-? What would Jesus say about this waste of funds that otherwise could go to evangelism, missionary work or the needy? Should a smoking believer even pray for God's financial blessings? Most probably the smoking believer causes a curse to come upon his or her finances.

-JOHN.12:vss.3.Thru.6---

-Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the

-feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the

-odour of the ointment. Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's

-[son], which should betray him, Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred

-pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but

-because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

I watched my husbands uncle die a very painful and slow death from cigarettes ... My husband smokes but not around me or the kids... It's not good to smoke around children..Their little lungs can't take it.. My brother and sister inlaw smoke like trains as their kids grew upina closed car..I used to get made because the kids always were coughing and noses running... Anyways... I know my opinion doesn't much here but I thought I would say my part...LOl

Oh! I refuse to kiss my hubby after he has smoked a cig..i make him go brush his teeth and rinse his mouth out with Listerine! YUCK! POO!

and to add this.....

**Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, so be careful what we put in our bodies.

**Smoking is an addiction and Christians are to guard against addictions.

**Smoking has many harmful effects and can often lead to other addictions.

These are all rational arguments. Another common argument to add to that list is that God provides our finances and we are told to use them carefully.

All of these arguments are well and good, but they all have other sides to them. Yes, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, but how much worse is it to put smoke (and all it carries with it) into our bodies than it is to gorge ourselves on junk food? Judging by the lineup at the coffee table on Sunday mornings I would say that there are far more Christians addicted to caffeine than there are to nicotine. Sure smoking has lots of harmful effects, but so does overeating or eating the wrong things. God provides us money, but how often do we use it to buy things we don't really need?

I guess it seems to me that the arguments used against smoking are usually quite inconsistent. I see the logic behind them, but those same principles seem to fail when they are extended to the rest of the Christian life.

I hate smoking. I hate the smell of it and I especially hate seeing cigarette butts lying on the ground outside buildings. But I don't presume to think that I can tell the first thing about a person's spiritual condition by the fact that they smoke.

God Bless!

NO PIES PLEASE!! LOL LOL LOL

Not judging, just the facts.

Historically the calumet was considered a sacred pipe to offer smoke to the demon gods above and below. Tobacco was looked upon as a sacred plant and burning it brought favor in the eyes of the gods (demons). Even a member of an enemy tribe who entered a house and smoked with the host, was guaranteed protection and safe conduct when he left.

Several Indian tribes burned incense for a purifying medium or an acceptable offering to the unseen. Some eastern tribes did not smoke a pipe in a sacred ceremony but burned tobacco in a small fire. This smoke offering was believed to ascend to the power to whom they prayed.

As the use of tobacco as an offering to gods continued, it was rolled in corn husks, the predecessors of modern cigars and cigarettes. Inhaling the smoke was incorporated into the rituals and both the smoke and the aroma continued to have a serious place in the religious rituals and ceremonies.

History reference books also state the tobacco pipe was used by American Indians in ceremonies to ratify treaties. Also, some Indians smoked the tobacco pipes to their sun-god and blew the smoke to him. Indians related many sources of illnesses to "witches who flew through the air disguised as owls to poison their victims". The protective practice against these witches was to cut their limbs and cleanse themselves of bad blood; and the use of "the old man's tobacco" was to avert spirits of the dead.

These are processes of witchcraft prohibited by God.

- (the way God sees it) cigarette smoking is "burning incense to other (demon) gods". II Kings 22:17, II Kings 23:5; II Chronicles 28:25, 34:24, 34:25; Jeremiah 1:16, 7:9, 11:12, 19:4; Chapter 44, 48:35.

-AND JUST HOW DID YOU COME TO THIS MONUMENTAL-ASSESSMENT THAT "YOU-KNOW-HOW-GOD-LOOKS-AT--SMOKING??"IS smoking mentioned in the Bible??-And OF course YOU are More than Qualified to Conclude & State "THIS"is the way "GOD-LOOKS-AT-SMOKING"--Absolutely!!--Positively!!& WE can ALL take Your Word for that statement as Right-Straight-From GOD'S MOUTH to Your EAR??RIGHT??- :t2::);):t2: -------------------------------- --{vog?}-repackaged?-updated?-new-information from on high?-----I----Reckon?? :P:t2:

In spite of all the shooting, I'm sticking to my guns - smoking is so trivial as far as being Christian is concerned that it isn't worth the smoke going up talking about it.

Non-smokers fall in love and marry smokers. I wonder why.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
