The problem is, people are throwing out the baby with the bath water.

Not me. At least, not today.

1 Corinthians 14:24-25

But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all, and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, "God is really among you!"

This is supposed to be the purpose of a church, and of a worship service. A stranger should be able to walk into your meeting and understand what's being said and what's going on.

-Well Sister, the Bible says to be sure there are interpreters before a service is interrupted with a message in tongues.

-That statement is not quite Accurate---

-1st.COR.12:vs.10-

-To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another

-discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the

-interpretation of tongues:

-1st.COR.14:vss.1.Thru.5--------

-Follow after charity, and desire spiritual [gifts], but rather that ye may prophesy.

-For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto

-God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh

-mysteries. But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men [to] edification, and

-exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue edifieth

-himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. I would that ye all spake with

-tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater [is] he that prophesieth than

-he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive

-edifying.

Sure we need structure and order, but we shouldnt sweat it if the pastor burst out in tongues every now and then either. "Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty".

yeah, that's true. i guess that i'm just more afraid of the congregation following his lead, and non-order insuing, or the congregation thinking they need to speak in tongues a lot during the service to look "spiritual"?

now i'm just doubting the spiritual maturity of the people at my church. that sure is false piety. blech.

i guess that i do think i'm over-reacting. :glasses:

if a person is doing it to "LOOK" spiritual, then it is of no use......

the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, is not the spirit of confussion......

There has been times that a word has been given, and was told to hold it, and later i could see why, the word was for me alone, not for sharing with others....

there have been times when a word was given, and I thought it was for me alone, and later the service would die down to a very super peaceful time, and i was told to give it for it was for others to know of it.....

we are not to interupt the service, if some one is speaking, then we are to wait until they finish, if we know there is no one that is being used to interpret the tongues, we are to hold it, if we know there are some around that have been used to interpret, then we are to share, if we are told to.....

there have been times some one would be praising and praying in the Spirit, and some one else try to interpret mistaking it for a word in tongues, when praying in the Spirit, or praising, we should keep our voices down where it is not mistaken for a message in tongues and disrupt the service.....

there has been a couple times when the word was given to " BE STILL AND LISTEN" when the service is not flowing smoothly, or if people are interupting the service..... and on a couple of those occassions, there was a word ( either in tongues or prophecy ) given by some one that did not have a voice that would carry......

we have to be sensitive to the moving of the Holy Spirit, we can not do it, it has to be the Spirit that does it......

there is order to the service, but we also do not want tradition to get in the way,

opening prayer, two songs, testemoney, two more songs, word in tongues, interpretation, two more songs, prayer request... so forth adn so on.... if the Spirit wants to "Move" before the opening prayer, then so be it.... Let the Spirit move, dont say that because we did not have the right number of songs and our standard testemony, then it was not the Spirit of the Lord......

can the Pastor give a message in tongues? YES

can the same person that gives the message in tongues also be the one to interpret it? Yes.

can there be interpretation of the word in tongues by the pastor? Yes.

can a word of Profecy be given by the Pastor? Yes...

all this as well as the other 6 gifts can be worked thru the pastor and all the other members of the Body.....

The Spirit of God gives the Gifts as He sees fit...

There are many counterfeit spirits out in the world and especially the devil likes to put it in the chruch, with lying signs and wonders to decieve the elect if that were possible.(if that were possible; means that some we see that we think are the elect, are actually wolves, or sell the word for prophet, for their own gain).

I'm not saying that this pastor has the false spirit, but I would check who he has visited recently. Many pastors recieved the so called toronto blessing by just going there, it is given by physically passing on spirits , not the Holy-Spirit.

I pray ernestly that he is just excited and overlooking the order of the church.

We took a young woman in for deliverance who after being prayed for by one of these toronto pastors, recieved tongues and the laughing spirit., because she was then having horrible dreams and demons molesting her.

The man conducting the deliverance heard the woman speaking tongues as she stepped into his house! The first guestion the pastor asked the woman after he took authority over the demons in Jesus name, was what was the meaning of the tongues she was speaking earlier? The demon spoke out and said it was cursing God and these people of God!

The Holy Spirit is also a gentileman-(the Spirit of God) and does things in order! Beware of people who are taken over by a spirit, cant control themselves, falling, drunken, glued to the floor, rambling in tongues with no order, or interpretation! These are deceptive times with little discernment, the Lord has led us out of many, many churches, we can't find a safe place, at this time we are hoping for a house church, but He has taught us more recently than all my thirty years in church.

God bless you all ; Shammah 2.

That doesn't really answer my question.

I didn't ask how could I tell the difference.

I asked how do you tell the difference?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
