Yeah, Saddam was such a nice, play by the rules type of guy; he didn't do anything but nice, did he? NOT!!!

I'm actually more scared of an in-power Saddam than an on the run Bin Laden. Bin Laden's capture, while wonderful of course, doesn't mean the end of terror. Another person will simply pick up where he left off. With Saddam gone, we can quite possibly prevent the recurrence of another madman seeking WMD-don't tell me Saddam didn't have them as they were likely taken to Syria before the war. Plus, we send a clear message to any other despots out there who want to pick a fight!

Yup i agree fully with you

Bin laden will just be replaced, saddam will not.

I still do believe they had them, i too also believe the are in Syria... i said before the first strike they where going to move them to syria... we will soon fine out if we were right

How? A mistake is a mistake is a mistake. Why sacrafice more American lives in an effort to justify those already lost. This is fast turning into another Vietnam. We didn't win there and we can't win in Iraq; should we wait until we've lost 58,000 American service men and women in Iraq before pulling out in defeat? I saw on one station the other day (PBS I think) where our govt is already starting to set aside "zones" in Iraq where our guys are not "allowed" to fight; the generals are complaining and rightly so.....this very same thing happened in Vietnam and it put our guys at a big disadvantage. They're in enough danger as it is.

I'm actually more scared of an in-power Saddam than an on the run Bin Laden.

NOT ME! I think this "clip" from an article I read yesterday best sums up the way I'm thinking:

Bush says, "The world is a safer place with Saddam Hussein sitting in a prison cell." That's true. Every arrest of a bad guy makes the world safer. But the world is full of bad guys, and we have limited resources. The arrest of Saddam has cost us about $200 billion, absorbed our attention, and forced us to pull American troops from other countries. That means other bad guys have gone unchecked. Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind of the worst attack on the U.S. mainland, remains at large. In North Korea, the world's worst proliferator, Kim Jong-il, has built more nukes. Saddam had no nukes and never attacked the U.S. mainland.

Bush says, "Free societies in the Middle East will be hopeful societies, which no longer feed resentment and breed violence for export." That's true, too. But it will take a lot more time, money, and American casualties to transform Iraq into a free society. It would take still more time and money

Wait till middle of October and I think old Ben Laden will show up. Actually I will be surprised if he doesn't.

As far as leaving Iraq, I have mixed emotions. We should set a deadline of early next year and tell them that If they can't get their act together and rat out the terrorists there themselves we'll just give them back to Saddam.

A little motivation might just help. Why should they risk their lives to make their country viable when we seem happy to sacrifice ourselves.

No I agree with Charlie, we can't help them by being there for a long time.

If we left today, the resulting Civil War would make Rwanda look like recess at an elementary school playground.

We simply can not leave yet. THAT is reality.

this statement from Bednarik shows why he is incapable of leading the free world.

God lets idiots think they know something Charlie, it keeps them in the game.

You are the Party who will let 9/11 happen over and over and over again... Lets just hope your party never gets in office, We would be doomed... Geez could you amagin thoughs idoits in office? ahhhhhhhhhhhhh run to the hills LOL

I was born a free American, and I'd just as soon die a FREE American. If it takes another 9/11 to stay free, so be it. Thousands upon thousands of people have died to keep this country free. It has for the most part been somewhere else that we have died, but die we have done. What is wrong with asking our population to sacrifice here at home for what we say we believe in.

If you want to match Ben Laden you should tell him we will remain a free people to the very last one of us.

Any of you that are not willing to do this don't deserve to be free. That is what is wrong with Iraq, it's general population are not willing to die for the freedom.

When the general population of this country is not willing to die for it's freedom, we will die from within and it will not take a Ben Laden to do it. Just a John Aschroft, John Poindexter and their group.

ronald, much of the rest of the world consider Bush as no better than Saddam when it comes to politics and what he has done in Iraq and Afganistan. They are afraid of us, and I don't mean jsut the axis of evil people.

In every war we have had some civil liberties necessarily be suspended for a time.

It's just factual history that these emergency measures happened...and then were lifted when the danger no longer exists.

The Patriot Act has a shelf life. It automatically ends!!!!

So don't act like Ashcroft is trying to steal your rights....he's trying to save the nation from terrorist attacks....and has been very successful, btw.

I would only worry if the Democrats assumed power before the war on terrorism is over. They have a track record of taking good law and using it to control the electorate....like Social Security, Medicaid, Welfare, etc....

Yod you are living in a fantasy world. At this point in time if you let the govt suspend our liberties....we will NEVER get them back...end of story! I guess as far as getting absolute power and control terrorist attacks against us works in the government's favor since it's getting people like you to agree a total government takeover in the "name" of security. You are a foolish man.

Any of you that are not willing to do this don't deserve to be free. That is what is wrong with Iraq, it's general population are not willing to die for the freedom.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
