guess I'm just suppose to take care of what I am able myself to take care of, give the rest to God, thank Him that He will always be with me, and not care where the situation came from, cause God is in charge of it all anyway.

Thankyou Song. :emot-hug:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
