First of all I want to thank God for everything He has done for me.

I feel as if I am this "oddity" completely among my co-workers and people in my career path. I feel this total disconnect between my "Christian" way of thinking and lifestyle, and my work environment and all these people in my field( atheist, feminist, humanist, "religion is patriarchy", "religion is oppression against women"etc) .

It is ok, it is all very clear and I am ok with that.

Then today, I attended a meeting with workers from other places who have known me on other projects and here comes the big joke at my expense: in the middle of the meeting, someone says "Let's hope she (talking about me) won't change religious affiliations on us again!" Everyone laughs. Clearly, every one is making a joke out of my conversion from Islam to Christ. And clearly thinking I moved from one backward stupid religion to another.

Fine.

I collected myself and didnt say anything and brought the conversation back to the topic at hand.

Of course, no one laughed when that same lady mentioned the "amber necklace" she got for her 6 month old baby in order to "balance his chakras" so that teething won't hurt. So that is NOT "backward"?

What makes people look at Jesus with such contempt?

Literally they act as if my belief in Christ means I am retarded. Yet, someone believing in some crystals and chakra balancing theory, somehow, makes them more "enlightened"?

Just venting I guess. It gets a bit aggravating at times.

It is one thing to see and hear people disregarding God in their own life choices, but it offuscates me to see them being so "close-minded" when it comes to my faith.

Let me get back to reading Psalm 146... :)

1 Corinthians 1

18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

19 For it is written: “ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom;

23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,

24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;

28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are,

29 that no flesh should glory in His presence.

30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—

31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the LORD.”

Your work group sounds like my family reunion. It is hard to be silent when their words first cut, but then His peace engulfs me and they can see that in me. That is His witness through us, when we don't allow their words to gain ground. When their faith fails them, and it will, they will remember this difference in you. All we can do is pray for them and allow His Spirit to work through us and into their lives.

God Bless Sis!

In His Love,

Alan

Hi loved one!

Let it encourage your heart that this is what is really happening

Luke 6:22-23

22 Blessed are you when men hate you,

And when they exclude you,

And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,

For the Son of Man's sake.

23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!

For indeed your reward is great in heaven,

For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.

NKJV

In the very literal of sense God is saying listen when you hear this know my eye is fixed upon you and I AM that I AM is setting in place a reward that will mark this event and I shall put it in your hands so that you will have something to Honor me ... imagine already you are overwhelmed with righteousness and sight of Him and then this ... it always make me think of an exploding of worship it will burst from our hearts

Luke 19:40

40 But He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out."

NKJV

the praise must be let out even if it must come from that having no voice it shall come out.... I am persuaded that a person complete in scripture will in all of his day no matter what comes find encouragement in the event at hand... it seems to me the peace that passes all understanding is the presence of living Scripture midst the fiery trial making that trial as non effect and a substantial witness to those in its presence as Paul witness in the face of Stephen the first to martyr of the Church.... Love enoob

Oh yes, the hypocrisy is colossal!

Many years ago I was working in a mental health residential facility for the severely mentally ill. Some of the counselors were secularists, some were New Agey, and two of us were Christians.

The one New Age gal sold her magic crystals for $10, always with the schpiel about 'vibrational frequencies' and 'balancing the chakras' etc.

One day the other Christian fellow there, a zealous new convert, gave some of the residents free Bibles. At the afternoon "collegial" Staff Meeting, the New Age 'woo-woos' were up in arms. The young lady said: "I consider it singularly inappropriate to give these people BIBLES!," emphasizing the word with horror in her voice.

It was then that I just had to speak up: "But somehow you think it's ok to SELL them your MAGIC CRYSTALS at $10 a pop?!!?"

End of conversation, and beginning of termination for said New Age entrepreneur!

Don't sweat it, morons like that make the world go 'round, for such were ALL WE until the Holy Ghost enlightened our souls.

I would say they are also bothered by you witness. People tend to fight when they see the truth and are afraid that its true! It means your on the right track and doing a Good job. I know many Christians who people never even know they are Christians because they do not let Christ shine through. Its not you they are bothered with, they are bothered by the light of Christ they see through you!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
